Chapter 2: Human Cyborg
I woke up to the natural light that came in from the window, and got up feeling great. I was feeling really good about myself, even knowing that in three months I might die. If there was anything I believed it, it was myself. I quickly made some eggs and enjoyed breakfast on the balcony. The city I lived in was really nice, and with the lack of fossil fueled machines, the air quality was incredible.
I took a deep breath of fresh air, before coming back inside and showering. I changed into my simple clothes, and headed out. There was a training facility that anyone could use, and I knew this was where I would find people with systems.
I boarded a bus, and followed the bus line all the way to the training center. On the way there I used my scan but found that everyone in the bus was a normal person. I didn't let it bother me, as I was heading to a hub of gifted people, and spent the rest of the trip looking out the window.
Once I got off the bus, I walked inside the training center and found a seat along the sides. I was watching young adult heroes practicing their weapon skills, and I began my scan.
'Network Scan'
[32 Systems detected.]
"32? Damn. Okay, can you begin scanning them for vulnerabilities, and then notify me of the simplest ones?"
[I will proceed as you asked.]
I then continued to focus on the people using weapons. I didn't have any skills myself, but I was excited thinking that I would be able to in the future. My focus was brought back to the heroes in front of me, as a fight broke out. It was a conflict between two men, one with an axe and the other with a sword.
"Hey ASSHOLE, I was using that fucking dummy to practice, go find a different one before I fuck you up." the man with the sword yelled. He was not as big as the man with the axe, being almost a foot shorter and lacking a lot of muscle.
"I don't know who you think you are, but I got here when no one was using it for over twenty minutes. I even waited, and you were nowhere, so you can wait for another open one. I'm not going anywhere." With that, the large axman went back to practicing on the dummy. When suddenly the other man swung his practice sword at the undefended back of the axman.
However, the axman wasn't so helpless. He quickly turned his head, and crouched. The wooden sword flew past his head, and he put power into his legs. Once the sword cleared his head, he came up quickly and forcefully. Landing a perfectly placed uppercut on the swordsman's chin.
I swear, I saw the swordsman lift a foot off the ground, before landing heavily on his back. With that, the conflict was resolved, as everyone simply went back to their business. Fights often broke out between heroes, but as long as it didn't result in anyone getting seriously injured, no one cared. Someone ended up carrying the swordsman to the stands, to let him sleep in a safer place, out of peoples' way.
[Detected one vulnerability.]
[Quest: Make physical contact with the unconscious swordsman.]

I simply walked over and tapped the guy on the shoulder. To others I simply looked like someone who was checking to see if he was knocked out, so I was able to complete the quest without suspicion.

[Flying Sword skill learned.]
I was really ecstatic, but I chose to hide it for now. I walked into the training area, and grabbed a wooden sword. I channeled the skill into the sword I was holding, from the information of the skill that came into my head when I received it.
I lightly tossed the sword ahead of me, but instead of falling to the floor, it hovered in front of me. I then walked forward, and concentrated on the sword to keep it afloat. I used my two fingers to point towards an empty training dummy, and the sword flew straight towards it, smacking it hard in the head. The sword didn't have an edge, so it didn't pierce, but I had a feeling that if it were a real person they would have had their skill caved in.
There were a few heroes in the place who watched me, and began to whisper. I had drawn some attention, but I didn't think that really mattered. I then walked over to the training dummy, and began to practice my flying sword skill. I focused on a style of quick piercing stabs, and a very aggressive fighting style. I had only been practicing for ten minutes before I felt a fatigue on my mind. I held my head, as I stumbled slightly.
I felt a hand catch my shoulder. I turned and saw a beautiful older woman.
"Your mental strength must be exhausted, take it easy before you faint. You're young, and that power is very useful in combat, so take your time to build up your mental strength."
I thanked the woman and she walked away. I watched her as another system prompt appeared.
[Quest complete.]
[Improved Psionic Strength skill learned.]
Immediately I felt a cool sensation pass my mind, and then my senses expanded. I felt that I could perceive more than I could before. However I was confused, where did this quest come from?
[The quest was from a vulnerability to earn the interest of that woman you saw earlier. She has a Level 3 Psionic System, and was the toughest defense to crack, however you were fortunate enough to have completed the quest without realizing it.]
Either way, I was glad that the skill made me feel better, and it would improve my practice with the Flying Sword skill. I went to the stands and sat down, continuing to rest even though I felt much better with the skill, and I went over the other vulnerabilities the system found.
After looking through the list of systems and vulnerabilities, I found one that I was particularly interested in.

I looked at the target for the quest, and saw a young man sitting in the corner recording the various people training. He was sitting alone and looked like the type of person who didn't have an easy time making friends. I understood that, as someone who spent a lot of time in their previous life on a computer, I didn't have a whole lot of friends.
I got up, and walked over to the corner.
"Hey, you mind if I sit here? I saw you were using a bunch of cool looking tech and wanted to learn a little bit." I asked, pointing to a seat next to him.
He was surprised at first that someone was talking to him, but even more surprised when I asked to sit next to him.
"I-I-I... Sure, if you want to, I can't stop you.."
"Haha, of course you can. You can say no, and I would respect your privacy."
"..."
After a few moments, he nodded and pointed to the seat next to him. I smiled and took a seat beside him. After we talked a bit, he eventually started opening up about his passion: technology. I felt that him having an Android system made sense why he was so excited talking about the various cameras and other magical objects I didn't recognize.
I was happy to talk to him, as I was fascinated by the different measuring devices he had, and the other types of tech he had but didn't bring. We talked for another hour, before he finally said he had to go home and have lunch with his family. He said he would be back, and tried to exchange numbers. I embarrassingly explained I didn't actually have a phone, so I would probably still be here, but if not I was planning to come here most days so I was sure we would run into each other.
He nodded, and ran off to catch the bus. I smiled as I watched him leave, and finally looked over the notification I received an hour ago. I didn't look at it before, because I was enjoying my conversation, but I was excited to check it now.

[Machine Assimilation skill learned.]
Machine Assimilation's information flowed into my head, and I was affirmed that it was the right choice to pursue this quest. I was able to assimilate with machines, and augment my body with them. I then got up and left the training center for a bit. I decided to try out my skill, and get myself some food while I was at it.
I headed to a nearby fast food place, where there was a self ordering kiosk, and waited my turn. Once my turn came, I discreetly placed my hand on the machine, looking like I was simply ordering food, and began to assimilate with the machine. It finished connecting, and I was able to order food while bypassing the paying section. Once I got my ticket, I took it and waited for my food.
I had ordered a good amount, figuring it was free anyways so I didn't have to worry, but I was able to slam all my food down with no problems. After I finished eating, I scanned the restaurant.
[Quest: Give the kid as much food as they want.]

'An easy quest again. Nothing to lose.'
I walked outside and asked the small kill on the street, if they were hungry. They excitedly said yes, and so I took them inside. I ordered them whatever they wanted, and they ate for almost a full hour. I simply smiled and kept paying for their food. They asked for some food to bring home, and I asked them where they lived. They told me that they lived with some other homeless kids, and they were all hungry.
I got him more food, and let him go on his way. I then left the restaurant, which honestly was more like a crime scene with how much I stole. I then headed back to the training center and began to watch again. I searched again, but the only quest I found that I could complete today, was a quest to grab a woman's ass.
This quest was easy because all I did was ask her to duel, since I saw her fighting style was as a grappler. I kept her at a distance at first, using my Flying Sword, which caused her to panic a little. She knew she had to close the distance, and when she did I let her grapple me. While she put me in a choke hold, I grabbed her butt, completing the quest.
I then promptly tapped out before I blacked out, but I did so again on her butt. Copping another feel.
In my defense, she was a very beautiful woman with a good figure, who could resist? After that, I left the building after talking to the boy from earlier. He told me his name was Alex Tenner, and that he would be here tomorrow. I told him I'd come at some point, but I might be busy tomorrow.
He nodded and bid me goodbye. I headed back home on the bus, and began to feel lethargic. I had stayed at the training center until almost 4 PM, from 9 AM. I was looking forward to going home, but also making use of my Machine Assimilation skill.
The trip was quick, and I dragged my tired body up the stairs to the third floor. I went in and walked to my room. I immediately began to assimilate to the expensive computer. I chose to fully assimilate with it, different from earlier where I chose to only assimilate my mind with it. Full assimilation was to take it into my body. I chose to fuse the parts of the computer with my brain. This created a bio-computer for a brain.
I felt my head begin to cool, and my thoughts accelerated. I was now one with my computer, allowing me to do everything my computer used to do. I went to take a bath, and began to watch videos online while I did it. It was fascinating, I could watch movies and shows straight in my retina. It was almost like I was even able to be in the movies, the level of immersion was incredible.
I also took this time to hack into the wifi networks of my neighbors. I was looking through their information and seeing if there was anyone deserving of my wrath. Thankfully, there was no one, however the same couldn't be said for the people in the building next to me. I found three people who were doing illegal activities involving minors, so I promptly withdrew all their money, and put it into my own online account. I then routed the money through a series of business accounts and personal accounts around the world, once it was clean I put it into my personal bank account.
I wasn't a morally upright person, but I wasn't about to let scum like this get away with crimes against kids. You don't mess with kids, that's the rule of the internet. So I gathered all the evidence, and sent it to the police from an anonymous account. By the time I came out of the shower, and finished making dinner, I heard the sirens outside.
I watched them get taken away from the comfort of my balcony, while enjoying the terribly made home cooking. However at this moment, it tasted sweeter than anything I had ever ate before.
