Chapter 21: Chapter 21:
"What the hell. Why is a naked teenager running through the streets? Kids these days have no shame".
As Xander ran through various streets and alleyways, the upset voices of the few bystanders alerted him of his current state.
He had no clothes and no shoes as he ran in his birthday suit, eager to get as far as he could from the facility he had escaped from.
Looking back on the ordeal, despite his concern, the grand escape had been rather lacklustre.
Nobody seemed to notice a Dragon burrowing a hole through the ground to the surface and thankfully they had avoided conflict so far.
Having broken out of the chamber after the Dragon secured a passageway, the alarms began to ring as Xander had anticipated and so he took off through the hole, leaving no chances to get caught.
Running through and out of the hole, Xander appeared next to an unassuming multistorey building. Having looked back through the hole, he had definitely been more than a few floors underground.
After his grand escape, Xander ran feverishly as far as he could from the damned place, hoping that the miles between him and it would provide some respite.
Xander, of course, as usual, had a plan. If he wanted to use his summons for the labour, then he would contribute by thorough planning, making sure they all survived.
Whilst running, Xander went through his rough plan. Wherever he had broken free from would no doubt send people to try to hunt him down sooner or later, and he didn't plan to find out who they were.
This world had 3 major powers, so to say. The nobles, werewolves, and the Union. The nobles were of the table. They would provide little assistance in the human world and since they remained in Lukedonia, Xander couldn't go there to ask for assistance, especially since he wasn't a vampire.
The werewolves presented a similar problem, that being racial, but more so it was a worse destination as the current leader was cool with sacrificing his own people for power. Finally, the union were also off the table, as they would more than likely turn him into a guinea pig then help him.
Then that left the question. Where was he to go?
Well, it just so happened that there was another organisation or rather a group with incredibly overpowered individuals who happened to value human life quite highly.
Wouldn't they be the prefect bodyguards?
It also just so happened that he was in the capital city of south Korea, Seoul.
It seemed an extra caveat to this whole ordeal was that the memories Xander had observed despite being fragmented somehow gave Xander the ability to understand Korean.
As Xander made his way through the streets and alleyways, trying to avoid as many CCTV's as best as he could, he came across a store with clothing apparel visible through the window.
With a sigh, he broke the glass, effortlessly reaching inside and put on the clothes. Finally, tuning from a naked hobo to a normal child, despite the property damage and apparent theft.
"Damn, im becoming more of a criminal or as this county would say, a delinquent". Xander mused himself with his lackluster comedy to get his mind off his apparent doom should his assailants catch up to him.
Studying himself in the mirror, Xander wore an oversized leather jacket with baggy clothing. Unfortunately, the clothes in this store were much too big for him, resulting in him looking less like a law-abiding citizen and more so a delinquent with his added blonde hair.
It was at this moment he also noticed his features and height. Despite his age being 7 years old the body he occupied looked older, around 11 or 12 years of age.
Xander spent only a few more minutes there before he took off again, hoping to put as much distance between himself and even this store as possible.
Going through alleyways and streets under the cold expanse and darkness of the night, Xander moved until he found a secluded enough spot to lie low.
Behind another large multistorey building, Xander sunk into the shadows of the alleyway.
Xander couldn't do much at night. He didn't know the location of where he had to go and would need to ask people for directions.
Being so late at night, people wouldn't be mulling about, so Xander planned to ride the night out in hopes of finding the place tomorrow.
It would also be tomorrow when he would truly find out if he was in the world of 'Noblesse'. Any plans to kill the reincarnator were now far on the back burner. Right now, it was more important just to survive.
Though thinking about the reincarnator, a dark gleam steeled in Xander eyes. The situation was already ringing major alarm bells for Xander.
The previous world had been far easier than this one. The condition on Tatooine was worse, sure, but he had been dropped off closer to his target and hadn't really had much to worry about.
But this time the difficulty had evidently spiked!
Xander had a few theories about his current situation, something he had hoped wouldn't prove true, but as time was passing, he was being proved correct.
Xander had observed that so far, his targets all possessed systems. A system allowed for more rapid growth and Xander who lacked one, could only imagine how overpowered his targets would get during the passing of time.
It was only going to get harder from here on out!
Xander mulled these thought over as he entered a meditative posture. He wouldn't retreat into his mind space as he need to be alert to his surroundings, but he would recover what he could.
