Chapter 1: A Painful Death
"Wow, it's been a long time since I've been outside, and I forgot how beautiful it can be."
Elios, a loser who was scared of going outside ever since he graduated high school, was determined to do something good in this world for once in his life. Elios was a fit guy, pretty muscular and dawning a slightly above-average face. The only issue was, he was scared of talking to people. There are so many things to think about, how to respond to what they're saying and not seem weird, but also having to come out with a counter question hastily while making sure you aren't stuttering.
When Elios was in Junior High, every time the teacher called on him to read in front of the class he would stutter, stumbling over his words. His classmates would giggle as he did this, not thinking about it. Most people would quickly forget about this, but it stuck with him. Ever since then, he had been worried about every word he said to another person.
Elios was strolling on the sidewalk on a relatively busy street and noticed a woman about to be hit by a car. The car ran a red light, and she was simply walking on the crosswalk while she had time to. He leaped with everything he had, adrenaline kicking in, pushing the lady out of the car's way. Also dodging the car by a hair.
"Oh my God, thank you so much. You just saved my life.." The woman said thankfully, with the expression of someone who almost just died.
"Oh.. yeah.. it's no problem." After helping the lady up, Elios quickly retreated to the sidewalk opposite the lady he helped up. Suddenly, about 3 seconds later, Elios felt a jolt of sharp pain in his back. Before he realized this, he collapsed to the ground. Feeling the spot on his back with his hand where he felt the pain, he noticed a tiny hole.
A loud click, then a static noise arose above him. Lifting his gaze, he noticed a man in a black suit and black sunglasses holding a walkie-talkie.
"This is agent Psi, the target is neutralized, over."
Elios suddenly thought "Neutralized? Wait, could he think I'm dead? Sure, there's a gunshot in my back, but I'm not dead ye-"
Elios was shot in the head and killed.
