Chapter 2: Chapter 2: This is just a dream!
Emerging from the wreckage of what used to be a hospital, Alex, buried within the debris, gets up in a hurry, fueled more by the need to find Aisha than any logic.
"Gaah! Aisha! Haa..Haa..What the hell just happened? Some massive thing crashes into the hospital. Plane, maybe? Whatever it is, I've gotta find Aisha."
Scanning the scene, all that's left are the messed-up ruins of the hospital. Bracing for the worst, Alex tries to dig through the rocks, only to come face to face with something that turns his stomach.
Under the pile of rocks is a crushed body. This is some messed-up scene Alex never signed up for.
"Haa..What the actual hell is going on? Where's Aisha?"
In a kinda creepy response, a floating blue screen pops up out of nowhere.
**WORLD ANNOUNCEMENT**
*The reconstruction of V#3557 is done! Personal Windows handout starts in 5 seconds.*
A monotone voice echoes in Alex's head.
"What's this thing? And this voice in my head." Alex tries to touch the floating screen, but it's like his hands just passed through like a ghost.
*Distribution will start in 5.*
"Just what the hell is going on in this world?" Alex wonders.
*Distribution will start in 4.*
"Did I zone out while preparing the cake?"
*Distribution will start in 3.*
"Okay, this has to be a dream! I should wake up by now... Maybe I should slap myself?" Alex's thoughts get weirder as time ticks away.
*Distribution will start in 2.*
"Why's this dream dragging on?"
Suddenly, a box crashed onto Alex's head.
"Ouch..What was that? Huh? Isn't this the music box I gifted to Aisha?"
*Distribution will start in 1.*
**WORLD ANNOUNCEMENT**
*Distribution of Personal Windows has begun. Please mutter "Windows" to open your Personal Windows.*
The voice echoed in Alex's head.
"This voice is getting annoying by the minute. This dream is also getting more ridiculous the longer it goes on. Wait..they say a dream reflects one's personality.. Is this my inner personality? AHH.. I refuse to believe this! Someone wake me up, please!!"
Alex began panicking; he didn't want to accept that he has 8th-grade syndrome or the so-called "chuunibyou" sickness.
"Hey! Why are you panicking all of a sudden? Don't you want to see your Personal Window?"
A sweet and melodic voice suddenly entered Alex's ears from somewhere.
"Of course, I'm panicking! Nobody wants to be called a weirdo.. Uh? Who was that?"
Alex looked at his sides but didn't see anyone.
"Am I hallucinating? Are these the symptoms of chuunibyou? Ahh!! I don't want this!!."
"Down here! Look down, Alex!" The melodic voice echoed again.
"Down?" Alex looked down but only saw the beautiful white music box.
"The music box?" Alex said.
Suddenly, the music box glowed, and a beautiful little lady emerged from nothing.
This lady was so beautiful; she bore the same features as Aisha but with her graceful aura, those features were enhanced to the next level.
"Hi, Alex! I'm The Goddess in a Music Box. For other reasons, I can't say my name right now, but do not worry; I don't mean harm."
Alex just stared at the little lady; his brain was shutting down because of the absurd situation.
"Alex..? Hello??" The little lady floated in front of Alex's face and waved at him, trying to gain his attention.
"Hwaa!"
Alex woke up, and when he saw the little lady, he was startled and accidentally threw the music box.
This action earned the little lady's anger, and she said, "Geez! What was that for?! Don't you know that your little sister is inside? What will you do if she was hurt?"
When Alex heard what the lady said, he was alarmed. He regained his senses and asked the lady.
"My sister? Is Aisha in that box?" Alex asked, even though he couldn't believe it.
"Of course! How did you think I protected her with that level of collision earlier?" The lady asked with her melodic voice.
'Right. So this is not a dream? Then what's happening right now? Wait, that collision should've killed me, or if I'm lucky, severely injured me. How am I alive right now and even unscratched?' Alex pondered.
Alex looked at the lady and asked.
"Ms. Goddess in the Music Box, did you protect me from the collision earlier? And what was that thing that crashed into the hospital? Honestly, what is even happening? Can you explain it to me?"
"Wait..wait... Too many questions! I'll answer one by one. First, I did not protect you from that collision. If I did, you should be in the music box right now, am I right?" The lady answered.
"I see. That makes sense. Then how am I alive right now? Did I turn into a superhuman or something?" Alex contemplated.
"Second, the thing that crashed into this place is a Mother Worm, it's a monster from a different realm."
"A monster?! And that thing is a worm?! That was just as big as an airplane! Where did that thing come from?"
Alex was shocked. If that thing roams around freely, chaos and destruction will follow.
"As for your third question, didn't you hear the first world announcement?" The lady raised her brows at Alex.
"First world announcement? When did that happen? If it's after the collision of that worm, then I think I was unconscious at that time. Hehe."
Alex was embarrassed, missing important information and appearing like a fool in front of the little lady.
"Haa..I wonder how that young lady grew so beautiful with your personality."
"This world has undergone a reconstruction or you may call it an evolution. Like how every level up gains new ability, an evolution unlocks new feutures, an example is Mana."
"Now that this world has evolved, it can now produce an energy called mana. Mana is the source or fuel to do unimaginable things."
"You asked what is Monsters right? Monsters are creatures that invades worlds, they're sole purpose is to destroy every world that they encounter. "
"Normally, a world has a protection barrier set up to not let a single Monster get in, however when this world is in a state of reconstruction, the barrier was temporarily weakened, causing Monsters to get in."
"Now, does that answer your questions?" The lady said, with a single breath.
'I can't believe she said that in one breath.' Alex was amazed.
"I still have one question." Alex said.
"What is it?" the lady said.
"Is it ok to be relaxed in here? Won't that worm come back?" Alex asked.
Alex was concerned that it will come back, if it did, he don't have anything that can fight a gigantic worm. The exact reason why he's anxious.
"Don't worry, Monsters are categorized in three types."
"A Normal Monster - this monster is the most common you can see."
"A Mother Monster - this monster is as it's called, it's main purpose is to breed, this types of monsters has strong defenses."
"A Progenitor Monster - this monster is the highest and considered the strongest in the category, Progenitor's special ability is gaining the power to think. Very rarely, one amongst them may even learn how to communicate."
"And 7 Mother Monsters successfully invaded this world. Well, you shouldn't worry today because they have to find a shelter first. You should worry the day after, since a Mother reproduce in a very fast rate."
"Luckily, a Progenitor Monster didn't invade in this world so no need to worry. Unless.." The lady paused.
"Unless??"
"Nothing! That's very unlikely to happen so I don't think it's necessary for you to know."
"That's all your questions right? Now, it's time for my turn!" The lady was unusually excited, contradicting to her usual calm aura.
'Somehow, I get a bad feeling about what she's gonna do.' Alex thought.
"Now that I answered all your questions don't you think you should repay me for my kindness? This informations are priceless you know?" The lady was talking with an evil smile on her face.
"Y-Yes! I also think I should repay you. What may I do for you?" That smile is creepy..
"Show me you're Personal Window! How about it? A small deal right? Not bad right? Hehehe"
'Why is she talking like a swindler?' Alex thought.
"My Personal Window? That's all?" Alex thought she was gonna demand something very valuable but her request throws him off guard.
"Yes, that's all!" The lady smiled.
"Well, I still didn't see my window yet so perfect timing. I should just mutter the word Window right? That's easy enough."
Alex thought it was an easy deal. No! It was a bargain. But he didn't know, this was the biggest mistake that he ever did in his life. Showing his window to this lunatic lady!
"Window!"
