Chapter 99: Chapter 099

When the smoke cleared, the entire area was filled to the brim with copies of Naruto. Every nook and cranny of the area was filled with them, even in all the branches of the trees. "What's up, Mizuki-teme?" shouted one of the Narutos.

"Yeah, thought you were gonna kill us all in one shot?" another joked.

"Well, since you're not coming to us, we're coming to you!" And with that, the countless number of clones descended upon Mizuki and began to pummel him; the numbers were simply too much for someone like him to handle alone.

Iruka was amazed.

He knew Naruto had become very strong.

But not to the point of filling an entire forest clearing with the most complex clone jutsu known to Konoha, and seemingly doing it effortlessly.

That had to take an unholy amount of chakra, how could he-?

Oh, right, that... duh.

In a matter of moments, Naruto and his countless Kage Bunshin had beaten Mizuki to a pulp, leaving a remaining Naruto standing over his upside-down form with a shy smile, "Guess I overdid it a bit, huh?"

Iruka wasn't sure if the sunlight hitting his face was from the sunrise or from the smile spreading across Naruto's face.

.....

(The next day)

Naruto had received a stern scolding from Tsunade after returning the Sealing Scroll with Iruka the night before.

Anyway, after being reprimanded for half an hour, Tsunade praised him for protecting Iruka the way he did, showing that he did have the Will of Fire.

She supported Iruka's decision not to punish him severely and proceeded to give Naruto all the information he needed to orient himself for the next week; where to go for the actual orientation based on his actions.

On the other hand, Iruka asked him to meet him at the Academy the next day along with his mother.

It wasn't anything serious, Kushina simply limited herself to apologize to Iruka.

Which seemed extremely strange to him, the little time he knew Kushina, every time she was called out for one of Naruto's pranks.

Kushina didn't hold back at all.

But this time, she simply expressed her most sincere apologies.

However, Iruka didn't pay too much attention to this, after all, it was a good thing.

When they arrived home, Kushina quickly asked Naruto with excitement.

"Tell me, did you manage to memorize it?".

Naruto rubbed his head with a bit of embarrassment.

"I didn't expect Iruka-sensei to find me so quickly, it was impossible to memorize it, but Kurama agreed to help me, it was easier for him than for me."

At the beginning of his words, Kushina showed a blank expression, but upon hearing the last part, she sighed in relief.

"That's better. Minato was truly a genius, although I helped him a lot with the seals, his formula for the Hiraishin was very difficult to learn. And Minato didn't dare to casually leave it on a scroll. He only told me that he had improved the Second Hokage's technique and rewritten it with his formula."

Saying this, Kushina showed a nostalgic expression as she remembered Minato's smile and excitement back then.

"Minato was an incredibly kind man, look at him leaving his own ninjutsu in the hands of those old fogies."

But then she showed a furious expression.

The plan had been successful.

Days ago, Kushina was looking for a way to let Naruto learn the Hiraishin.

However, she didn't have enough merit to borrow the forbidden seal scroll.

Come on, not even the Elder Advisors are allowed to take it.

It's strictly reserved only for the Hokage.

And knowing Tsunade, she wouldn't allow such favoritism towards her son.

So she began to devise a plan.

But who would have thought that Tsunade herself would come to her house to ask for some seals from her clan to improve education in Konoha.

In these times of peace, the graduation rate has plummeted completely.

They had a heated discussion, and Kushina finally agreed.

She wrote a few simple seals and handed them to Tsunade.

Tsunade promised her that her action would naturally be rewarded.

But Kushina didn't care about this.

In the midst of their conversation, she knew there was a eavesdropper.

And an idea occurred to her.

To encourage Naruto to steal the scroll.

So she began to talk until Naruto became interested and asked her about the sealing scroll.

They devised a plan for Naruto to steal the scroll without raising suspicions.

And everything went as planned.

It remained a simple curiosity of a child overhearing an adult conversation.

He was deceived by his Academy teacher that nothing bad would happen if he stole the scroll or even if he handed it over.

And with Iruka's statement, Kushina was not implicated in this.

Everything had gone perfectly, so much so that Kushina spent the last hours of the day feeling a bit paranoid.

She truly didn't expect the substitute teacher Mizuki to inconsistently help them.

However, nothing happened.

On the other hand…..

It would be easier if she asked for it in a clan meeting for her contribution to protecting the village in the previous battle.

But she knew that Tsunade was not the only one who could make this decision.

This matter had to be consulted with those old fogies, including Hiruzen in his retirement.

And Kushina knew they didn't like her at all, especially Danzo.

And with Danzo's refusal, this matter would only reach a deadlock.
