Chapter 58: End of the Cycle

POV Silvia Indrath

I kept running desperately towards Julian, dodging all the hands and branches of Ether that were in my way.

I had realized that after entering this place, I could use some of the abilities I had before becoming this spiritual form.

That helped me get closer quickly and safely, my heart was agitated by this situation where I think no other imaginary Asura would be.

I think probably the only person who would have felt something similar to me would be one of my ancestors, Arkanus Indrath.

I wondered if he really felt like me when he fought Geolus, I know this being in front of me is not even close to being as powerful as my father, he might not even be more powerful than Lord Aldir, but in my current state he is very dangerous and the impression he gives is of absolute dread.

Especially the place where I am looks like a barren land, a purple sky, with winds of a washing color and black floors that gave the impression of walking through hell.

Anyone would go into a state of madness if they lasted too long in this place, I thought to myself as I was only a few steps away from Baby Julian, I smiled inwardly because of my successful approach.

When I knelt down to see him better, my spiritual form allowed me to see the cluster of light that was Julian's soul surrounded by purple chains that held him and next to them another small point of light that I was not aware of before.

Attracted by this small light I brought my hand closer to it and when I did the world turned completely black I saw nothing around, nor did I feel a floor on which I was standing.

Before I could get nervous or enter a state of absolute chaos, a small light came on in front of me

It was the small light that I had tried to touch before, it was in front of me as if it was watching me and measuring my intentions.

It flew around my body in circles for a few seconds and stopped in front of me, its light blinked as if it was trying to tell me something, but I couldn't understand it.

That little light decided to stop blinking and instead shone blindingly, when I recovered from the sudden flash and my eyes adjusted to the light, I was in a space of purple tones.

It was like a prison and chained inside that room was a translucent and humanoid silhouette, firmly attached to the walls.

The light by my side told me to help him by pushing me closer to what seemed to be Julian's soul.

When I was in front of him I looked carefully at the chains that bound him and saw that they had runes engraved on them.

Aren't these marks similar to the runes of the Djinn?, I thought as I frowned.

But who?, Agrona?; will he be the one who created that thing? I thought to myself. Almost immediately the light pressed my cheek again indicating its hurry.

I reminded myself that the time I had was short, so I began to influence the Ether to free him, the process to imprison him here was complicated, but removing it requires less effort.

In a way it's like tying shoes, so the process was relatively simple, when I managed to remove it the prison dismantled itself and I returned to the purple space of the fragment with the monster of hundreds of eyes looking at me with absolute hostility.

I had already achieved the first objective by coming here, which was to snatch control over Julian, the question now is, how do I get him out of here safely without affecting the future I know?

Can I open a portal to the Elshire forest?, when I thought about trying to get him out of here in any way possible, the voice of the dragon woman who brought me here resonated again.

"It's time".

With those words Julian disappeared from my side and a multicolor portal appeared in front of me

"This portal will take you home, and tell the boy that this is only the first step to get his freedom and also tell him that the soul never forgets no matter how much they try to take away his essence".

After those words without waiting too long I ran towards the portal finding a way out of this place, that's how my journey ended seeing the past of a boy who never gave up and what once were his miserable futures as a hero.

POV Julian Kingscrown

"Brother, do you think she'll be okay? It's been two days and she hasn't shown any signs of waking up soon," Sylvie asked worriedly.

"I don't know, I was hoping it would take some time to regain consciousness, but I never expected it to be two days"; besides, the biggest problem is that everything looks fine, from her soul to her body, I replied as those thoughts crossed my mind.

Two days ago I had the confidence to bring her back without any problem, but reality hit me back making it clear that things can't be that easy.

Not only that, Mordain mentioned two worrying things to me after taking Silvia's body to a suitable place, he said that using the assimilation with Frei made my soul and the fragment inside me merge, which entails a great risk, as that could damage my soul.

The other thing, although less worrying and with a minimal risk, was that something stirred my soul again, after Silvia's body materialized there was something of her that came into contact with me.

That in Mordain's words caused waves in my soul, not in a negative way, but I do believe it created some kind of change within me.

At first I was skeptical because I didn't feel anything abnormal, but with the passing of the two days until today, I think I know what it is, although I'm not very sure.

"Boy, are you going to stay until she wakes up?" I heard Mordain's voice coming into the room where Silvia was.

"Yes, I think it's better that way; after all I can't leave you all the responsibility of taking care of Silvia," I replied, giving him a quick glance.

"Avier told me they're waiting for you in Xyrus and there seem to be a lot of people who want to talk to you; that's why you should leave Silvia to my care and take care of the matters on your side, if you're worried about her condition I think you already know she's fine she just needs some time to wake up," Mordain said kindly.

I knew what he was telling me was right, but I didn't feel it was right to leave Silvia like that, here in Hearth.

"I'm going to go to the pit that Avier mentioned to me to shorten the time of my stay here, but if I come back and Silvia is still not awake I won't leave," I replied slowly.

"Do you want me to go with you?" Sylvie asked as she stroked her mother's white hair.

"No, I want Silvia to have someone close to her when she wakes up in case I'm not here," I replied.

"Do you want me to send someone with you?" Mordain asked.

"I'm fine like this, in fact it would be more dangerous if someone could feel the mana signature of the Asuras and find us," I replied.

"I won't insist any more if you've thought it through, just consider being careful; the clearings are not a playground," Mordain advised.

"Thank you, I'll be careful," I know better than anyone, that the clearings are becoming less safe with the Alacryans roaming around.

This will be my last trip, I thought as I stretched a little, after that many things will change even the way of communicating with Hearth.

Probably, when I come back here, it will be like a spear; "hhhaaahh", don't get ahead of yourself, I scolded myself as I left the room where Silvia was.

That night I tried to sleep comfortably, but with everything that was going on I can't say it was the best night I've ever had.

Fortunately, this body has its advantages and little by little it begins to mature with me.

I took a bath and got everything ready to go out, I also asked Galia through the mental link to wait for me outside the dungeon, with everything that was going on everyone was in Elenoir or Xyrus guarded waiting for orders.

I was worried that they would be attacked and poisoned by the Alacryans, hence the reason to keep them away from the clearings and in their smallest form not the real one.

"Are you sure you don't want me to go with you?" Sylvie asked me as I left my room.

Because of Silvia's appearance, Sylvie usually sleeps with her in her room, which was in one of the most guarded places in Hearth.

"No, the training would be useless if I had to take you with me all the time," I replied giving her a smile.

"Do you hate being with me?" Sylvie replied in a malicious tone.

"You know better than anyone that it's not like that," I replied as I stroked her hair.

Her face softened with this gesture and she gave me a hug right away, "I know, who's going to take care of you, if not me, be careful Chul told me that the lesser Leviathans are aggressive with visitors"; my bond spoke with a sincere and worried voice.

"I will," I replied returning the hug.

I wondered why Sylvie never called me dad as she did with Arthur in the novel, from the beginning it was brother and it has been until now.

Thinking about it, more and more variables appear that I have left without questioning and others that maybe I gave too much attention to.

I guess this is what they call the butterfly effect, it can create a storm somewhere else.

Sylvie said goodbye to me and went back to take care of Silvia, I for my part said goodbye to Evascir and was going to do the same with Chul, but he wanted to accompany me to the entrance of Hearth.

Where apparently Mordain was waiting for me, it was too respectful of him to do that being the leader of this place.

It was something uncomfortable for me, it was not like when we talked and he came to look for me, this felt more like saying goodbye to an important person.

"Why did you cut your hair?" I heard Chul taking me out of my thoughts.

"Ohhh, well, there's someone I know with the same haircut, so I wanted to avoid being bothered by him," I replied sincerely.

After all being honest it would feel weird that Arthur and I had the same cut.

"It's a pity, I felt that little by little you looked more like us," he replied.

"Maybe later I'll let it grow, but for now it's not my idea," I said.

We kept walking towards the exit of Hearth while commenting on trivialities, talking to Chul was in a certain sense, like talking to the beast races in the animes of my past life.

The perfect representation of strength makes order, he was not stupid; although he certainly was a simple-minded person, because of that it was easy to get information out of him if I tried.

"Do you know why Mr. Mordain decided to wait for me outside Hearth?" I asked.

"I know your games, so I won't tell you anything," he said crossing his arms with a tone of self-sufficiency.

I guess even a muscle brain can learn, I smiled giving him an arrogant look.

"Annoying" I heard him whisper.

He's so simple and easy to understand, I understand how Sylvie could make him angry so easily.

When we were several meters from the entrance, I could see Mordain with something in his hands; it was covered by a red cloth, but by its size I thought I knew what it was.

Hoping not to be wrong and being prudent, I deliberately ignored my thoughts in case it really wasn't what I was thinking.

"You're here Julian," he said with his usual kind tone.

"Yes, the faster I get back, the better it will be for everyone," I replied.

"You're right, I'll take good care of lady Silvia and lady Sylvie, so think very well if you have the need to stay here when you come back," Mordain said trying to remind me that I should go back to Xyrus.

I know better than anyone that I have to meet with Cynthia, Virion and Gideon as soon as possible, even the Glayder family has been looking for me, but I don't think it's right to leave Silvia here like that.

Mordain, seeing my reaction, put his hand on my shoulder and spoke again, "sometimes the right thing is not necessarily what has to be done, that was something you taught me after the incident with your third phase".

Remembering the words I said to him when I had just woken up after that incident, I nodded, "you're right, Mr. Mordain".

Somewhat reluctant, I was saying goodbye, to go quickly to those pits and return to Xyrus, but before I could do that, Mordain gave me what he had in his hands, "this is for you, a token of our alliance and goodwill, just as you shared your artifacts with us, we also want to give you something in a sign of conciliation".

Carefully, I received it, perceiving fully what it was, I removed the cloak that covered it and saw the beautiful design of a sword

It was a beautiful one-handed sword, with the handle and the edges of the blade of a deep black color, the center of a vibrant red tone and finally some fine decorations that joined the handle and the blade.

"We knew you were having trouble with your sword because the mana it can withstand is limited, so we decided it would be a good gift for you when you left," Chul said.

"I thank you very much, I was really thinking of finding another sword, but this one is much better," I replied as I swung it.

"How does it feel?" Mordain asked.

"Amazing, it's very light and its cutting power is very high at first sight," I stopped swinging it and saw an engraving on the blade.

"Stormbringer," I whispered softly.

"It means storm bearer," Mordain said.

It's not a bad name and I think it suits me.

Saying goodbye to Mordain and Chul, I thanked them deeply for the gift and headed to the sea pits where the Leviathans were.

I hope nothing unusual happens, I begged in my mind.
