Chapter 17: Marinopia
"Sir Yoshinobu, the ship isn't over there."
I head for the pier where nothing is docked.
"It's fine, this spot is good."
I summon an amphibious aircraft.
Meant for rescue, but it works for now.
"What in the world is that..."
"Let's go, Mr. Moss."
I board the aircraft with funds to buy spices and depart.
"It's flying!!"
Moss panics.
"It's ok, calm down. We'll get there quick this way."
My attempts to soothe are useless, soon he starts praying instead.
"We've arrived, Mr. Moss."
In about 10 hours we reach our destination, Marinepier. But it took Moss an hour to recover.
Guided by the recovered Moss, we go to Lucas Company's Marinepier branch.
"Mr. Moss! What happened?"
Seems someone recognized Moss, as he explains.
"So we just need to gather spices?"
"Yes, will there be enough volume?"
"No problem. With the rough seas, all the companies are hesitant to buy, driving down prices. We can get them cheap now."
"That's good news. Please handle the purchase."
"We'll arrange it right away!"
The company men rush around town as night falls.
Meanwhile I sleep the whole time, exhausted from piloting.
The next morning, a large amount of spices gathers at the branch.
"That was quick."
"Everyone is desperate to sell if there's a buyer."
Moss explains.
"Then let's load them onto the plane."
I summon the aircraft at the harbor and have the cargo loaded.
"Pardon me, did you come from Lard?"
A well-dressed young man calls out.
"Yes, I'm Yoshinobu of Lucas Company, came from Lard yesterday."
"Do you have a way to reach Lard through the storm?"
"I do. I plan to return after loading the cargo."
"Then could you take me back as well?"
"Um, it's not a passenger ship so I shouldn't take too many people..."
"Of course, I won't complain. Please, I urgently need to return."
He pleads sincerely.
"Alright. But with much cargo I can't carry many passengers."
"Then could you take me and two others?"
"That's fine. But I can't guarantee comfort. Is that acceptable?"
"Thank you! I'll go prepare immediately."
"Oh, may I have your name?"
"My apologies. I'm Dean Maldrado. I look forward to traveling with you."
"Likewise, pleased to make your acquaintance."
After greeting me, Dean leaves with his companions.
