Chapter 12: The future (Short chapter)
[Arnold POV]
" I think that went well." I said walking out of the building. I had just auditioned for the music company and they told me that they'd call me. All in all, I think I got the slot. But now for some important things. As I walk home I think of what to do from this point on.
'Well I'm basically stuck at this point as far as El is concerned. I'll have to wait till Darkseid or some other guy invade.' I think to myself. As I'm walking I see a pizzeria.
' Can't say I don't want it. ' I say to myself and walk inside.
As I walk inside the store I see a man with blond hair, wearing a blue suit with a face I recognise all too well.
" Leo! How's it going " I call out to my brother. I didn't expect to see him so soon.
"Ah Arnold, nice to see you." Leo started. "I was just grabbing a quick bite to eat. What about you?". Leo questions.
"I was planning to do the same. But now that we're both here, let's talk about some important things." I say to Leo.
" Sure, let's sit down." Leo replied. Both of us take a seat. "Now, what do you want to talk about."
"You saw the news?" I question him.
"Of course. It was sort of hard to miss. Earth's defenders and all" he replies.
"Well yeah. The thing is it seems my system wants me to get actively involved with the heroes." I say to my brother. I wasn't just saying it without proof either.
My system seemed to be issuing missions that would get me actively involved with the league.
For example, one of El's missions stated that I have to 'help stop 1 invasion of earth.' I'm assuming that I help the justice league.
After I explain this to Leo he stops and thinks for a bit.
"Weird, I never received such a mission from Corn. Maybe because you wanted to get involved with the league.... The system is helping you do so?" Leo hypothesised.
"My thoughts exactly. Well we have until the next invasion of earth to deal with it. I want you to get as strong as possible for it as well. You know, Just in case i get in trouble." I tell him to be prepared.
" I understand. I'll be strong enough to deal with whatever gets in your way." Leo says with a confident smile.
"So how strong are you anyway" I ask. He just points at his hair.
"No way. You got that already?" I ask in disbelief. Man I thought I was busted. But this guy might have me beat. Oh well, what's the problem with it. He may be strong but once I get «Limitless».... He won't be able to touch me. The only one who can counter me at that point is probably John .... and that too only if he manages to awaken that power.

After the both of us have lunch me and my brother head our separate ways. I return home and lay down on the bed.
'This is going to be a pain in my ass.' I think while staring at the ceiling. I know I volunteered for it but still, it's the justice league. Who knows what might happen.
"Well I'll think about it when it comes down to it" I decide.
'No use fearing for the future while avoiding the present.' I think while I head to sleep.

A/N: Well guys, that's the prologue volume. I'll plan the overall structure of volume 1 today. So this chapter will be half the size. Up next is volume 2: First contact.
