Chapter 3: Wand

Looking at the parchment, Atreus said "So, is there anything I should know?"

"Except for the fact that your father's family was a third generation magician, nothing more." McGonagall said with a nostalgic look. Shaking her head, she said to Silverclaw "I believe that the Creed Family account is present here?"

"Yes it is. If you have the key then, we can go to the vault, if you don't then I can't do anything." Silverclaw said with a wide grin.

Turning to Atreus she asked "Do you have a key Mr. Creed?"

Taking off a necklace that he's been wearing he showed it to Silverclaw and asked "Is this the key?"

Nodding his head with a sour look, Silverclaw said "That is the key for the Creed Family vault."

"Then let's get to the vault." McGonagall said a little impatiently.

They followed Silverclaw and went down two floors and reached Vault No. 1324.

Looking at Atreus, Silverclaw said "That's your Vault, you can open it yourself."

Nodding at the Silverclaw, Atreus went ahead and opened the Vault. As the Vault door opened, Atreus saw that there was a stack of Galleons. Getting inside he observed the vault for a bit and spotted one trunk with initials "A.C".

Atreus readily understood that the trunk is some sort of gift from his deceased parents. Sighing in a bit of sadness, he went ahead and touched the trunk.

As soon as he touched it, it shrunk. Picking it up and pocketing it he muttered "Neat."

Going towards the stack of gold, he took at least a hundred Galleons and went out of the vault where Prof. McGonagall and Silverclaw were waiting.

"Prof. McGonagall, I have the money, shall we leave." Atreus asked her.

"Certainly, Mr. Creed." Then looking at Silverclaw she said "Thank you for your assistance."

"Certainly." Was all Silverclaw said.

After returning to the lobby, Atreus left the bank with McGonagall and the Grangers.

They first went to get their uniform, then went to get the books and they purchased everything they needed that was written in the letter.

While they were buying books, Atreus bought books on Wizarding Laws, History of Magic and History of Magical Britain. Seeing that, Mr. Granger also bought the same books so that he could understand more about the Wizarding world that his daughter would be studying for the next seven years.

When they passed by the pet shop, Atreus looked through the window as they passed by and saw so many pets in there 'I should come back and buy one for myself after getting my wand.'

A couple of turns and twists they reached an old shop with a board "Ollivander's: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC".

Looking at the Grangers, McGonagall said "Getting a wand is a special event of sorts for a witch or wizard. So, Mr. & Mrs. Granger, you can enter first with Hermione, I'll wait here with Mr. Creed."

"Alright." Saying so, the Granger family entered the wand shop.

As they entered, McGonagall asked Atreus "Did you take that trunk from your Vault?"

Nodding at her he said with a smile "Yes Prof., the trunk had my initials etched on it. I believe that it's a gift from my father."

Turning to look at her he asked "If you don't mind, can you tell me about my father?"

With a nostalgic look she said "He was a student who liked to study and help his friends in the time of need. But also a bit aggressive towards whoever tried to antagonise his friends." Releasing a sigh she continued with a hint of sadness "He was a good man, had his heart in the right place, he was getting ready to become an Assistant Professor in Ancient Runes, but fate had other plans for him."

Raising an eyebrow at the end, Atreus asked her "What happened to him?"

Sighing again, McGonagall said "He was killed in the War against You-Know-Who and his Death Eaters."

"For what reason?" Atreus asked with a hint of fury in his voice.

"I believe it was because he married a No-Maj. The Death Eaters were advocates of Pure Blood supremacy." McGonagall said.

"So that's what that was all about, huh." Atreus said to himself, but McGonagall heard it, so he asked him "What do you mean by that, Mr. Creed?"

"I wasn't sure before, but I do have a memory of my parents hiding me inside a cupboard and there were flashes of green and red light. That is the only memory I have of them and I don't know how I ended up in the orphanage either." Atreus replied while bringing back the only memory he had of his parents.

Placing her hand on his shoulder, McGonagall said "It's alright, Atreus. Your parents loved you and wanted you to survive."

"I know Professor." Atreus replied and went silent after that.

Just then the shop door opened and the Granger Family came out, with Hermione holding on to a wand with a bright smile.

Smiling at the enthusiastic girl, McGonagall said "Mr. Creed, you should enter now."

Silently nodding at her, he entered the shop and walked up to the table where an old man was standing.

As soon as the old man saw Atreus, he spoke "Mr. Creed. I was wondering when I would meet you."

"And why is that?" Atreus asked.

"Well, your father was interested in Wandlore and he had come to study under me during his summer vacations." The old man said with nostalgia "Anyway, I'm Garrick Ollivander."

"Atreus Creed." Atreus introduced himself.

"Well Mr. Creed, shall we find the wand for you?" Ollivander paused and continued "A wand chooses a wizard Mr. Creed. And if I remember right, your father had a wand of 10 ¾ inches Walnut Wood, Unicorn tail hair core Flexible."

Ollivander walked to the shelves and took a bunch of boxes and came toward Atreus. Placing them on the counter, Ollivander said "12 inches, Walnut, unicorn tail hair, bendy."

As Atreus held the wand given to him in his hand, the vase that was placed near the window shattered. "Not this one..." Taking the wand off of Atreus, Ollivander started to give him different types of wands.

At the fifth wand, a reaction occurred, with a symphony of animal sounds a white light was produced that warmed the room.

Smiling at the reaction of the wand, Ollivander said "It seems the wand has chosen you Mr. Creed. 7 3⁄4 inches in length, Ebony with Dragon Heartstring core, unyielding."

Looking at Ollivander Atreus asked with a smile "How much is it?"

"That will be seven Galleons, Mr. Creed." Ollivander said.

Nodding his head, Atreus gave seven Galleons to Ollivander and asked while pointing at one shelf "What are those?"

Looking back where he was pointing, Ollivander said "That would be wand maintenance kit and wand holster. You can have the maintenance kit, but you can't buy the holster, unless you are in your second year."

"Why second year?" Atreus asked.

"So that you would understand and have strengthened your bond with your wand." Ollivander said.

"Understood. Then I'll take one maintenance kit." Atreus said.

"Good. Now that would be ten Galleons." Ollivander said.

Paying the money, Atreus said "Thank you Mr. Ollivander."

"You're welcome." Ollivander said to Atreus.

As he came out of the shop, McGonagall said "Now, I'll show you where you will start your journey to Hogwarts."

"Alright." Saying so, Atreus along with McGonagall and the Granger family went to King's Cross station and there, McGonagall gave the ticket and instructions on how to enter the platform.

After that, McGonagall sent Atreus to the orphanage with his school supplies and went back to Hogwarts to report her duties.
