Chapter 2: Chapter 2 – Reborn in Another World
Shadows flooded my world as I drifted. This was a unique feeling.
The sensation of weightlessness assailed and comforted me. It was as if I was floating in a drifting sea. In the midst of this peace, my mind remembered every accomplishment I had. Only to realize that my life was pathetic. I never accomplished anything significant or even caught anyone's attention.
The only consolation I had was that I was able to defeat the demon king successfully.
Not knowing where I was, an almost transparent bluish screen appeared in front of my face next to a robotic voice.

I didn't know what was going on. This voice was really annoying and my eyelids were too heavy to open and look for the source of the noise. I just wanted to sleep.

This voice was really annoying, so I desperately opened my eyes trying to look for the source and curse it to death. What I didn't expect was that my surroundings would change instantly.
Around me were several booksellers with books that look very old. On the floor was a magic circle stained with blood. I couldn't recognize this magic circle.
Instantly a huge headache came over me and many memories replayed in my brain.
The name of the owner of these souvenirs was a guy named Merlin von Diluc. Merlin belonged to a noble family from the Diamond Kingdom. I was immediately surprised that this realm did exist in the game of Tales of magic and demons.
Thinking it was a coincidence, temporarily, I resumed the study of these memories. Merlin's family was broken. All the money in the treasury had been spent or stolen by the servants of the house only to then go.
This family's misfortune didn't just stop here. Merlin was the only male in the family, having to inherit his father's title after his death at the hands of bandits. From that moment on, everything went downhill.
No one respected Merlin, and the nobles of the surrounding lands began to steal taxes from the villages within the Diluc family's territory.
The most unfortunate thing was that Merlin had no talent for either magic or swordsmanship. He was considered the misfortune of the family. He had no other relatives and was currently only a titled nobleman. Since he lost all his political power. He did not have the strength to assume the position, causing no citizen to see him as their feudal lord.
If this continued, he only expected to lose the title of Marquis. This situation pushed him into a bottomless abyss where despair consumed him and tore his flesh.
With no other options, he decided to try something stupid. Within his family's library there was a book, which the founder called cursed, detailing the process of making a truly dangerous spell.
If the ritual succeeded, then Merlin would have gained unimaginable power. What I didn't expect was that the book would be in a lost language that was only passed verbally to each head of the family. His continual laziness and ineptitude caused him to confuse various ingredients.
In the end everything got out of hand and the spell claimed his life. Wanting to know more in detail about this spell, I picked up the book and took a look at it.
I could recognize the origin of this language as it was English. Within the world of Tales of Magic and Demons there was no such language. Which made me think that I wasn't the only one to have crossed into this world.
Despite the beautiful literature with which the ancestors described this spell, the truth is that it was garbage.
This spell took your life force and circulated it as mana in your body. Every spell you cast would take your life. I put the book down on the desk and a neutral robotic voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
