Chapter 46: STIRRING TROUBLE

"You don't say!! Even your growl over the phone makes the bite vibrate, "I complained and Conri laughed. 

He went silent on the phone and I knew he wanted to speak but held back." Husband, I am listening," I encouraged while I prepared to eat.

"Nothing much, just that I wonder why you have never asked me what happened to Lupe" 

"Do you want to tell me?" My body froze in reaction.

"I do" 

"How about we go to the cabin this weekend? That will assure us privacy" 

"Okay." He responded. 

"What else?" I pressed on.

"Nothing, " Another monologue answer. I knew he was holding back, and I let it go " Husband, sooner or later, you will have no choice but to bear it all to me. I will be waiting " 

"Mhhh" He responded. 

" Bye." I disconnected the call before he annoyed me further and enjoyed the little steps that he was making.
