Chapter 17: Money

Swish...

A sharp slash to the right.

Whoosh...

A swift horizontal strike to the left.

Swish... Whoosh...

My sword sliced through the air with precision and speed. Wherever I willed my blade to go, it followed with unwavering accuracy.

It was a stark difference to my earlier attempts when I've just woken up in this world and the sword felt foreign in my hands.

Although I'm still nowhere close to being a master swordsman, the progress I've made in such a short time is astonishing.

'At least this body has talent for swordsmanship...'

A small smirk formed on my face as I twirled the weapon between my fingers, feeling its weight and balance.

Minutes blurred and I lost myself in the rhythmic flow of the swordplay.

"I should take a break."

Finally, after some time of rigorous training, I decided to pause and rest. More than an hour had passed after I had begun my sword practice, and my muscles were starting to feel the strain.

Ughhh...

Stretching my back, I lifted my eyes for the first time in a while, taking in the view of the training grounds.

It was empty except for the lone figure standing further down the field.

The guy had a tall, muscular build and a serious expression on his face. His movements were precise and practiced as he swung his Scythe in a fluid motion.

"Eldric."

I instantly recognized the man, feeling my face contort with dread.

I was too careless and let my guard down.

If I kept track of my surroundings, there was no way I wouldn't have noticed Eldric's presence earlier.

'Time to leave.'

Sheathing my sword, I quickly made my way toward the exit of the training grounds, attempting to sneak away without drawing Eldric's attention

I had to keep my distance from these protagonists.

"That was close."

Stepping out of the training grounds, I released a sigh of relief. Although training requires dedication and focus, it's also important to be aware of your surroundings and prioritize safety.

Anyways, I didn't let those thoughts consume me for long.

As I walked back to my dormitory, I began to make plans for the day.

I decided that today I wouldn't train any further, as I had already pushed my body to its limit, and prioritize gaining some money.

Although this world is from a fantasy novel and magic exists, money is still one of the most important resources.

With money one can buy powerful artifacts, weapons, hire skilled allies, buy skills, weapon arts, purchase training materials, the list goes on and on.

Therefore, if I want to become stronger and survive in this world, I need to secure a stable income and, of course, I'm not talking about a regular job or steady paycheck.

I'm a transmigrator and not using my knowledge of the future would be a wasted opportunity.

Now the question is, how can I use my knowledge to make money in this fantasy world?

"Should I start a business?"

I scratched my chin.

Nah, it seems too time consuming and I'm too lazy to handle the logistics of running a business. Of course, I could hire managers to handle it but that would require a lot of initial investment and, for now, I have no such budget.

Instead, I pondered on the idea of investing in stocks.

I knew what companies would become successful in the future so it would be a smart move to invest in them now while they are still in their early stages.

"I should take out a student loan..."

Right now, I had a little below 1,000$ left in my bank account, which wouldn't be enough for me to make substantial investments. If I wanted to make a significant profit and take advantage of my knowledge, I needed to acquire more capital.

"..."

Changing my walking direction, I headed toward the main building of the Sword Academy where the administration office was located.

I quickly entered the office and approached the receptionist.

It didn't take me long to take out a student loan application form and fill it out with the necessary personal and financial information.

With that my account balance increased by 50,000$, providing me with the necessary capital to start investing in stocks and potentially make significant profits.

"This should be enough."

Looking at my phone's screen with sparking eyes, I smirked.

Without wasting any more time, I rushed to my apartment and slumped down on my couch that really needed some cleaning. There was a lot of dust.

However, I wasn't bothered by the mess around me, my eyes were fixed on the colorful graphs and charts of the stock market displayed on my phone.

I wanted to make the most out of my investment.

And the company that would yield the highest returns now was...

The Archtung Inc.
