Chapter 3: Aurora

Chapter 3

Alpha Charles staring at a fiery werewolf figure which was a terrifying sight to behold.

It was tall and imposing, its silhouette distorted and twisted in the dim light. Its eyes were glowing a fierce red, piercing through the darkness. The figure was draped in shadows, making it difficult for Alpha Charles to make out its features. But the aura it exuded was enough to send chills down his spine.

The figure stood there, its glowing eyes fixed on Alpha Charles. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, his wolf instincts screaming at him to either fight or flee.

But before he could react, the figure disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared. One moment it was there, and the next, it was gone, leaving behind nothing but an eerie silence.

Alpha Charles stood there, frozen in shock. He could still feel the figure's intense gaze, even though it was no longer there. He closed his eyes and opened them again, his gaze falling on Queen Charlotte, his fourth Luna.

"Alpha Charles, lighten up!" Queen Charlotte slurred, her words barely coherent as she swayed to the rhythm of the music, her attire in disarray due to her intoxicated state. She was lost in the revelry, oblivious to the world around her.

Alpha Charles could only respond with a heavy sigh. "If only it were that simple, Charlotte," he muttered under his breath.

He didn't know he had risen from his throne, driven by the hallucination of a giant werewolf that had materialized before him. He returned to his seat, his mind filled with confusion. Ha couldn't stand the loud music at the festival so he went into his inner chamber.

"What was that creature?" he pondered aloud, trying to make sense of the apparition. The more he dwelled on it, the more perplexed he became. "What could it possibly mean?" he mused, his thoughts echoing words in his head.

Frozen in place, Alpha Charles began to piece together the puzzle. "The witch... the prophecy," he murmured, his mind racing back to the earlier encounter. He had seen a witch who had foretold a prophecy involving a pup that was destined to end his life.

Suddenly, the hallucination of the giant werewolf made sense. It was the pup from the prophecy, appearing to him in a vision. A chill ran down his spine as he realized the implications.

"The prophecy... it's beginning to unfold," he whispered, his voice barely audible. His heart pounded in his chest as he grappled with the reality of his situation. The comfort of his throne seemed to vanish, replaced by a sense of impending doom.

As the echo of his whisper faded, the council members approached him, their faces etched with concern. "Alpha Charles, what is this prophecy you speak of?" one of them asked, his voice filled with worry.

Alpha Charles took a deep breath, steeling himself for the words he was about to utter. "All pups born on the dark moon night… they must be killed," he declared, his voice resolute yet filled with sorrow.

Alpha Charles' declaration hung heavy in the air, his words echoing ominously in the silent chamber. He stared at the council members, their faces a mix of shock and disbelief. The prophecy was cruel, demanding a sacrifice that seemed unthinkable.

"What sort of prophecy demands such a thing?" one of the council members finally broke the silence, his voice barely above a whisper. The others nodded in agreement, their eyes filled with questions and fear.

Alpha Charles sighed, his heart heavy with the burden of his words. "It's a prophecy I wish I didn't have to share," he admitted, his voice filled with regret. "But it's a prophecy we must heed if we are to survive."

In another corner of the room, Lucas sat alone, nursing his glass of alcohol. He was wallowing in self-pity, feeling dejected after realizing that the man he thought was interested in him was only after his drink. "Come on, Lucas, don't be petty," he muttered to himself, summoning the courage to stand up.

As he rose, his eyes caught sight of another handsome man across the room. He took a deep breath, admiring the man from afar. But he knew pursuing what was in his mind was impossible, so he decided to rejoin the party.

Just as he was about to immerse himself back into the festivities, Queen Charlotte, in her drunken state, stumbled into him, spilling her vomit all over his clothes.

Lucas let out a loud scream, his hands flailing in disgust. "How disgusting!" he exclaimed, his voice high-pitched and his mannerisms suddenly resembling those of a lady.

In a move that only added to the absurdity of the situation, Queen Charlotte, still ignorant of the chaos she had caused, removed her scarf. She began to wipe the vomit off Lucas with it, which was very disgusting. "Oh, no, you don't!" he exclaimed, stepping back to avoid her.

But Queen Charlotte, in her drunken stupor, seemed unfazed. She was about to roll the soiled scarf back onto her head, completely unaware of the mess it was in. The sight was so ludicrous that despite his disgust, Lucas couldn't help but let out a laugh.

"Luna, what the hell is wrong with you? What are you doing?" Lucas exclaimed, pointing at the vomit-soaked scarf that Queen Charlotte was about to tie around her head. His words were filled with disbelief and disgust, but it was clear that they were falling on deaf ears.

Queen Charlotte's eyes were glazed over, her consciousness fading in and out due to her drunken state. It was evident that Lucas' words weren't penetrating her alcohol-fogged mind.

He watched in helpless frustration as she continued her attempt to tie the soiled scarf around her hair, not knowing the mess she was creating.

Lucas' eyes darted around the room, searching for Alpha Charles. He knew that if anyone could handle this situation, it was him. But Alpha Charles was nowhere to be found. Lucas felt a pang of frustration. The party was spiraling out of control, and the one person who could restore order was missing.

"Where is Alpha Charles when you need him?" Lucas muttered under his breath. He glanced back at Queen Charlotte, who was now attempting to tie the vomit-soaked scarf around her hair.

Lucas made an attempt to stop Queen Charlotte, but his efforts were in vain. She was too intoxicated to heed his warnings. With the vomit-soaked scarf in her hand and a carefree laugh, she continued to dance, oblivious to the mess she was creating.

In her drunken state, she tried to lean on Lucas, but he instinctively moved away. Unable to find the support she was expecting, Queen Charlotte lost her balance and fell to the ground. The room fell silent for a moment, the music and laughter giving way to gasps of surprise.

Lucas could only shake his head, a mix of disbelief and concern etched on his face. The night was proving to be more chaotic than he had anticipated. He couldn't help but wonder again, "Where is Alpha Charles?
