Chapter 4: Chapter 3

Kevin woke up just in time to see the alien pass away. He even heard his last words " Save the earth."

I looked at Gwen. The tears from her eyes started running down her face. Kevin managed to get up and give her a hug, which she greatly appreciated.

"Okay. Before I... I mean we save the world, I would need to change my look. I don't like this style. Let's go home."

"You can't just ignore that the earth is in danger. There's no time for changing your looks Tennyson!"

"Shut up, or I'll have to knock your ass out for the third time today."

"OK, guys. Just relax and let's go home for a while." Gwen said calmly.

After several seconds of everyone being calm, Kevin whispered: "Fine, sit in the car."

Gwen smiled and walked towards the green Challenger and I gave Kevin the "That's what I thought" look.

__________

After driving for about an hour, we finally approached the sign that said "Bellwood". Tall skyscrapers dominated the city skyline. The streets were lined with diverse establishments, from cosy diners to high-tech research facilities, showcasing a blend of tradition and innovation. I have never been to a place like this. I was truly amazed.

Finally, we arrived at what I assumed to be my home. It was a two-story suburban house nestled within a peaceful neighbourhood characterized by well-maintained lawns, trees, and a friendly atmosphere surrounding it.

The exterior of the house featured a classic suburban design with a modest front yard and a driveway leading to a garage. The house itself was painted in warm, inviting colours, with a front porch adorned by a few potted plants and a small bench.

Stepping inside, we were welcomed by a blonde woman and a man with dark brown hair, just like mine. I assume these were my parents.

"Where have you been Ben?" The woman asked.

"He came by to see me, Aunt Sandra." Gwen answered.

"Still, you shouldn't have been this late children." The man said with a bit angry tone.

"Sorry father. We were in a cafe, catching up." I answered a bit nervously.

"Father? Not Dad anymore?" The man was shocked.

"Oh, I just thought I would be respectful towards you. Is it wrong or what?"

"No, no, no. Of course not. It was too unusual, so naturally I was shocked."

"Fine. I'll go up to my room for a moment then."

My hands were shaking. Holy shit I got out of the parent trouble. I always hated this kind of interactions. Explaining something to parents wasn't really my thing.

Going up towards my room, I was quietly repeating "Sandra, Sandra. The woman's name is Sandra." But what the hell is the man's name?

My room turned out to be on the right side of the hallway with a huge sign that said "BEN".

Stepping inside, I turned the lights on to see what was happening. Turns out the previous owner of this body never liked to make up his bed. Everything was on the bed: Football/Soccer gloves, white shirts, and some black sneakers, one of them under the bed and the other on the fucking pillow.

I opened the closet, trying to find something that would match my personality. Browsing through the T-shirts, I found a white one with the number 10 on it.

Now time for some pants. I need something with a lot of space. Looking for the perfect match I found black "Cargo" pants with lots of pockets on the sides. It had two horizontal white lines on the right and one diagonal line on the left side.

"Perfect!" I said to myself.

Glancing over the sneakers below the pants section, I grabbed a pair of mostly black ones. They had a black rubber outsole and a white rubber midsole. White shoelaces with several green dots on them. On the white tongue, it had a green and black logo.

"I'd need some gloves too."

Looking in the drawer, I grabbed a pair that had no fingers. And of course, they were black.

Finally, to complete the look, I needed a jacket, black of course. So I re-opened the closet, looking for the perfect match. I came across a Black jacket with slightly green ornaments on the left arm.

Closely inspecting it, it had dark grey material alongside the zipper. Small white circles on both of the shoulders and the number 10 on the back.

"Now this is what I've been looking for."

____________

"So, how do I look?" I asked while walking down the stairs.

"As good as always dear." My new mother said.

"Are you copying me now Tennyson?" Asked Kevin.

Not wanting to knock his bitch-ass out in my house, I just gave him a half-smile.

"Come have some tee with us, son." My dad kindly asked.

"With pleasure father. Me, Kevin and Gwen will hang out after tee thought."

"Surely."

So just being falsely respectful towards elders leads to a positive outcome? You don't need to tell me twice. I can't wait to explore this new world.
