Chapter 55: Nicholas flamel
There is two days left till the house cup and year end ceremony. Andrew is enjoying his time with Hannah. He is also studying more alchemy and runes. Andrew mainly focussed on the runes more than that as he received a part of Asgard's runes.
There is also some runes from kamar-taj in Asgard's library. Andrew who got them is very excited to try them. He modiefied te ring and increased its power. The runes circuit is more smooth now with energy flow.
Harry woke up and met Dumbledore he asked Dumbledore why quirell couldn't touch and the horrific laughter of voldemort in end. He also said voldemort told him something like his mother is great she even sacrificed her life and magic for voldemort.
Dumbledore's expression turned serious at this. If voldemort reay knows then he needs to guard Andrew to not fall into the hands of voldemort. Although he knew the dark lord won't do any harm to him but the talent of Andrew he witnessed is very rare.
If Andrew fall into the hands of voldemort, the dark magic Andrew develop after studying throughly will infect his personality which Dumbledore don't want to. So he just ignored Harry's other question and answered," that life I took from your brother harry. It formed a magucal protection around you. It'll protect in your most desperate situation for all your life as long as a blood relative is beside you".
Harry now asked," why would you transfer his life to me professor? Why would my brother has to suffer all his childhood? Why would you lie to my mother and made her torture him? Now even she wanted to she can't even get close to Andrew".
Dumbledore sighed and explained slowly that Andrew was once voldemort's horcrux. He has a soul fragment of voldemort inside him after what happened that day. So Dumbledore said he thought that it's voldemort in Andrew's body rather than the soul of Andrew.
Harry is naive and get convinced easily. Dumbledore left after taking some beans while he remembered Nicholas flamel's test to Andrew. He planned to take Andrew today. There are two days before the holidays anyway.
So after Dumbledore exited the infirmary, he saw Hermione and Ron moving to the infirmary to see harry. Andrew also visited harry but he didn't talk much. Just asked if he is feeling better and gave some foods and snacks then left.
Dumbledore met him and asked if he is ready to which Andrew nodded and they both goes to Nicholas flamel's mansion. Andrew informed Hannah about this. When they appeared they saw an old man who is walking so slowly.
An elderly woman in a wheel chair, Andrew greeted then both respectfully and while Nicholas flamel tested his alchemy knowledge mainly on runes and enchnatments. Andrew also gave him some samples of scroll magic and when Nicholas flamel saw them he is stunned although they can only used two to three times but the materials used are very common and cheap.
Yet, the effects can be done. He and Andrew talked enthusiastically about alchemy. When Nicholas asked why he chose scrolls Andrew said," I saw some in diagon alley. They suffered too much because they don't have magic. So I started working on this maguc since then although I didn't completely succeeded in making all spells as most of runes of a spell are lacked. But I managed to engrave a few spells with magic ink and normal prachments. Although they're temporary but even squibs can use them".
When Nicholas asked how did he come with this, Andrew said," I don't know. Its just like I'm working on it for years and it succeded. I even felt I researched ways for squibs for long though I only started doing it after coming to Hogwarts".
Nicholas flamel looked at Dumbledore and asked in a telepathic connection of legilmancy," you don't told him act like this do you?", Dumbledore denied and said," if I did how did he gain so much knowledge in just a few weeks. Do you believe now that he is reborn? It's just he doesn't he is reborn. Keep it secret for now".
Nicholas eyes fell on the ring and he asked in surprise," that ring, it's not as simple as it looks. It's like a wand but more powerful. Can you show it to me", Andrew nodded and gave it to Nicholas flamel.
Nicholas eyes widened as he couldn't recognise the runes on the ring. He glanced at Andrew with wide eyes whioe Dumbledore out on a smug look. Nicholas asked," what are these runes?".
Andrew explained the runes on the ring like amplification, balance, condensing, strengthening, magic absorption and others. Nicholas looked at Andrew with wide eyes he doesn't know any of the runes that Andrew mentioned and asked," where did you learn those spells?".
Andrew lowered his head and said," this may sound ridiculous and outrageous sir flamel but some of them appeared in my dreams. At first I thought they're nonsense until I used them in alchemy".
