Chapter 9: Chapter 8 : Aftermath

A few days would have passed and nothing special went on during the event of those particular days, until the Ember village's teachers were called in by the leader to another meeting.

Sensei Primal, alongside another 4 sensei were there as well as the leader of Ember and began the meeting as it couldn't wait.

"Forgive me for calling this sudden meeting, but I needed to inform you about the current state of something." said the leader in a calm yet troubled voice.

"What seems to be the issue?" asked a male sensei whose name is Kuga.

The leader went through his own hair with his hand before looking down at the table and back up at the teachers standing before him in his office. The office had concrete walls, a few windows and wooden flooring.

"I've been reached out to and have been told that the Bladewood village has been destroyed and massacred. It's unknown who or what caused this but it's safe to say that the threat is definitely strong, to say the least." letting out a sigh afterwards.

No one had said anything of the teachers as they thought about what could it be but the leader continued on into another sentence, catching their attention once more.

"The bodies that were able to be checked out indicate that a humanoid being caused the killing to at least a few of the victims." he sighed once more. "They suffered from what seemed to be mostly burn marks and slashes, with an additional decapitated body. Underground though, there was a lot of blood, destroyed walls and a large burnt circle of some sorts, according to my source."

Another sensei, one who wore a pumpkin surrounding it's head, symbolizing a specific cult, spoke up with a constant hissing and slightly demonic-sounding voice.

"Are you asking us to investigate? Because if you are, there is nothing we could uncover that the research division hasn't." he said.

The leader leaned back into his chair and looked up at the ceiling, "No.. That's not it. I'm just saying notifying you all about this information on the off chance that one of your students could have caused this. All of them were out of the village during that time. So I suggest that you question them."

-

Kazumi, Jinn, Aza, Rai, Zankoku and multiple other students which were in the placed teams were near the food stand, all socializing and talking to each other but more specifically buying food because the prices were lowered today and a lot of stuff was on a discount.

The white haired boy, Satoru, was in the clan compound, specifically in his designated and arranged 'house'. It wasn't really anything special as it was also made out of gray concrete and appeared from the outside like a regular square house, with of course careful chiseling yet despite that it was the smallest house in the entire clan's district.

Yesterday night he didn't go to the clan meeting and instead stayed at his house, not doing particularly anything...

But today morning he instantly got to it and began his day with some physical training, or well.. The best one he could do with calisthenics.

"244... 245... 246... 247... 248..." he said after each press up of the regular pushup motion, breathing in when pushed up and breathing out when down. He was surprised to the number he went to, but of course it wasn't effortless.

Sweat dripped down his face and to him it was quite frankly annoying. Continuing on, he was beginning to feel it now take a toll on him after a couple more.

"268...269...270...271..." he stopped for a breather and continued on performing the pushups on the wooden floor. "271...272...273...274...275...". Seeing his form fluctuate on the 275th repetition, he stopped for another breather, adjusted his arms and elbows and continued on performing in the correct form.

"276...277...278...279....280..." he stopped for a second, took another breather and continued, feeling his triceps now begin to feel as if dozens of ants were crawling on them, with each rep he performed from this point forward.

"281...282....283...284...285...286...287...288...289...290...291..." It began to be surprisingly tough on the last 50 reps, but he managed to get them in and circle the number to 300 before ultimately stopping and grabbing the towel, wiping the sweat off and going to drink and chug an entire liter of water from the bottle he prepared beforehand.

Satoru went to the showers immediately to wash off the sweat and after about 20 minutes he was done, putting on his clothes and heading out to grab a bite to eat.

He left the clan compound and was walking through the crowded streets in the village with the sun at the middle of the sky and clouds surrounding it, overall being a sunny day.

Not thinking much of it at first, he saw the others of his age from the other teams including Zankoku, the one from his team and Kazumi called him over.

"Hey Satoru, come here!" he yelled out to him over the loudness of the people around them. Having lowkey no choice, he went down to them and as they finished eating, Kazumi asked his brother if he could perchance train him, or at least help him improve his combat coordination, abilities and hand-to-hand alongside other things.

Satoru's eyes dwindled as he looked around and noticed sensei Primal walking with his hands in the pockets by them so he quickly went up in front of him.

"Sensei, do you mind training Kazumi in certain aspects of battle?" he asked and mouthing 'please' afterwards.

The sensei did not expect that whatsoever, but was still able to give off a reply. "Well uhh... I don't really know what to teach him." he shrugged. "Perhaps he should ask his own squad's teacher."

Zankoku crashed into their conversation by greeting Satoru and even offering that he can teach him. Satoru immediately accepted. 0 hesitation.

The two went off through the crowd and to the training field where Kazumi would be asked to display his abilities, hand-to-hand capabilities and more. After doing so, Zankoku returned the favor so that it's fair for what comes next.

Next what came was them both battling, to see firsthand to Kazumi's battle sense. To say the least, Zankoku was disappointed and was able to win very quickly, almost in a flash, one might say.

But because of this he was able to tell Kazumi what to do and what not to do when going to a real battle. He was glad and joyful that someone was willing to actually teach him at least something...

-

Satoru had finally in peace grabbed something to eat... Since it was morning, he was able to eat a 'perkins everything omelet' for which the macros contained 37 grams of protein and 14 grams of carbohydrates. The calories didn't really bother him but to be specific it was 550 cal.

Upon completing his meal, which was basically his breakfast, Satoru went on to walk through the village when suddenly he felt the presence, the atmosphere change into something hot, boiling hot.

A large pool of lava rose from the ground and right as the one who was causing it, a pale, shirtless and skinny man appeared, going to strike Satoru right at the face, being inches away from piercing him.

Sensei Primal, coming in clutch got him from the side, side-kicking him away onto the floor and immediately piercing him through the brain with his spear, leaving the stab wound in his forehead and life immediately fade from his eyes.

He placed his hand on the now dead guy's stomach, making him vanish and got up, leaving to meet up with someone named 'Velo' to speak with him in private.

Being surprised by what happened beside him, he continued on walking, greeting Jinn who passed him and mentioned that Zankoku went off to train by himself.

Being on his way to do something like that too, he got out of the loud crowd and entered the training field which was per usual empty. Attempting to recreate the ability that sensei Primal uses, the one that fires lightning into the air from his palm and lands onto the opponent, he couldn't.

He fired the beam but that was about it... Focusing and channeling lightning into his hand, he tried with that but was also unsuccessful. Satoru was getting frustrated by this and got the idea of going to ask sensei Primal himself and that's exactly what he did.

With a single jump, he effortlessly jumped up onto a tree and hopped around, eventually finding his sensei and approaching him.

"Primal sensei, I had a question." asked the white haired boy.

He instantly replied to him : "What do you wanna know?" in a relaxed tone in his voice.

Satoru looked down into his hands which were now in front of him and looked back at his sensei, asking him the question.

"Well, I tried to perform the lightning you do when you fire lightning into the air and it lands onto your target but I can't make it work." he said with a slight addition of disappointment in his tone.

"Ah I see." Primal said quickly, already knowing what the problem is. "You're trying to run before learning to walk."

Satoru raised his eyebrow at him and continued to look at him in confusion. The sensei sighed and began to elaborate.

"You need to learn how to do it with your axe first, and only then you can do it with your hand, after learning it of course." he said to the confused boy, clearing things up now. "I'll teach you."

He instructed Satoru, if he wants to make it easier for himself, to envelop himself in lightning. But to his surprise, the boy didn't know how to do that. Being at a setback, sensei Primal didn't give up and instead showed the boy that it's similar to expanding his aura but way more complex.

Primal was able to show Satoru how to surround himself with lightning in an orb, the same thing he attempted to perform a couple days ago. Divine energy manipulation, or any energy for that matter, was required to be really focused to be able to successfully do it.

"Launching it in a beam or a fireball is the basics of the basics." Primal said.

Adding on saying "Luckily, it's not that hard to do since most can learn it in their lifetime. You just need to be attuned with your energy and instead of seeing it as a means to fight, to see it like an extension of yourself."

Satoru nodded and understood what he meant by interpreting it in a way that made sense to him, taking a step back and closing his eyes for a few seconds, inhaling and exhaling the air. The grass below him and half a foot from every of his direction, forming a circle of darkened grass, as if it was scorched.

Successfully allowing the divine energy to pour outside of his body, he was able to form it into a more solid shape by forcefully pulling it back and doing his best to maintain it around himself, burning the grass in the process.

Closing his eyes and taking a big inhale, he instantly opened his eyes with sparks of lightning beginning to shroud around him in his energy. But it quickly extinguish and went up into the air, basically deactivating.

For the next 5 minutes, Satoru continuously performed the same action over and over until eventually it stuck. To be frank though, each time he did, it'd become faster to perform it again and again.

Not wanting to be upset about it, having faith, he succeeded and it surrounded him now without fading away. Upon that, allowing it to fade away again, Satoru looked at his sensei, clenching his fist and it quickly appeared around him again.

Sensei Primal nodded slowly, sending off a 'good job' type of nod as he'd comment : "Impressive.. You're ready to learn it now."

Primal asked Satoru for his axe, which he willingly gave him and afterwards he pointed the axe up at the sky, sending out the lightning which then struck a nearby large boulder and easily destroyed.

It could've caused a lot more damage but the sensei purposefully lowered his output, with it it's speed and strength of course, to merely demonstrate the ability.

Primal returned the axe to Satoru and with it told him : "When you send it up, visualize in your head it curving somewhere extremely high and aiming to land on your target."

The white haired boy took a deep breath and fired the much more focused beam now into the air, but it wasn't landing anywhere, hence not being able to do it.

It was odd... When learning the 'Storm Cloak' he had to remove superfluous thoughts from his head but when focusing anger, rage and the 'negative' emotions into using god lightning, he was able to perform it.

Rising his axe up, he sent out a beam of lightning up into the blue sky and just a moment later, it hit the designated target, actually obliterating the multiple boulders and leaving barely any debris after, with the entire area scorched in the circle of where the bolt struck.

Primal commented his achievement : "Good job. You're a quick learner. Then again, you are the God of Thunder now so it's only natural that you can perform it." he said as he shrugged again.

"You are right... I need to live up to my title now. I'm no longer a mere mortal..." he said.

Sensei nodded and at the corner of his eye, despite wearing a mask, he saw Zankoku climbing up and waving at them, greeting them as he finished his training.

Primal looked at the sky for a moment, as an expression of a 'thinker' formed on his face. His eyes shifted back to Zankoku and Satoru and the wind started to blow slightly stronger.

"I've got a mission, but..." he stopped for a second, quickly thinking of what he'll say next. "It'll require much more people than just our squad, such as others from the other squads." he said.

"How much more sensei?" asked Zan optimistically.

Primal gave it a quick thought before answering. "Well it'll require us 3, possibly Kazumi, Jinn, maybe even Aza. Though she is a girl so I don't really expect much of her... But to be fair, we do need to fill in the spot anyway for Nova, since he may as well be dead at this point." he said with no hesitation.

Being intrigued, the young boy asked the sensei "What is the mission, sensei?"

Wasting no second to answer, he gave him a quick and what seemed a cold response in a more silent and serious voice : "The Beast of War, Korama."

Satoru's expression changed as did Zankoku's with not just interest but a glimpse of fear, with their eyes widening a bit more and catching both their attentions.

The sensei sighed and continued on speaking. "Before his banishment, it was in the possession of Kratos and it bears the mindset of it's host. It was sealed inside of him but he let it loose before his banishment. And now we must end it in order to prevent future bloodshed and violence" he said, lying about the last part, yet going unnoticed.

"That's the entire info, so now you know." Primal added on.

Zankoku was happy to go rally up the others and let them know, but that's when Primal told him that they can start going to Blaze village immediately and that they'll all meet up there.

He nodded and jumped off the tree, heading to the others to tell them. Satoru too turned around and right as he was about to go, he was stopped.

"Wait." said Primal.

Satoru turned back around and asked him "What is it?"

Unsheathing the spear he had on his back, he told Satoru to take out the axe and he did. Both of them linked their weapons as the purple and blue lighting of their weapons merged for a second.

The rune on his axe glowed once more, not visible to his eye unlike in Bladewood village a few days ago. He asked sensei Primal about it who explained it.

"It's the bifrost. It allows you to travel much quicker to where you want to go. Granted it is quite tricky to do it on realms the first time, but you'll figure it out eventually."

Satoru understood and as he went to raise the axe above his head and in the same time, sensei Primal rose his spear above his head as glow began to surround them and they began to be in the multicolored heat of the bifrost.

Two runic circles were left behind on the tree, but they began to slowly fade away. It was quite interesting inside of the bifrost and Satoru only followed the sensei, learning quickly how to navigate to where the bifrost actually takes you.

"So it's all part of where you imagine you want to end up? But is it just that or is there more to it?" the white haired boy thought to himself.

They arrived to the Blaze village, with the sun being quite hotter here and the air was more humid than in the Ember village. Blaze was about 3x larger than Ember too with much more advanced and bigger looking facilities and houses.

Satoru and sensei Primal decided to wait up for the others to arrive as this will be one hell of a battle...
