Chapter 18: Head on
Ray stood in front of the Five Families Base. It was branded as a public company for garbage trash recycling. He looked down at the watch and scanned the building.
His watch showed about 100 men in arms.
[ That one is here as well.] Diane's voice echoed beside his ears.
" I see. Bullseye. " Ray read all the information about the organization. Right now, his goal was to collect his money and make it under his command.
It was a straightforward goal. He tapped the number on the watch and called Arthur.
" I am in front of our base. " Ray said. " Welcome me. "
" My men will escort you to the meeting room. Trust us, we mean no harm. " Arthur said. His voice was sharp and carried a weight.
" I can see that. " Ray snorted.
Soon the door opened and two men in white suits welcomed him. Their face was stoic and rock-hard cold. Ray could feel the tension inside their heart.
They were afraid of him. Afaird of his tech. Afraid of his demeanour.
Ray followed them quietly. He didn't consider them a threat. They were more like annoying kid in his eyes. Killing them will be easy but who will control the crimes?
' Even though, they are lawless monsters. I gotta give them praise. Within their area, no crime outside of their men occurs. '
Well, that was because all the criminals were their people but if they controlled them. No patty crimes would happen. Like bank robbery.
Of course, that was not 100℅ the case.
Not every situation was 100℅.
Walking in the hallway, Ray's mind drifted into the past. More specifically, last night's dream.
Someone was whispering to me. The message was pretty simple. " Come. "
It was happening frequently. It started when he parted with Gwen and decided to focus only on the portal gun.
' I hope, machine 1 can finish Fading Pill when I arrive. ' Ray thought. ' Then I will check the space stone. I already got the location. '
He stopped and remembered something. The two men looked behind and asked. " Something wrong, sir. "
Ray waved their answer to the side and continued walking behind them.
' I need to build the machine to contain space stone. I can make it pretty easily but studying the fabric of space from the stone will create a lot of energy bursts. '
' I have not checked the stone yet so I don't know about it. '
Ray pondered.
He didn't realize he arrived in front of the meeting room. Ray stopped and almost collided with the two guards.
They opened the door and let him enter.
The windows were shut tight. No lights entered the room. Artificial light poured down from the ceiling and reached the flat table which shone in bright green colour.
At the end of the green table, a white male stood and looked at Ray in fright. But his mask showed that fright as a lie. Arthur had a normal heartbeat compared to his expression.
Ray sighed inwardly. ' he could be a good actor. '
He lazily sat on the chair. The door behind closed with a bump.
" No need to introduce yourself. Let's head to the main reason. " Ray said. He didn't want to waste his time here anymore. Now that he thought about space energy, his mind became excited to work on the invention.
" That is right. I don't want to waste your time either. What do you want, Blank? " Arthur spoke in honesty. That was a lie as well.
Ray smiled and snapped his fingers. A laser pierced from the outside and shot at Arthur but narrowly missed him. Even though it missed, the heat emitted from the laser was strong enough to cause a burn on Arthur's face.
Ray planned to use this tactic only as necessary but it was dragging long. Even though, he just arrived at this place two minutes ago.
Arthur looked at Ray in anger. Finally, he showed his true colour. It lasted for a second before masking himself.
Ray chuckled inside. ' He is a really good actor. '
Ray slammed his hand onto the table and said in monotone. " When I need money, send the money to Mason. When I need tools, Mason will take them from you. Don't hurt him because you will face my wrath. "
Ray stood up and straightened his white coat.
" What do we get from that? " Arthur said hoping to get the laser gun.
Ray turned toward the door and answered without looking back. " I miss. "
Arthur understood his meaning and clenched his fist under the table. Ray saw through that and laughed inside. Robbing them felt good.
He should do this from the start but he had nothing at that time.
Mason arrived perfectly in front of the base. Diane must have signalled him.
" To the lab. " Ray padded his shoulder. " Hurry. I am itching to see the result. "
" Alright, Ray. " Mason sped up the car. " So what is the plan for my salary? "
Ray took off the mask. " Oh yeah, I am your boss. I forgot about that. Ask Arthur all you want. I don't care. "
" Million? "
" Your choice but you better take more and disappear to the east. I won't be staying here for long. "
Mason nodded.
" But don't worry that much, I will give you a cool robot. And let's upgrade this car. "
The car arrived at the lab. Ray walked out quickly.
Machine 1 was standing waiting for him. It was holding a white pill.
Ray's eyes lit up in delight and grabbed the pill.
" Any side effect. " Ray asked.
[ After running a computer test, none will harm the body. No radiation will stain either.]
" Great. " Ray swallowed the pill. Immediately, he felt the burning heat on his skin.
" Ouch. "
[ Except for the burning effect. You should improve the recipe.]
Ray wanted to curse her but the burning effect was a little bit taken over his mind. After a few seconds, it settled down.
Ray looked at his hands and laughed out loud. There was nothing.
" Detect the body temperature or any scanning machine. " Ray said.
The laser aimed at his direction and many others.
" Show me the result. " Ray said.
[ None.]
" That should do. " Ray smiled. " Now, show me S.H.I.E.L.D base. "
