Chapter 88: The villains were [Among us] all along!

The winter morning was freezing cold, the remnants of snow only now slowly melting away, and class 1-A was rowdy as usual. However, the chatter was rather focused on one certain topic
"And then he raised his hand in victory! It was super manly" Kirishima said excitedly remembering yesterday's news broadcast. Nobody expected a Nomu attack out of nowhere after all!
"Hawks help a bunch too! He rescued everyone remember!" Uraraka commented
"As expected from the top heroes"
'Endeavor should've gotten injured in that fight right? Shame... No character development' I thought to myself while listening to the idle chatter
Soon enough the door opened and Shoto entered the classroom as it defended into silence. Seeing the gazes lingering on him he only sighed slightly before ignoring everyone and moving toward his seat
"Hey your mom participated in that fight didn't she?" Tokoyami commented
"She's appearing everywhere at this point... In school and now in the news" I realized my mom is incredibly strong, probably enough to count as a top-10 hero with strength alone.
"I remember shouting at her a few years ago... To think she could've made me a popsicle in an instant... It's kinda scary" Tokoyami said with a relieved expression. Unfortunately, I wasn't spared from that fate
however, all the class's conversations were cut short by the sound of the door opening, instantly recognizing the yellow sleeping bag the entire class went quiet
"Quiet everyone... Alright I'm sure I don't need to tell you this again but you need to start taking things seriously" Aizawa glanced at a few students in the class. He also specifically locked eyes with me... Tsk
"You only now got your provisional licenses, and you are now bearing the responsibility of being a hero. So act like one" Aizawa pushed his hand through his hair and said solemnly
"There are still 2 of you who don't even have their license... Anyway, what I was saying----" Suddenly Aizawa was interrupted by the lights going completely red. A silent began blaring throughout the room
[Emergency drill! Emergency drill!]
[Hypothetical villains have breached into UA campus]
[Please change into your hero costumes and prepare to handle the situation... Because I won't] the announcement's voice oddly sounded like Aizawa
Aizawa turned towards the overhanging speaker before pressing on a remote
"Yeah... That" We were given our hero costumes and rushed towards ground beta. Which was apparently where the villains have breached

"Hey Rimuru is that a new costume?" Kirishima asked while putting his own.
"Yeah, it's winter so I thought of changing it," I said while putting on my fancy white shirt and black jacket. I decided to change my costume to the Demon Lord outfit Rimuru got mostly because the previous one was quite impractical, especially for breathability.
"It's so stylish! The gold is so sparkly" Aoyama shouted seeing the gold thread weaved into the jacket. This costume is also of much higher quality!
Thank you for pointing out side character #1... Wait isn't he the class traitor? Or was it Toru?... I trust Toru more than him
"Hurry up! This is an emergency and we cannot waste time hearing up. The villains could already be here!" Iida stopped all locker room chats, even though his costume is literally a knight's armor he surprisingly dressed up the fastest...
.....
"Alright, everyone! The villains have breached filed beta. And that is the only information we currently have! Even though this is only a drill we need to take this seriously" Iida directed everyone as we stood in the middle of the street. Looking further we can see rising smoke and the distant sounds of explosions
"First we need to collect information about the potential dangers and also what we are facing. Which is why I suggested making a reconnaissance team" Yamomo took the lead, with the new recon team at the ready. Consisting of Koda, Mezo, and Jiro...
"Firstly we'll most likely need the high ground so... Rimuru do you mind?"
"Huh?... Oh yeah," I snapped out of my thoughts as I pointed my hand at the team. Engulfing them in smoke I teleported them to a nearby rooftop. Getting down will be their issue.
And soon enough Yaomomo's walkie-talkie began chattering. Mezo who had his arms split like trees with eyes sprouting at the tips relayed what he had seen in the distance
["I see a couple of collapsed buildings. A kilometer to the northeast"] he said over the radio. Koda and Jiro also confirmed that the villains have certainly attacked in the northeast
"We need to reach there quickly!" Yamomo said, she turned towards the rest of the class but of course, her eyes landed on Rimuru., the guy that can teleport. Arriving in his face she quickly requested
"Can you get there fast?"
Initially surprised I turned towards the distance before turning back. With a sigh, I went forward and pointed my finger at the distant smoke rising
"Sure..." I shot out an orb of smoke and made it go forward unfortunately it wasn't particularly fast...
["I'm hearing more and more explosions!"] The radio on Yaomomo's hip shouted. And the constant chatter seemed to irk a certain explosion boy
"Oy! Hurry up your taking forever!" He barked
I decided to ignore him since I decided to take this mission somewhat seriously, I focused on making the orb travel as fast as possible
"Don't ignore me, you damn bastard!" Bakugo laid his hand on my shoulder and created an explosion, slightly singeing my outfit
"Listen Explosive Temper, im busy. If you want to bother someone go bother your boyfriend Midoriya over there" I pointed at Midoriya who was hiding his face in shame. those two never change...
"Huh? Boyfriend? Bastard, you wanna fight?" Bakugo shouted while grabbing onto my collar with force, his face was beet red from anger... Or is he blushing?
Honestly, I didn't care
"No," I replied before vanishing into smoke.

"Dammit, I should've kept some smoke there in the first place... Now I gotta do this all over again" I muttered in annoyance, Bakugo distracted me long enough for me to forget to keep some [Beelzbub] smoke with the group to act as a waypoint...
Sighing heavily I put my hands together and conjured another orb of smoke, but as I was about to send it out I felt chills running down my spine. Abandoning the smoke I dodged to the side as a surge of energy struck exactly where I would've been standing
"Nyehehe! It seems you dodged my super-evil blast! But worry not! Super villain Nejire will take care of you" I turned my gaze up as I saw Nejire stare at me with a shadow obscuring her face. However, I could still see the messily painted mustache that was etched on her lips with a Sharpie
"Huh...?" Was the only response I could muster, however which seemed trigger Nejire
"Aw come on! I came up with so many cool lines and your only response is 'Huh?' Lameeeee" Nejire immediately broke character as she hunched down with a disappointed expression
"Aren't you a villain? Then I've come to kick your---"
"That's perfect! Now die!" Nejire shouted as she shot another surge at me, fortunately, her attacks were easily predictable so I simply dodged to the left and right.
I decided to take care of her quickly and finish what I was supposed to do, so with a flick of the wrist I shot some smoke at her.
"Neyehehe! Don't expect your attacks to work! I've been studying you!" Nejire said before firing a surge at my smoke bolts. However what I expected didn't happen, instead of the smoke devouring the surges they were instead pushed back and blasted completely subverting my expectations
"Interesting..." I muttered before dodging the surge, spinning around I firing two additional smoke bolts at her but they were deflected all the same
"Interesting indeed! Neyehehe! Allow me to explain why your attacks won't work!" Nejire put a hand on her chest with a prideful smirk on her face.
"Your attacks devour objects physically! But because my quirk is a pure energy attack your quirk cannot devour my newly created special surges. Ultimate move! Unstoppable Wave!" Nejire shouted with pizazz, although she was completely wrong I let her have her moment as I dodged an additional surge
"Dammit I'm supposed to bring them here" I realized I completely forgot about my objective, so while I shot some smoke at Nejire I tried sneakily shooting an orb toward where the group was
"Don't try anything funny, mister!" Nejire shouted before shooting a surge at the orb dissipating it completely. I groaned in frustration, even Overhaul wasn't as annoying as she was
Throwing the teleportation plan out the window I was left with no choice but to dive into my subspace. Retrieving a radio I planned to contact Yaomomo that way
"What frequency did she use..." I muttered while fiddling with the knob. This is where my godly instincts became useful as I could keep my focus on twisting the knob while dodging at the same time
"Mou~ bringing reinforcements? That's no fun! I enjoyed our fight so far! I mean neyehehe!" Nejire pouted while crossing her arms, though she seemed to have stopped firing. At the same time, I heard my radio crackle into life.
["Hello who is this?"] Yaomomo's confused voice came over as I held the radio in my hands
"Yaomomo! I've encountered a villain! I can't teleport you here so you'll have to arrive on your own!" I shouted into it with no time to explain, I felt my intuition flare yet again
["Huh..? What do you mean---"]
"EMP SURGE! Neyehehe!" Was the only thing I heard as the radio exploded in my hands. Nejire's skeleton-like laughter was the last sound coming through

["Yaomomo! I've encountered a villain! I can't teleport you here so you'll have to arrive on your own!"] The radio on Yaomomo's hip shouted out making the group freeze in place. Yaomomo put the radio closer to her face with a confused expression
"What do you mean? Rimuru? Hello?"
Yaomomo asked over but she only heard radio silence
"The villains attacked him while he was alone! How unmanly!" Kirishima crossed his arms before stepping forward, the first in the group to listen to Rimuru and try to reach him alone
"Wait wait wait! We must be orderly, if we all split up we're opening ourselves to getting ambushed!" Iida said stopping Kirishima, Midoriya, and Bakugo who all were close to leaving on their own.
"Don't tell me what to do! I can't get ambushed! Bastard" Bakugo shouted however a familiar voice stopped them in their tracks
"What makes you say you aren't getting ambushed right now?" Everyone turned to the middle of the group only to see Mirio standing right in the middle! When did he even get there?!?
His outfit was strangely similar to Kamiari's outfit... Where is Kaminari anyway?...
"What is this? I'm scared!" Hagakure said in a panic, Mirio's serious expression instantly melted into a shining smile
"This is what's called an 'off-guard tension', it's when an overpowered character that would usually protect the main cast is gotten rid of to create tension, as now they have no one to protect them!" Mirio began explaining as his outfit instantly changed into one of a teacher's
"Authors usually create these situations to artificially create tension in a situation, although it's effectivebess is dependent on the authors capabilities" Mirio finished up. Mino who still seemed confused raised her hand
"Yes?"
"Isn't this situation supposed to be tense then?" Mina asked
"Well as I said it's dependent on the author. And this one clearly isn't very good" Mirio winked
"Yikes a self deprecating joke... That's cheap"
