Chapter 4: Headmaster is A Playboy?
Olivia understands that it's common for spirits to heal in their master's soul space and enter a deep slumber.
But she wonders, 'Isn't the spirit just summoned? Why would it be wounded then?'
Benjamin, looking at Owen, can tell he isn't lying.
As the headmaster, he decides to address Owen's situation directly, "Owen, how long until your spirit wakes up?"
Owen replies, "Three days."
"Do you realize you've just contracted a myth-type spirit?" asks Benjamin.
Owen is aware of what a myth-type spirit signifies.
These spirits are very rare, even more so than SS-grade spirits.
He asked, "But isn't she just an F-grade spirit? How can she be a myth spirit?"
"There are no myth spirits below S-class strength..."
Olivia joins the conversation, explaining, "That's why we're all curious about it. We know it's a myth, type because the spirit is engraved on your head."
"Only myth-type spirits are engraved on the skull."
"Beast types are on the chest, insectoids on the spine, elementals on the back, avians on the legs, and aquatics on the hands."
"But remember, this only applies to the first summon for us evokers."
Owen nods, as he knows the value of a Myth-type spirit. He begins to feel anxious, "Wait, this means all my classmates also know about this?"
Sophia reassures him, "Don't worry, the information Olivia shared isn't public knowledge. Only a few people are aware of it."
Owen still feels worried, "But they all hate me, Miss Sophia, and there's Henry from the Campbell family."
Benjamin doesn't really know Owen's situation, but based on what happened before, he knows for sure that he's being ostracized.
Getting a myth type is not a simple matter
It's like catching a legendary Pokémon in the Pokémon games.
He thinks through a few plans and then advises Owen, "From now on, don't tell anyone you've contracted a Myth-type spirit, not even your parents."
"The fewer people know, the better, at least until you're strong enough to protect yourself."
"As for Campbell and the others, I'll handle it. You don't need to worry."
Owen feels relieved at this moment, but deep down, he remains concerned.
He wonders if he can trust a school headmaster who so easily sells a spot for money.
Seeing the expression on Owen's face, Sophia understands his worry.
She tries to reassure him, "Don't worry, you can trust us."
She then glances at the headmaster before adding, "I know his face might make it hard to trust him, but you can trust Olivia, right? You know her as your instructor."
Benjamin laughed at Sophia's comment. "What do you mean by my face? Don't you see how handsome it is?"
He jests, placing a hand on his chin. "You know, this face has helped me get laid when I just..."
His words are abruptly cut off as Olivia kicks him in the leg, scolding, "What do you think you're saying to your student?"
Olivia then turns to Owen, reassuring him, "Don't worry. I swear on my honor as a three-star hunter that this information will not be leaked."
Owen at first feels the urge to laugh at their interaction but restrains himself, remembering their positions as his headmaster and teacher.
When Olivia makes her vow to a hunter, he feels reassured and knows he can trust her.
In their world, hunters hold their honor in high regard.
They always fulfill their promises when sworn on their honor.
While there are some bad apples, those who betray this code are met with swift and severe punishment, sometimes even death.
Knowing this, Owen feels reassured.
If any problem arises, he trusts that teacher Olivia will do her best to help him by tracking down the problem and finding a solution.
Sophia then speaks up, "Alright, I think that should be enough for now. You should go back to your dorm to rest."
Owen stands and bows respectfully, "Thank you, Miss Sophia, Headmaster, Miss Olivia."
Benjamin observes Owen for a moment, liking his polite attitude.
"Just call me Benjamin. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to come to me, even if it's about wo..."
He stops abruptly, sensing a sharp glare from Olivia, and quickly changes his statement, "Ehm... I mean, if you have problems with relationships."
Olivia interjects, "Forget about this old geezer. If you need anything, just come to me."
She then glances at Benjamin, "He'll just give you bad influence."
Benjamin protests, "Hey, when have I ever been a bad influence on anyone?"
Olivia, knowing all about his questionable past, cannot accept him denying the truth.
She starts listing names, "Elowen, Declan, Seraphina, Jasper, Evander, Isla…"
Benjamin, feeling his pride challenged, counters, "What about Evander and Isla? Aren't they happily married now?"
Olivia retorts sharply, "If by 'living happily' you mean causing Evander to have an affair with Isla, resulting in a pregnancy and a forced marriage, then sure."
"And I haven't even mentioned Declan, who turned into a womanizer because of you!"
"Do you know how much Freya still gnashes her teeth in hatred every time she calls me?"
"Declan used to be her loyal boyfriend until he got close to you."
Sophia watches as the two begin their heated debate, knowing from experience that it won't end soon.
She turns to Owen, who seems to be enjoying the spectacle, and says, "Let's go, Owen. Forget about them."
"Once they start debating like this, they forget everything around them."
Owen, feeling curious about their debate, asks, "Do Mr. Benjamin and Miss Olivia know each other?"
Sophia gestures for Owen to follow her.
He nods and follows her out of the room. As they walk, Sophia responds, "They are old classmates."
Owen then asks, "Is that why Miss Olivia decided to teach here?"
