Chapter 48: Chapter 48 : Have you tested your IQ?

"Every now and then I have the feeling I've totally lost my mind. It's a great feeling."

Wayne Building, Gotham City.

A Porsche Cayenne came to a gradual stop in front of the Wayne Building, and Jude, accompanied by Batgirl Stephanie Brown, emerged from the vehicle. Stephanie, a familiar face at the building, was greeted with a smile by Ginny at the front desk.

"Miss Brown, I haven't seen you for a while; are you free today?" Ginny inquired with a warm smile.

Stephanie reciprocated with kindness. "I need to find Lucius for some things; is he in the company?"

"Director Lucius just went up; I think he should be on the 17th floor now; you can go directly to him."

"Thank you, Ginny; go and do your business."

Stephanie referred to Lucius Fox, the technical director and executive president of Wayne Group. Lucius was Bruce Wayne's most trusted confidant, silently supporting him and providing high-tech equipment. The elevator swiftly ascended to the 17th floor, and after traversing a lengthy corridor, they arrived at Lucius's office.

Knocking sounds echoed through the door.

"It's me, Lucius."

The electronic door creaked open, revealing Lucius Fox, a middle-aged black man with glasses and gray hair. He greeted Stephanie, "Nice to meet you, Stephanie; how are you these few days?"

Stephanie reassured him, "Don't be nervous, Lucius; this gentleman behind me is with me."

Jude stepped forward and extended his hand. "Hello, Jude Herbert; nice to meet you."

Lucius realized, "Hello, sir, Bruce talked about you. You were a tremendous help in the recent incident."

Jude waved off the compliment. "It's a trivial matter. Besides, we are mutually beneficial. I'm here today to collect on that favor. Bruce should have informed you."

Lucius felt a bit awkward. "Of course, you can go to the warehouse with me shortly and take what you need."

"The warehouse? Don't try to pass off defective products. My eyes are the keenest and most intelligent in the world; they can see through everything."

"Well, you might want to visit my storage room."

"That's better; you must know how to share the good stuff."

Stephanie snapped a picture of Jude. "Okay, Mr. Lucius is an honest person. You're not allowed to take advantage of him. There's also a competition. If you lose because you're researching other things, you have to admit it."

"I will lose? Oh, Stephanie, it seems you don't understand what a real genius is. With your humble IQ, it's indeed difficult to comprehend."

"Let's see. Lucius, summon all the personnel from the biological research department. I want to study the mutant potion. No one is allowed to go home for the next three days. Of course, you will be subsidized."

Lucius watched Jude and Stephanie banter with each other, a perplexed expression on his face. Although he didn't understand the reason, supporting Stephanie seemed like the right thing to do. After giving the order, Stephanie swiftly left, leaving Jude and Lucius exchanging bewildered glances.

"Mr. Herbert, please come with me. The items are stored underground. Many of them are radioactive."

"Radioactive? That's great; I like dangerous things."

They just went up to the 17th floor, took the elevator to the 11th floor, and passed through three large and airtight iron doors in a row. "

Here we are."

Lucius led Jude to a spacious area filled with numerous boxes. "There are a lot of things; do you need me to introduce them?"

"No need; I'll just walk around and have a look."

Jude strolled through the space with a cheerful demeanor, humming a small tune. Even through the sealed containers, he could smell the intoxicating fragrance emanating from within. After a few steps, his attention was captivated by a particular box.

"Memory nickel alloy, a good material; it should be excellent for making protective gear or weapons."

Lucius frowned upon seeing this and offered a caution. "Mr. Herbert, nickel alloys are harmful to the human body. If you make protective gear, the first person to be injured will likely be the owner."

Jude glanced at him and wiggled his finger playfully. "Outdated technology; if it's a pure nickel alloy, it won't work. But if you add a small amount of neodymium and indium, not only will it neutralize the toxicity, but it will also significantly enhance the strength and hardness of the nickel alloy."

Jude explained his approach confidently, leaving Lucius with a puzzled expression. "Mr. Herbert, are you kidding? Neodymium cannot be fused with nickel, and it will explode. Not to mention indium; it's more toxic than nickel alloys."

Jude grinned suddenly. "Mr. Lucius, allow me to inquire; have you tested your IQ?"

"What do you mean?" Lucius sensed there was more to Jude's words.

"I heard Damian say that Stephanie has an IQ of 142, considered genius level. Of course, compared to ordinary people, you seem to be falling short."

Lucius began to catch on. "Okay, so what?"

"I just wanted to point out that some methods may not seem to exist due to limited vision. You need to look a little further, like... into the future."

Jude's mention of divine mysteries left Lucius even more bewildered. He resolved to keep a close eye on Jude in the coming days, determined to find out what he had up his sleeve.

"Hey, brother Lucius, I want this box of memory nickel alloy mark it."

Lucius frowned. "You want all of it? No way!"

Jude clicked his tongue. "Is Bruce undermining me?"

"Mr. Bruce is unaware of the intricacies. This memory nickel alloy is very scarce. It's not just about the price but the immature forging process, leading to an extremely low output. This box contains the entire supply of Wayne Group, and I still have other plans for it."

Tsk, tsk, tsk...

Jude playfully shook his fingers. "Lucius, Stephanie mentioned you're an honest person, but I don't think so."

A bead of cold sweat formed on Lucius's forehead.

"With Wayne Group's current technology, dealing with this kind of memory nickel alloy should be challenging. You don't need to deny it; just our conversation has exposed your ignorance."

Feeling the pressure from Jude, Lucius instinctively took a step back.

"One-half, Mr. Herbert; this number is already substantial."

"I want it all!"

"A quarter, no more."

"Two-thirds; if you take less, you get nothing."

"One-third; this is my bottom line."

"Five-fifths, half it is; otherwise, I'll call Bruce."

Lucius felt choked. Knowing Bruce's arrogant character too well, he was certain Bruce would only say one thing: "Give it all to him."

"Alright

"All alright, one-half."

"Thank you for your cooperation. Stephanie was right; you're a good person. Let's go; the show's just starting."

"Do you need more? This should be enough." Lucius wiped his sweat, sensing a bad premonition.

"Hehe, what are you talking about? This is just the beginning."
