Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Meeting A Heroine
The next morning, Keith woke up full of energy and determination.
He greeted his system which surprisingly was still sleeping.
"Good morning Jerry," said Keith as he greeted his system after waking up but he never got a response instead all he heard was sounds of snoring.
[...]
[Zzzz ... Zzzz ... Zzzz ...]
'Wait, what ?! He is sleeping. I did not know that systems could sleep,' thought Keith as he heard the sound of the system snoring.
"Well then, let me go and take a shower," said Keith as he made his way to the bathroom to go and take a shower.
He entered the bathroom and looked at his reflection in the mirror and started to remember that the system had said that the average charm attribute for a person was 35 but he only has 20.
He felt disappointed because he was infact good looking but according to the average charm attribute for the people in this world, he was still ugly.
He sighed heavily before he took his toothbrush and then put some toothpaste on the toothbrush.
He then put the toothpaste back onto the basin before he put the toothbrush into his mouth and then started to brush his teeth.
After brushing his teeth, he took off his robe and then he hanged it on the bathroom's door.
After doing that, he got into the shower and then he opened the faucet and warm water started to come out of the shower head.
He started to cleanse his body with the water that poured over his body from the top of his head to his feet.
After taking a shower, Keith exited the bathroom and then he started to get ready to head out.
While Keith was getting dressed, the system, Jerry, woke up from its slumber and then it yawned loudly.
[*Yawn*]
When Keith heard the system yawning a small smile appeared on his face and then he started to laugh at the system as he made a joke at the system's expense.
"Hahaha, Good morning sunshine, how are you this morning ?" asked Keith as he started to laugh at the system again - but louder this time.
[Wait, what ?! How are you awake before me ?] - asked the system as it got surprised at the fact that Keith woke up before him.
"That is not good manners ! When someone greets you then you should reply to their greeting before you start to talk about other matters," chided Keith as he scolded the system for its lack of basic mannerisms which made the system blush profusely from embarrassment - that is if it could blush or get embarrassed.
[Uhh, I am sorry. Good morning Keith. I am feeling very well today. And how are you feeling today ?] - replied the system as it also asked Keith about his well being.
"Why I am feeling very wonderful today thank you," replied Keith as he tried to make an impression of a person who belonged to the noble circle.
[Ha ha, very funny.] - said the system in a sarcastic tone in its voice as it was not impressed with Keith's impression of a noble.
While the system was busy complaining about not being the one who woke up first Keith was getting dressed and by the time the system was done complaining, he had finished getting dressed.
He exited his house and looked around at his surroundings and then he took in a deep breath. He breathed out heavily before he started to walk towards the old man's food stall.
It was only 07:23 AM but Keith was sure that the old man had already set up his food stall but if he had not set up yet, then he would just wait for the old man to come and set up his food stall.
He was walking down the road and he was getting close to the city's exit gates. He looked over to where the old man's food stall was set yesterday and a huge smile formed on his face as he saw that the old man had arrived and he was still busy setting his food stall up.
But what caught Keith's attention was that the old man was not alone as there was someone else with him busy helping the old man to set his food stall up.
By the looking at the person, Keith concluded that the person who was helping the old man was a female.
He then proceeded to approach the duo and then he greeted them before he offered to help them with the set up as well.
"Good morning. Mind if I joined in ?" asked Keith as he greeted the duo with a friendly smile on his face.
"Oh, good morning young man," replied the old man with a surprised expression on his face as he did not expect anyone to be at his stall this early, especially when he was still not done setting up his food stall.
"Sure you can !" said the old man as he accepted Keith's offer for his help.
Keith then looked over to the female who seemed to be his age or slightly older and then he greeted her too, while he introduced himself to the female.
"Good morning my lady, my name is Keith Selves. What might your name be ?" asked Keith as he introduced himself with a friendly smile on his face.
The young woman's face flushed red as she saw the slightly good looking male greet her.
"Uhm ... my n-n-name i-i-is Charlotte L-Levine," replied the young woman as she stammered from being nervous.
"Uhh, flirting with my granddaughter now, are we ?" asked the old man as he started eyeing Keith with a look of suspicion which caused Keith to reply quickly in an attempt to defend himself which only caused the old man to laugh heartily.
"No no no, I am not ! I was just greeting the beautiful lady is all !" said Keith with a flustered expression on his face which caused the old man to laugh heartily while the young woman blushed profusely at being called beautiful.
"Hahaha, I was just joking. There is no need to be so serious," said the old man as he started to laugh heartily at Keith's reaction.
The trio then proceeded to finish setting up the food stall in complete silence.
While they were setting up the food stall, Keith began to think about where he had heard the young woman's name before.
After a few minutes of thinking very hard, Keith started to remember where he had read the young woman's name before.
'She is one of the heroines of the novel I have transmigrated into,' thought Keith as his eyes widened when he was struck with the sudden realization.
'Infact if I remember correctly, she was the first member of the protagonist's harem,' thought Keith with a thoughtful look on his face.
'Hmm ... she even looks like her description that was given for her in the novel,' thought Keith with a thoughtful look on his face.
'Long light blue hair with matching sapphire blue eyes. A slightly pointed nose and plump pink lips. A slightly pointed chin with a slightly rounded face. Truly magnificent,' thought Keith while he looked at the young woman's appearance and then he nodded in acknowledgement.
Fortunately for Keith, the old man and the young woman had not seen him starting at the young woman.
After a few minutes they completed setting the old man's food stall up.
The old man looked at Keith and then he asked him if he wanted to buy the grilled chicken again this morning.
"So you want the grilled chicken again ?" asked the old man with a smile on his face while he was looking at the young boy in front of him.
"Yes please," replied Keith with an excited expression on his face.
"Okay ! Coming right up," said the old man with a determined expression on his face as he started to prepare to cook the grilled chicken.
Charlotte looked at the comical interaction between her grandfather and the slightly handsome male with a smile radiating on her face.
Charlotte is a shy girl who loves to read books in her spare time.
In the novel when the academy had reopened, Charlotte was always reading a book and her classmates always bullied her for thinking that she was a bully.
She was strong enough to fight off the bullies and to protect herself but she did not have any confidence and courage to stand up for herself.
One day, Charlotte was reading a book in the library when her bullies came over to bully her but before they could do so the protagonist had appeared and saved her.
After that day, Charlotte and the protagonist became good friends and later became a couple after Charlotte confessed her feelings to the protagonist.
She became a brave person after becoming a couple with the protagonist. She even started to fight off her bullies and was very 'enlightening' when she shared the bed with the protagonist.
But Keith decided that he was going to change all of those events and that he was going to claim this 'meek' girl for himself.
So after waiting for the grilled chicken to finish cooking, Keith took out five copper coins from his pouch and then he handed them over to the old man. He took the piece of meat and gobbled it all done.
After eating the grilled chicken, Keith decided to asked the old man about where he could sell his items that he had received from killing the monsters in [The Dark Forest] the previous day.
