Chapter 54: Sneak out
"Alright, let's do this!" Alex said with a comprehensive voice as he kept the book in the corner and closed his eyes, he began to sense the mana in the air.
Only five seconds passed and Alex could already feel it!
He currently felt that there was an invisible stream of strange energy flowing around him that made the air slightly heavy and different.
This must be mana!
Alex focused more and he began to feel that he could grab onto this flow of invisible energy and control it with his hands but he knew that it was just a feeling as he could not touch mana, he could not even see it with his eyes!
But that wasn't the matter at the moment, Alex tried probing the stream of invisible energy with his thoughts. He did not know how to do it and simply imagined touching the invisible stream with an invisible hand and shockingly, the invisible stream of energy, mana, responded to him and began to move according to his thoughts.
"So this is the feeling of controlling mana" Alex muttered in pleasant surprise and continued to immerse himself in the feeling, he controlled the mana around him and the mana moved according to his thoughts.
It felt unrealistic!
Alex played with the mana for a few minutes before controlling it to move towards him which the mana obeyed and flowed over to Alex, they followed each of his commands!
While Alex was already starting to absorb mana, a certain Vee could be seen staring at the wall in the other room.
Vee was resting his head on his pillow as he stared at what Alex was doing through the wall, his gaze easily pierced through the wall and reached Alex who was in the other room.
"As expected, he's just as talented as me. Others would take hours just to get in contact with mana and he's already controlling it" Vee mumbled, pleased by the speed of Alex's progress. One had to agree that even amongst mages with peak-grade talents, not all were equal in terms of mana control.
"I'll give him a little push then"
Vee said and casually waved his hand.
Alex who was in the other room suddenly heard a faint howling sound as the mana inside his room immediately increased more than five times.
"What the?!" Alex was flustered at the sudden change and lost control over the mana he was absorbing for a brief moment, he observed the situation for a brief moment before resuming what he was doing.
'I wonder if the same thing is happening with Vee and the others' Alex thought to himself as he focused on absorbing mana.
A few minutes later Alex realized that not only did the mana around him suddenly increase, but the speed at which he was absorbing mana had also increased as well and he was soon filled just after a few minutes.
The feeling of having one's soul filled with mana was completely new to Alex. He felt as if his soul was a small bottle and the mana had been stuffed inside it till it could not take in any more.
"Wow, I thought it would take an hour or more, but I can't take in any more mana just after a few minutes?"
Alex was stunned as the remaining mana scattered around him and continued to flow around him just like before.
Since his soul could no longer take in mana, Alex decided to move to forming his stars; the seven stars of the star pattern had to be formed using mana before a mage would take them and then use them to construct their star pattern.
In the other room…
"This is so boring" Vee laid flat on his bed, a very bored look on his face. It was still noon and the sun was still high in the sky, he wasn't going to watch Alex for the rest of the day, right? He would get bored to death!
An idea suddenly came to Vee's mind and his eyes lit up like a kid who finally found something to play with after studying for a long time.
He floated off his bed and drifted over to his wardrobe before changing into different clothes.
A pair of long black pants, a white shirt, and a red hoodie above the shirt.
"This is better…ahh, should make a little change" Vee exclaimed and his body suddenly began to undergo a change. His height increased and he was now as tall as Brown, his face also changed and he now looked like an older version of the Vee who Alex and the others were familiar with. He looked to be in his early twenties.
His white hair fell a bit below his ears while his eye colors turned turquoise. If Alex saw Vee right now, he would think he was Vee's(himself) elder brother.
"Now everything's perfect" Vee's voice sounded in the room but he was nowhere to be seen in the room, he had suddenly disappeared like a ghost.
Vee appeared five hundred meters in the air above the academy, his eyes zoomed in on the lodge Area, and didn't find a single student outside.
It was to be expected. Even though it was still day, all the students were currently locked up in their rooms trying to form stars. Aside from that, Vee felt the presence of some other mages who were most likely teachers or staff.
His eyes pierced through their lodge and fell on Alex.
"I'll see how far you get when I get back"
And with that said, Vee disappeared again.
Dozens of kilometers away from the Royal Magic Academy, the whole place was bustling with people as they carried about with their daily lives. Tall skyscrapers lined up on both sides of the street, shorter buildings could be seen scattered in between.
Hover cars and hover buses could be seen driving along the street, and a few people could also be seen riding on hoverbikes.
People in suits and luxurious clothes patrolled the sidewalks while many entered and exited the commercial buildings on the side. Most of these people were ordinary people and one could easily tell that they had impressive backgrounds from how they were dressed.
Vee silently appeared in the middle of two small stalls, the place was relatively empty with only a few people walking past in front; nobody noticed Vee's sudden appearance since no one was paying attention to the narrow alley.
