Chapter 19: AUCTION 1

In the site of the biggest charity auction in all of Summerlane, Anna was seated on the second floor of the building as she watched the scene before her with interest.

Seated beside the rare blue eyed woman was none other than Noah, who also watched the scene before him with interest, but not with more interest than the woman with him. He hasn't taken his eyes off her since he saw her and hasn't stopped telling her how beautiful she looked in the red dress she wore.

They were all alone on the second floor with not a single soul to disturb them. Noah made sure of that.

He had thought this auction would be so boring and only wanted to be here because of his grandfather, but it seems to be more interesting than he imagined.

It's been a while since Anna had gone to public places especially after everything that happened to her and he wanted to make sure his wife will be more than comfortable with him.

"Where is Noah?" Elder Vincent Declan asked Paul who was standing in the backstage as he helped to arrange things around just like his boss has requested.

"Master Noah has already arrived and is on the second floor." Paul responded. He knew his boss didn't want to introduce his wife yet to his family, but he couldn't understand what he was thinking bringing her here to this auction knowing his grandfather and a few of his family members will be here.

"The second floor? I thought it was closed for the day?" Elder Vincent asked staring at Paul suspiciously. He wasn't very fond of Noah's assistant especially because the man lied too much just like his grandson.

"Oh yes, master brought in a friend and he wants his privacy." Paul's smile suddenly fell when he saw the disdainful look on the old man's face.

"A friend?" Vincent asked and Paul nodded.

"Is it a man?" Paul almost choked at the old man's question.

Was it now a bad thing to hang out with men?

"N... No no sir, I... It's a woman this time he...."

"A girl?" Vincent asked cutting Paul's words and Paul quickly nodded. Vincent's frown quickly turned to a very wonderful smile, wrinkling the wrinkles in his eyes as he showed off his white teeth.

"Oh Paul good job, good job." He clapped patting Paul's shoulder.

"Who is she?" He asked quietly.

"I don't have any idea sir, but I think it's going to work this time." Paul chimmed and Vincent's smile widened. He could die a happy man tonight and either go to heaven or hell, but he knew his soul would be delighted knowing his grandson has finally found the right woman.

Vincent couldn't wait to see her. For his grandson to bring her here, she must really be of importance to him. Now he was eager to see her. Oh how he'll have his great grandchildren running around his mansion soon.

"This calls for celebration Paul. Oh I'm the happiest man on earth. I'll be a greatgrandaddy soon." His smile and happiness was suddenly cut short as he paused and stared at the man standing before him with narrowed eyes.

How could he forget how much of a lair Paul and Noah were. They have decieved him like this in the past, but he won't let them decieve him again. He would be a fool if he let them.

"How do I know you aren't joking with me Paul. Take me to my grandson." Paul's eyes widened at the old man's words. Oh his boss is so going to kill him. What will he do?

"S... Sir master Noah has specifically asked not to be disturbed tonight. Why will I lie to a honourable man like you in the first place?" He asked as his heart raced with fear.

Is this how he dies tonight? Who knew this will be his end?

Paul couldn't imagine the punishment his boss will give him.

"Nonsense. You're a liar just like your boss Paul. I'm no fool, take me to Noah, we don't have to make any noise or let them see us, I just want to see her for myself." Vincent stated.

"A... Alright sir, I'll take you to them but we'll leave immediately?" Paul asked.

"Yes yes Paul, what do you take me for?" He quickly took the old man to the second floor which was closed from any and everyone.

The gigantic men by the door stepped aside when they saw Vincent Declan walk over. No one had to tell them twice to give way for the old man.

Though old now, during his days and even till now, Vincent Declan is a fearsome figure. A powerful and heartless man who for countless decades rained fire on those who were beneath him. He ruled the city along with everyone in it.

But as he got older, Vincent realized money and power were important. But they aren't as important as family. He has now passed all of his wealth and possessions to his grandson, but he had said the only way Noah could access all of it was only when he got married. Vincent was retired now, all he wanted at his old age was happiness.

Paul stood by the door taking in deep breaths but before he could open the door Elder Declan pushed the door open...
