Chapter 28: Unexpected Event
"It's all your fault!!!" shouted a man dressed all in black amidst the falling snow that night.
From the sound of his voice, he sounded furious at someone standing not far in front of him. With a knife in his hand, he pointed it at a woman who was looking at him in surprise.
"If I had known things would turn out like this from the start, I wouldn't have gone this far!" the man snapped.
"Now I'm going to do what I have to do to you and make you mine!"
The man ran and tried to brutally attack the woman.

A few hours earlier...
"Two teas with honey and two extra-cheese spaghetti specials? Okay."
Amanda was working at Jhon's cafe as usual. She recorded all the customers' orders in her book and handed them to Jhon.
"Excuse me, we'd like to order too!" called another customer from another table.
"Okay, wait a minute!" Amanda walked over to them and took down their orders.
That day, the customers were not as busy as usual. There weren't many tourists, most of them were spending time at the hotel because it was very cold outside.
Even since last night, it had been snowing steadily but not heavily.
"Hmn... Should we close the cafe until the new year? It looks like there aren't many people coming and it's better to stay inside than freezing outside," said Jhon at the time.
"But are you sure you want to close it?" asked Amanda.
"Yes, maybe tomorrow will be the last time we open and I'll reopen after the new year," replied Jhon.
Amanda had no right to stop Jhon if that was his decision, he owned the cafe and Jhon did most of the cooking. So Amanda could only follow him.
"Okay... But Jhon... Is it okay... I'm umn..."
"What's wrong?" asked Jhon surprised to see Amanda who didn't usually talk like that.
"Can you... Can you spare two pieces of chocolate cake for me? I'll pay for it after work. I'm in the mood for chocolate cake," Amanda begged Jhon.
Jhon who heard Amanda's request immediately fell silent for a moment. He understood that Amanda was pregnant and she was in the mood for chocolate cake. So he set aside two pieces of chocolate cake and put them in the fridge according to Amanda's order.
The day went on as usual, customers ordered and Amanda delivered their food. Everything looked normal except for one customer who was sitting in the corner. He had been there for almost two hours, watching Amanda.
And all he ordered was a cup of coffee. Not with food or anything, nor did he respond when Amanda asked him to talk.
When Amanda approached him and offered to refill his coffee, he was silent. Amanda was confused, what was wrong with him?
'Is he unable to speak? Or is he in trouble?' she thought confusedly.
However, not knowing what was wrong with the man, Amanda left him and offered coffee to another customer. The man continued to watch Amanda who was talking intimately with the other customers.

At nine in the evening, it was time for Amanda to leave the cafe and go home. Jhon gave her the two pieces of chocolate cake that Amanda had ordered. Amanda looked so happy because she had been craving sweets since noon.
When Amanda was about to pay for it, Jhon refused and told Amanda to take it with her. The woman was confused because Jhon gave her the cake for free.
"But I bought it, not asked for it from you, Jhon. I have to pay for it," Amanda said.
"Just take it," Jhon replied in a firm tone and then went to the kitchen to clean up the rest of his work.
Hearing that, Amanda smiled at her boss's kindness.
"Alright, thanks Jhon! Then I'll see you tomorrow!" Amanda replied and took the cake home.
It was still snowing outside, luckily she had brought an umbrella since morning. So she opened the umbrella and walked home.
Amanda saw that the snow was so thick on the side of the road, while the road she was walking on had been cleared with a shovel by the men who lived around there, so that other pedestrians could pass through the road.
The streets were unusually quiet, and with the snow falling, people chose to stay in their warm homes.
"Fuhh... After this we'll eat chocolate cake and drink hot tea with honey in a warm room, don't you like it, dear?" Amanda asked her son.
When they were about to arrive home, Amanda saw someone standing in front of her, not far from her.
The person seemed to be standing still while facing Amanda. Amanda was confused, who was this person? What was he doing alone in the middle of the snowfall and the quiet streets at that time.
"Hello... Sir? Are you okay?" Amanda asked from a distance. She had no idea who the man was and she better be careful.
"It's all your fault..." the man said.
"Hmn? What do you mean?" asked Amanda in confusion.
Upon closer inspection, Amanda realized that the man was the same man who had been watching her at the café. She could recognize him by the clothes he was wearing.
"It's all your fault! Why did you have to cover up that big belly of yours?! Why didn't you tell me from the start that you were pregnant?" the strange man snapped.
"What's wrong with him? Why would he say that?"
"I've liked you since I first saw your beauty and friendliness at the cafe! I always wished and imagined you to be mine! Like me! But it turned out that you were pregnant with another man's child. It makes my feelings hurt." The man suddenly pulled out a knife from under his shirt.
Realizing that, Amanda took a step back. She knew that the man was dangerous, but now there were only the two of them there.
She couldn't run anywhere because of the slippery road. She couldn't go back to Jhon's cafe either, it would endanger him.
"I always follow you and make sure you get home safely. I can't accept seeing you carrying another man's child."
"What are you going to do? You better stop and get out of my sight!" Amanda said while glaring at the horrible man.
"I'll do what I'm supposed to do. Take the baby out by force and make you mine!"
After that, the man ran straight towards Amanda while pointing his knife at her.
Amanda, who was already having a hard time fighting due to her rounded belly, tried to stay in an alert position while closing her umbrella, using it as her weapon.
When the man was very close, he raised the knife and then...
