Chapter 40: Real Feelings

As the days passed, Kylie began to gather more information about her target in District 36. She extended her time in that place to search more thoroughly while keeping an eye on the surroundings. She suspected that there would be illicit transactions made by her target.

Amanda didn't mind if Kylie stayed with her longer. She was just happy to have a friend during her current pregnancy difficulties. Kylie helped her a lot at home and it made things easier for her.

She even told Amanda to stop working as a cafe waitress. According to her, it was too much for Amanda to do while she was pregnant, let alone when the baby was born later.

"If you need money, I can send you my money every month. You just take care of yourself and your child," Kylie said.

"No, I can't trouble you. You have to send your money to mom and dad anyway, right? I can still earn my own money," Amanda replied.
