Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Contract (EDITED)
They walked through the lavish halls covered with golden statues, paintings of all sorts of remarkable people, expensive porcelains, and guards who stared at them intimidatingly which slightly made Rumi uncomfortable but she didn't mind. 'At least they're properly doing their job' She thought before bringing up a new topic.
'Hmm…now that I'm in another world, maybe I should pursue becoming a slacker? I always dreamed of becoming those manhwa characters who live luxurious lives while not doing work'
She thinks about it briefly before finally arriving at the halls of the throne which was revealed by two royal guards. There on the throne sat an old but powerful man. He holds a staff in his right hand and a cross in his left hand. He looked closely at the summoned 'Heroes' in a cold gaze before the High Priest spoke casting the king's gaze away from the heroes
"These are the summoned heroes my king"
Rumi spotted an emblem containing four swords and a crown on a lion's head on the King's throne. '
That's..' She widens her eyes as her fingertips shake in fear.
'That's the emblem I made for the Holy empire in my book...That can't be...'
She clenched her fists as she realizes 'Damn it! This isn't another world, This is my book!! I've been summoned in the novel I wrote 3 years ago!!'
She cries in her mental state of mind just from the information she just received. No matter what, she couldn't believe it. There's no way she was summoned in her book, and not only that, she was summoned in the Holy Empire of that book.
Just how bad was her actual luck to the point of being here?
The King nodded seeing the heroes "It seems there are quite a handful...Good Job High Priest"
'No way he just said that' Rumi gasped lightly looking at the King. 'Damn…Are they really hinting to us they've kidnapped us?'
The High priest bowed respectfully and proudly while Rumi looked at the King who had just said those words in front of her
'wait, are we hostages? Considering the nature of my Holy Empire, I guess we technically are but I'm not sure yet..'
'but besides that, damn it! Getting summoned in a book you've read is another thing, but getting summoned in a book you've written is too much!!' She changes the topic yet again, crying in her mind remembering how she made the Holy Empire at least one of the top hated countries that could exist here in Eden
The King looked at the High Priest before sighing "It seems he has not told you."
"2000 years ago, the Demon King and his kind were a major threat to us the people of Eden"
Rumi paid attention as the King continued to speak along with her classmates and teacher which was surprising for Rumi to even listen to these things even when she already knew about it.
'Well…Just to make sure I'm on the right track that this is my book, I'll listen to the King'
"The people of this world have been the prey of those demons before heroes appeared to save us from the brink of extinction." The King continued "The past heroes have successfully sealed the Demon King off of Eden but now, it seems someone has successfully broken the seal, reviving the Demon King and his lackeys"
'Seems exactly right' She takes a breather after fully confirming this is her book.
'But wait why am I relieved?!'
He puts his staff and cross away and puts his hands together "That is why, please save this world through your best of abilities and we shall grant you a wish you may want. Whether its gold, jewelry, a title or even going back to your world, we will do so as long as you defeat our main enemy, the Demon King"
All of the heroes fell silent at the remark before Mrs. Darby spoke up "Alright well help you"
Immediately all of the other heroes including Rumi looked at her in disbelief 'This is a trap, Mrs. Darby!! Do you think the Holy Empire is going to reward you their promised rewards without a contract of the Heavens?! You're even more delusional than me! Wake up!!'
"W-well...If that's the only way we can go back to Earth, I guess it's worth of shot?" Ari smiled innocently as a dried smile formed on Rumi's lips
'Ari...I know you're one of my closest friends but I would punch you to wake you up from your delusions right now' she looks at Ari menacingly causing goosebumps on her skin
"Wait let's think about this more clearly" A girl walks to the scene, she has curly black hair with a gradient of pink in braids and a dark skin tone as she looks at the two of them sternly. "We can't fully trust them-"
Mrs. Darby interrupted her "Don't worry I know what I'm doing Omori and I'm doing this since we need support from them. We're new in this world and have little knowledge of it. The best thing we can do is cooperate with them especially since we also don't have any of their currency"
'I prefer dying rather than working with these monsters' Rumi continued to smile dryly before silently and secretly side-eye her teacher for making that decision.
Most of the heroes thought about it deeply before Rumi finally spoke up, itching to ask this question to the King "If we refuse, can we still get our [Status] checked?"
All of their eyes fall into hers but that didn't shake up Rumi's determination to leave this place
'I'm fucking going. there's no way I'll be staying here! The probability of me returning to Earth is higher if I leave this place especially since I already know everything about this world, information is not a problem with me'
'I also know the future so I can just maybe....just maybe...cling to this world's protagonist golden thighs' She smiles shamefully in her mind
'Maybe I can also exploit the main protagonist...'
"Hmm...I see you already know about our ceremony" The King looked at her, judging and studying her every move, suspicious of her
Rumi smiled "It's a popular concept to us too Your Majesty but unlike in your world, we don't have systems. It is but purely fictional in our world"
"I see...then, if you may wish to get your status checked and still leave you may do so." The king pointed his hand to the orb as Rumi smirked
"Without me being assassinated?" She looks at the King as if she has already known his plans, which is true.
The High priest became enraged as she suspected the Holy Empire of killing her. "What nonsense?!-"
The King laughed comically interrupting the High Priest as he used his arm to support his head while leaning to the throne "Yes without us harming nor killing you"
He looks interested in Rumi. He gets the feeling that this girl may be a promising gem and she knows it that's why she's trying to run away from this place but he won't let that happen. After all, he needs all plausible useful pawns to satisfy 'him' right?
Rumi falls silent before bowing down "Please write a contract, your majesty. If I die or experience a life-threatening experience within a month after leaving and while being in the Holy Empire, I was assassinated by your orders and you are to compensate me ten thousand gold. Of course, If I die, you won't compensate me ten thousand gold and instead admit you have killed me."
'I know fully the worth of ten thousand gold coins. With that kind of money, You'll be able to provide a luxurious lifestyle for your family for at least three generations, buy a noble title higher than a baron, and even, buy yourself a mansion!! Do you think I came here with no absolute knowledge? Fufufu….Just wait, before my protagonist destroys you all! And while we're waiting for it, I'm going to milk you dry in this contract' She smiles menacingly inwardly to herself
"Of course, I don't mind whatever method you do to confirm your allegations, I'm just saying this for my safety" She chuckles bringing more anger to the priest and King.
'You're playing a dangerous game to yourself Rumi' She says inwardly to herself
'But surprisingly this is fun'
The king had no choice but to agree to her words and say reluctantly "Bring in a contract sheet."
One of the officials handed one to him and he wrote all the conditions Rumi wanted and needs
"Is this enough?" He gives the contract to one of the soldiers to pass it on to her.
[Contract formed with the Heaven watching
From this forward on, Rumi will:
1 Cut ties with the Holy Empire
2 Receive 100 Gold from the Holy Empire for her departure
3 Still be able to get her class check
If Rumi dies or experiences a life-threatening experience upon one month of her being in Eden, she must be compensated for:
If she dies- the Holy Empire will take responsibility and will declare they are the murderer of the otherworld hero, Rumi.
If experienced- Ten thousand gold coins compensation for the traumatic experience she has endured.

"Yes your majesty, thank you." She looked at the content before signing while the King gritted his teeth displeased by the situation.
'There's no way she'll experience a life-threatening situation right?' The king thinks to himself and shakes his head
The contract then glowed after Rumi had successfully signed the contract before it transcended into another sphered planet close to Eden where it was placed in the bookshelves of the God of contracts. Kept in a secure place leaving her classmates and teacher in shock.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay here Rumi?" Her Teacher, Ms. Darby asked. Rumi immediately nodded with no hesitation "I've already signed the contract miss"
"Are you sure? You won't be able to return to Earth...maybe you can still cancel the contract.." Ms. Darby said worriedly
'Go back my ass. We'll all be better yet if we die here and meet our loved ones in Heaven' Rumi thought to herself thinking all the major events that would happen in the future causing millions of casualties.
'Thankfully I managed to find a way to get away from this cursed Empire whose the root of it all' she smiled triumphally in her mind.
"Yes I'm sure so please don't worry about me" Rumi smiled and grabbed both of her hands "I'll be fine."
"Alright then, if there aren't any more interruptions, let the ceremony commence!" The king shouts as the high priest continues to explain.
"The ceremony is all about receiving blessing from our blessed guardian. Every year, people would flock into the temple and see if they were chosen or not but I am sure the heroes would be able to have the blessing of our guardian"
Charlie raised his hand and asked, "Isn't it supposed to be God, High Priest?"
"Yes well, our guardian said that if she was the Creator, who could've created her? How could she walk on mortal land and bring peace upon the three realms?" The high priest smiled as he lectured everyone about their guardian and surprisingly enough, Rumi did not pick out malicious intent on him
'Huh…that's strange…I can't pick out any weird aura on him but never mind that. Looks like their guardian is wrong huh?' She lightly scoffs before making a painful expression
'You're right guardian' She nods in agreement with the words of wisdom of the guardian 'There's no way I could be here but why am I here?!' She screams in her head, cursing out the Gods in heaven and her past self who wrote this book in the first place.
A white girl with blond hair from Rumi's class suddenly asked "Three realms?"
"Yes, the three realms. Hell, The Heavens, and Eden. Peace was brought by a long time ago and the three realms soon became peace together. There was no discrimination anymore…Except for Angels and Demons" The high priest responded quite hesitantly.
'I know why..' Rumi smiled remembering her past twelve-year-old self putting the guardian, the first Demon King, and an Archangel in a love triangle because of her weird fetish of reading romance novels that have drama on them.
'If I knew this was gonna happen, I should've told my past self to not include this!' She died in
embarrassment just remembering how she 'evilly' laughed writing about this.
'This could've been a slice of life story..'
"Fuck…" She cursed under her breath before Ari noticed her
"Are you okay Rumi?" She asked worriedly as Rumi smiled and nodded hesitantly
"Yeah.." 'No.' She leaves out the last part.
…..
A tall girl with a jellyfish haircut and glasses raised her hand to ask "But if everyone is living in harmony, why do we need to defeat the Demon King?"
The King then spoke with an icy cold voice. "That is because the current Demon King has become a tyrant who rules above everyone. You heroes need to defeat him through your abilities and bring peace to our world again."
'Bullshit' Rumi crossed her arms.
'The world is at peace. it's you guys who want to bring destruction instead. I remember the Demon King being killed by you people because of the philosopher stone.'
'This is why I didn't want to stay here any longer or ever return after leaving, but it looks like I'll have to come back once I'm stronger.' She sighs in defeat
She sighs at the thought of her rich and lazed life being delayed.
'I have no choice all of them are real humans unlike the people here so get it together Rumi!'
She slaps both of her cheeks filled with determination
The High Priest suddenly called someone to bring the 'Connect orb'
"All of the heroes would place their hand on this orb. With this orb, you would be able to attain the guardian's blessing that would help you conquer this world!" The high priest exclaims bringing slight confusion in Rumi's mind
'Shouldn't it be 'Fight the Demon King? Well whatever it seems his old age is getting the better of him'
She shrugs and lines up with everybody else to get their stats checked
"This means we are getting a class right?" Grace, that one girl with jellyfish hairstyle and glasses asked while behind her
"Mhmn! Yeah, I guess that's correct" Rumi returns to her cutesy side of hers she usually shows to her friends and teachers.
"She turned to her friend Ari, who was standing in front of her, and asked, 'What do you think, Ari? What are you going to get?'"
Ari hesitated for a moment before responding, "Well, I'm not sure, as long as it's not a fighting class. With all the magical creatures here, there might be monsters, and going to the front line would be a bit..." She trailed off, leaving the rest unsaid.
Rumi nodded at Ari's logical statement "That's true…I'd prefer I get something like a merchant class-"
"Woah! I got the merchant class!!" One of her classmates exclaims interrupting her wish.
Rumi was immediately jealous as she clicked her tongue from him getting a simple but stable class that would make him rich, but the High priest was disappointed
"I see..."
"Jeez! When you get rich, make sure to host our reunion okay?" One of her classmates teased Luke, the guy who got the merchant class Rumi wanted.
"Argh! That's too expensive though!" They laughed together as Rumi stared at them with jealousy
If only I got that one…' She cries on the inside gripping and biting her handkerchief out of jealousy before Ari consoles her by rubbing her head
"Heh...you're so short" Ari smugs as she looks down at Rumi
"It's because you're too tall" She glares and pouts at her friend
It was soon Ari's turn as she placed her hand on the orb.
"Now then, focus on your inner soul and say the word [Status]" The high priest guided Ari carefully as Rumi scoffed at his actions
'At least you have said one right thing in your whole life'
Ari then breathed deeply before chanting "[Status]"
A white warm glow engulfed her body as she looked at her status window
"Looks like we can't see other's status windows huh?" Rumi mumbled to herself, however Grace, the girl with a jellyfish haircut and glasses heard her
"You know, if you weren't so focused on being jealous of Luke, you would've known that" Grace nagged her before getting interrupted by Ari who said in a disbelieving voice getting the attention of the two girls behind her
"I'm....a Saintess...?"
Everyone immediately looked at her with interest including the king
"Oh my God…"
"A Saintess?"
"It seems our creator supports us in our mission!"
One of the white robe priests exclaimed getting the attention of Rumi
Many of the white-robed priests whispered to each other excitedly while others continued to be in disbelief as well as Rumi.
However, she wasn't exactly in disbelief of Ari becoming a saintess
'What do you mean I support war, you idiots?! There must be something on your mind to think you would want the very being that created all of you, to want war and destruction in the very same paradise I created!' She shouts in her head furiously. Clearly in disbelief of the minds of these so-called 'priests'
'Keep calm Rumi…Keep calm…All of them don't know anything…They don't know of the nights I spent creating my novel, they don't know the times I was fuming trying to make all of my grammar right in my book just to please my readers who don't even comment!' She was mad. Really mad.
On the other side, unlike Rumi who was fuming, everyone was amazed and happy by this
"Our creator has sent us a saintess!" The King announced as everybody cheered
"All-hail the saintess! All hail the Holy Empire!" The white-robed priests cheered
"Congrats Ari!"
Rumi finally maintained her anger to the priests who kept cheering after receiving a saintess from one of the people they kidnapped and hugged her
"You deserve that title Ari!" Omori smiled as others joined in
"You'll heal us when we're sick right? Or whenever were injured?"
"Of course," Ari smiled and sat down at the sides with many other people talking to her while Rumi remained in the line ready to activate the class she was born with.
"Okay...I can do this..." Rumi gulped and touched the orb and immediately, a black and yellow aura engulfed her different from others gaining attention from everyone again.
'Please be a good class…. But also please be a class that won't require me to do work!' Rumi prayed and concentrated her feelings hoping it would reach the Gods that exist in Heaven.
"[Status!]" She shouts and the world immediately changes from the main hall of the Holy Kingdom's palace to a black void with nothing but darkness.

Fun Fact! Did you know that the High priest is also the Head priest of the Holy Empire? It's just stated differently but the meaning is the same. Head=High
Our Rumi loved to read historical villainess manwhas where the head priest's title is 'High Priest'.
