Chapter 27: Biggest Fool
David listened to Sophia and clenched his teeth, he then let out a sigh. 'Just drink that tea once and then I will be the one taking you and your mother to the garden.'
David thought and relaxed a bit, he didn't reply to Sophia's words.
He knew that replying to anything right now would only cause problems in his plan and he didn't want that to happen.
He wants her to drink tea first after that he will take his revenge.
Sophia looked at him turning silent and an even more angry expression appeared on her face, she took a step forward and energy surged through her first.
She was extremely angry, how dare he make his mother work when he was here.
"You have been freeloading all this time, you ungrateful cockroach!" She clenched her teeth and was prepared to attack him. However before she could move another step, Roxy's voice resounded in the living area.
"Sophia, it's not his fault, I wanted to make this tea for my dear daughter." She said suddenly, dispelling the heavy atmosphere.
She didn't want Sophia to beat up David as it would backfire on her later on.
If Sophia did anything to David then he would take revenge on her, after Sophia is gone and when Roxy and David are alone he would not let her go easily, he might even use the whip to punish her.
When Sophia heard her words a frown appeared on her face and she looked at Roxy with a confused expression.
"But why mother?" She asked with her brows raised. She couldn't understand why Roxy would do this.
She knew how much Roxy hated doing the menial chores, and although she loved her, she had never made food or tea for her after David was grown up a little, since then every work in the house was done by David, so she was a bit confused as to why Roxy suddenly made a tea for her today.
"It's because I brought some special ingredients from the market today and I didn't want David to ruin them." She moved towards her a bit. "Since your admission time is coming, I wanted to give you some special herbs so it can help improve your cultivation. From today on I will make tea for you daily."
Her gaze then moved to Dvaid. "I can't let this pathetic loser ruin the expensive materials I have brought." She said and looked at Roxy again.
She has made a perfect excuse. David didn't wanna do the chores from now on, and Roxy would rather do chores than give Sophia poison, this was the reason why she made this excuse.
By this, she killed two birds with a single stone. Not only did she solve the current matters she also prepared excuses for the future Teas she would make for Sophia.
Sophia listened to her and a warm feeling moved through her body, "Mother..." She looked at Roxy as tears formed in her eyes. "You didn't have to do it..." She said and took the teacup from her hand.
She was sad because Roxy was sacrificing so much for her. She had already quit her luxurious life for her tuition and now she is spending even more of her money to give her special herbs to prepare for the Divine Sea Academy's entrance examination, Sophia was grateful for it.
She looked at the tea and a shameful expression appeared on her face, even her eyes turned teary. 'I am such a bad daughter! To feed off my mothers private money all my life!' She hated herself right now.
She was sure that Roxy had brought these materials with her own saved money.
She knew that Roxy was saving money for her old age, so she could live peacefully, however now she was even sacrificing her future for her.
'Although she doesn't show it, but I know that she was saving money for herself, but now she is using it on me! I promise that I will give her a luxurious life after I get into the Divine Sea Academy!' She promised herself with a determined expression on her face.
She has had enough, she couldn't see her mother's sacrifices anymore.
She wanted to give her a good life and that's what she has decided to do once she gets into the Academy.
She looked back at Roxy and with a sigh, she moved a step forward.
"Thanks, Mom." She said and moved the teacup towards her nose. She was grateful to Roxy and all she could do was say thanks to her.
Her mother was doing so much for her and she was happy by the fact.
Just as the teacup came near her nose she felt a strange scent coming from it. 'This tea... It smells bad.' She gulped her saliva and without thinking too much she also took a sip from it. 'It even tastes bad...' She thought however didn't stop, she knew that Roxy had made this tea with love and affection, and although it tasted bad, she wanted to drink it, as the tea would benefit her no matter how bad it tasted.
Never once did she suspect that the tea was laced with any sort of poison or bad things as Roxy was the one that prepared it, she knew that Roxy loved her and could never do anything devious to her.
There was no reason to do so. Why would her mother, who loved her so much put anything bad in the tea?
David looked at Sophia savouring the tea and chuckled internally, 'This girl... She believes in her mother blindly. It's only helping me.'
He was happy with the fact that everything was going according to plan, now he just had to wait for her to finish the tea and after that, he would start the main program, he was gonna brainwash her as her mental fortitude would turn to zero and it would be easy to to implant suggestion in her mind.
'I will make the mother and daughter my bitch!' A determined expression appeared on his face, he had faced much torture and difficulties in his life because of both of them and now it was all gonna come to an end and now it was the time for his revenge.
Soon enough Sophia finished the tea and looked at Roxy with a warm smile on her face. "Thanks for the tea Mother, it was great." She said.
Although the tea tasted and smelled bad she still finished it in a matter of minutes, she didn't wanna disrespect her mother by not drinking it, after all it had been years since she has had something made of her mother's hand.
However unknown to her, it wasn't made by Roxy but by David and he has laced it with brain-corroding powder that would soon turn her unconscious.
Sophia could never imagine that Roxy would collude with David and would make her life hard.
She knew that Roxy hated David to her bones and even planned to kill him once she got into the Divine Sea Academy.
Roxy looked back at David and nodded, she had successfully done her mission and was hoping that from now on David would show some leniency to her and would not fuck her so brutally.
She was hoping that David would leave Sophia alone and would not order her something that would harm her daughter.
However just as her gaze landed on his face she furrowed her brows.
She could see an evil smile on his face, he was looking at her like she was the biggest fool in history.
Her heart suddenly skipped a beat. 'Why is he looking at me like that?' She gulped her saliva, she had done everything he had told her so why was he looking at her like this?
She was confused by it and as time passed her heartbeat started beating louder and louder.
She could even feel her hands and legs turning cold.
"Why are you making that expression?" She asked as she took a step back, however, no reply came from David, he just laughed out loudly as if he were a demon ascended from hell.
A shiver ran down Roxy's body and she quickly turned around to look at Sophia and just as she did so her eyes widened in terror and shock.
There, in front of her, Sophia was lying on the sofa with her eyes closed, she was unconscious.
"Sit down on the sofa and don't open your mouth till I say so," David said suddenly as he moved forward, his devilish smile still on his face.
There was an excited expression on his face.
'Finally, the time has come.' He had waited for this moment, patiently, and finally, Sophia was lying in front of him unconscious.
The brain-corroding powder has shown its effect, it has quickly turned her unconscious and if the information was correct then currently Sophia's mental fortitude was zero and she was completely vulnerable.
And since he has given the brain-corroding powder with Addictive tea, he can now plant suggestions in her mind and it won't take time to take effect because of the powers of the brain-corroding Powder.
Now it would be a piece of cake for him to control Sophia.
"Time to become my bitch!" He chucked and picked up her unconscious body in his hand, and then his gaze landed on Roxy, she was sitting on the sofa with her mouth sealed shut, she was looking at David with hatred and tears flowing out of her eyes.
David has fooled her and used her to do something wrong with Sophia. She wanted to move however because of his orders her body didn't let her move neither she could open her mouth and beg.
