Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Supermarket

Thinking of other four Territories,

Jack hadn't heard of any human traveling from one territory to another in those seven years. Those who tried probably died on the way, facing unimaginable nightmares between each territory. Thinking of the horror that lay in those forbidden areas, Jack shuddered.

"Soon, those rulers will also fall, and evolvers will rule over other humans. But for only seven years. What a sad reality," Jack sighed, looking at the hundred or so Nightwalkers running toward him.

Jack raised both arms, silencer guns in hand.

Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!

He started shooting, slashing a few with his sword. Now, with his strength equal to twenty, handling these 1st level Nightwalkers was easy. After killing all hundred or so Nightwalkers, he began absorbing their powers.

A few minutes later, shriveled corpses were all that remained. Jack's body vibrated; his cells cheered as genes optimized. Bad genes, necrotic blood, and cells with deep impurities discharged from his body pores, forming thin black blood scabs.

Opening his eyes, Jack used a water ball to wash his whole body, causing blood scabs to fall to the ground. He put on a new suit, sighed in relief, and checked his strength. His body felt light, as if shackles had been removed.

"It seems a Nightwalker is providing me 0.1 attribute, only 10%. That giant rat was 6 points," Jack thought. Then he realized, "It's because of even distribution. All my attributes are increasing evenly with no discrepancies."

"Well, it's fine. Anyway, there are billions of Nightwalkers and trillions of beasts in the world," Jack shrugged it off.

Looking at the direction of the supermarket, one of the largest in the capital and also the most crowded place, Jack recalled his future memories. After being ousted from his Castle, he somehow reached the supermarket, where there were survivors. Due to his kindness, he synthesized weapons for the survivors using hardware tools like hammers and nails. However, to his surprise, they broke his foot fingers with a hammer, trapping him in the supermarket. After half a month of being a production machine, security from the central sanctuary rescued everyone and seized everything.

From that point on, he was known as a Smith. The location changed, but nothing else did. Every day was spent in synthesis for the sanctuary. After the ruler was killed, he started preparing weapons for the evolvers, spending seven years without taking a step out of the central sanctuary.

Jack shook his head, driving toward the supermarket building, colliding with and crushing Nightwalkers along the way.

He stopped in front of a less crowded area, observing the scattered Nightwalkers, some running behind and surrounding his vehicle. Fortunately, his A1 didn't emit any noise.

Steering the car toward the underground parking lot, Jack stopped, and an ice cone spread around, freezing the heads of Nightwalkers around and behind the vehicles.

After emerging from the A1, Jack stored his RV away, released the iron rod from storage, and struck every frozen head. After a while of killing the Nightwalkers, he looked at the 20 or so corpses around.

"I can't kill too many Nightwalkers in one place. They have a very high hearing and smell sense. After smelling the blood of fellow Nightwalkers, they follow the smell like locusts. That's why zombies in those movies are nowhere near Nightwalkers," Jack remarked.

After absorbing all their powers, leaving shriveled corpses, Jack passed beside the lift, shaking his head. He walked toward the stairs, considering it foolish to use the lift in the end. Anytime a blackout could happen, leaving someone stuck in the lift.

Climbing through the stairs, Jack appeared in front of the closed stair door, his mouth curved.

"Metal Control!"

He deformed the lock inside, opened the gate slowly, and started observing the first floor. Many Nightwalkers were halted like statues on the first floor.

Jack closed the door, deformed the lock again, released two swords, and began slashing heads. After dodging and using fireball and ice cone, again and again, he reached the verge of exhaustion. Looking at many Nightwalkers still running and falling toward him, Jack sighed. He put his foot on one Nightwalker's body, started absorbing while killing, slowly creating a balance. After a few hours, with heavy breathing, he looked at more than 400 shriveled corpses, like a hill, and raised his hand.

"Fire and Wind! Fire Tornado!"

A round fire tornado appeared and engulfed the corpses, turning them into ashes and leaving flying dark ashes like withered leaves.

"I have to create my own moves that can instantly kill in a wide range, or no amount of stamina and energy is enough for those locust-like Nightwalkers in the world," Jack pondered.

Looking at the brand shops of cosmetics, jewelry, perfumes, and other items, Jack smiled.

"It seems I haven't brought these items," he said, examining the stairs toward the second floor, which were blocked.

"It looks like they had to sacrifice someone to bring all those 400-plus Nightwalkers to the first floor and block them," Jack muttered.

After taking a deep breath and adjusting his breathing, he clenched his fist.

"My strength is enough to crush 1st level Nightwalkers like ants, but if the quantity is very large, even I will be helpless. I have to do something about it, fight with ranged weapons like guns, rifles, snipers, but noise, bullets, and ammo are issues," Jack thought.

Although he had ammo and silencers, silencers didn't work after firing a few hundred shots, and his ammo was limited to 100,000. Even that much was acquired using his contacts.

"I have to loot an arsenal or find a way to create my own ammo using my Element Control ability," Jack concluded, shaking his head. He walked in the direction of those brand shops, emptying them one by one. After an hour, looking at gold and jewelry inside the final shop locker, he put everything away, leaving the first floor's brand shops empty.

"Well, I hope my wife likes them. Also, it's almost lunchtime. I should leave," Jack then locked the shop door from the inside, locked the locker room, walked inside the locker, and closed it.

Looking at the safe locker walls from inside, he nodded with a wicked smile.

"They must have seen the video footage by now. Let them come."
