Chapter 25: Something is wrong
Garrett roam through the night in search of Unique, he didn't know where she was he couldn't connect the dots, she was missing it rang through his head.
He didn't have the chance to freshen up nor to feed himself, all he knew was Unique wasn't home when he returned.
"My lord please you need to take your rest now you aren't in a good condition to search for her" Fernandez said to him.
Garrett had his head bowed on the couch he was exhausted beyond measure, for about a week now he has been starving himself of nutrition, blood was important to vampire but he hadn't have a drop of it.
"Will starving your self find your precious Unique, Nalla tsk and walk around Garrett who was still seated looking like a crazy man.
"Instead of going in circles why not think straight and try rewinding your memory it seems lost" Nalla told him.
Garrett paid less attention to her but Fernandez paid knee hears knowing Nalla was sometimes half crazed but she was always right.
"Am sure she was uprooted by you from somewhere, where could she possibly go?" Nalla said, Fernandez eyes wide. Understanding where Nalla was going.
"Of course my lord didn't Lady Unique have a close relatives there's a possibility she was taken by her family right " Fernandez said hoping to Garrett who finally raise his head.
"Right her family house" he said with a glime in his eyes he dematerialize from his home.
Mr Arnold walk into the care room where Unique was resting up, Sophie was fast asleep beside her.
Mr Arnold adjusted her bed spread, after Sophie had contacted him saying Unique was hospitalized he rushed down quickly to tend to the matter, he couldn't quite get the story straight, Sophie had told him Unique slip down the stairs which caused such massive injury.
"Unique dear please wake up, I can't loose you the way I loose your parents" her uncle whispered.
He walked out the room after a while of spending time with her.
Outside the gate, Garrett bang on the door but there was no reply from within, he banged and banged. If it was up to him he would have made his way in, but he couldn't materialize in a place he wasn't sure what was in, his vision wouldn't be so clear.
The gate was shrug open by an annoyed Mrs Merrily, she scanned Garrett up and down not recognizing him.
"And who are you, why are you banging on the gate so much it late already!!" Mrs Merrily snapped, Garrett didn't like her tone but he himself back because he needed to know where Unique was.
"Where's Unique?" Mrs Merrily look at him confused not sure why he asked.
"What nonsense now, why would you seek that stupid child, how would I know where she is," Mrs Merrily replied.
"Call her stupid one more time and I will make sure your head goes missing from your neck" Garrett warned, Mrs Merrily swallowed and adjusted her self.
"Whatever I don't know where she is, that.... I mean Unique is not here" she replied.
Garrett said nothing for a while he suddenly turned and left abruptly.
"What was that such crazy man let loose on the street he should be taken to the mental asylum, oohh he's so scary," Mrs Smith closed the gate behind her.
The following week Garrett work was slow than ever, he came home to an empty house which was devoid of his bright summer, the bed was empty the room was cold.
He could still feel the thread between them which kept him sane but he couldn't find her.
Garrett walk down the dungeon and opened the gate which led him in, the thick high bars were barely seen, a single torch rest against the wall which lite up the room.
Behind the bars was Mrs Smith who sat on the cold floor with her leg drawn together, she raised her head to look at her son.
"Gar Garrett, son oh thank goodness are you here to take me back out, you must have found her right, she must be in the house already, come here son open it" Mrs Smith said, Garrett eyes were all drawn together, he walk around the bar towards Caspian who growl in greeting to it master.
"I told you right mother? Not to mess with me" Garrett told Mrs Smith while Patting Caspian I made sure Unique didn't get in your way, why must you disturb the water, if you didn't open the floodgates then Malta wouldn't have misbehave, she was following your footsteps."
Mrs Smith shook her head." I am telling you Garrett I....I .....Malta did nothing wrong, she was only being immature" his mom defended.
Garrett throw his head back in laughter, he had enough for a month Unique was no where to be found, partly he blamed himself for not being around, it made him angry how involved his mother was.
"Malta won't run away for long I will find her and make sure she pleads for mercy, she won't escape this" Garrett told his mother.
He sat up his heels and turn to leave.
"Son son... GARRETT DON'T LEAVE ME HERE PLEASE " his mother screams echo in the dungeon.
Unique hand twitch from where she lay, she moved them to the Side and her lid slowly opened up, she stare at nothing trying to focus and clear her vision, she blink once and twice.
"Ahh", Unique wince at the pain on her head, she turned her head slowly to look around the room, the door opened and Sophie walk in.
"Miss Unique????" She called excited.
"Hmmm," she mumble pulling off the oxygen mask, she finally was able to breathe in .
"Sophie, did I fall sick again, but why does my head hurts, it hurts so badly?" Unique asked raising her hand to grab them.
"Miss Unique first drink this," Sophie handed Unique a cup of warm water which she heated up earlier to keep Unique hands warm.
Unique gulp the content in the cup before pulling away.
"What happened to me, did I injured my self while i fainted?"
"It understandable if you don't remember what happened but lady Malta is so evil how could she do that to you."
"Why are you using such old phrases Sophie and who's Malta?" Unique asked confused. Sophie stare at her unsure.
"Um..... You do know who lord Garrett is... right?" Sophie asked gentle not wanting to trigger Unique.
"Lord Garrett, is it a new movie you watched, how could you watch it without me" Unique scolded Sophie whose mouth dropped at Unique answer.
Something is wrong, something is very wrong.
"Um Miss Unique excuse me but I need to get the doctor here real quick, since you just woke up to avoid a lot of things from going wrong we need to know what might be wrong" Sophie told her getting up the bed while approaching the door looking lost.
