Chapter 5: Confused Ellie
Ethan noticed the confusion on the girl's face, it was surprising that she was a softie before acting that tough. He knows pointing at them was not good of him and he was ready to beg her pardon.
"That's Marvella and Elline but they're mostly called Marvie and Ellie. The fair one is Ellie and the other one is Marvie. Best friends", Zack answered while looking curiously at Ethan, "why are you still staring? Don't tell me you are interested in them. Marvie is already taken and Ellie? Let's not talk about her". "I like her", Ethan blurted out. "What? Who?", Robert asked while choked on water. He was peacefully drinking water whiles minding his business but hearing his friend's outburst he can't keep his cool again. "Ellie, isn't she beauti_". "Yeah she is but I'm not letting you join the queue. There's seven rich men lined up asking to marry her. It's a surprise she's not being kidnapped", Robert cut Ethan short, giving his friend all the possible reasons why he should stay away from her but it's all in vain. Ethan is someone whose attention is never deviated. His friends stare at him in disbelief. They really don't understand him, it's like he's been enchanted and Ethan himself don't understand why. There's something about her that makes him feel lost and peaceful at the same time. She kind of look familiar but Ethan swear today is his first time seeing her.

Ellie looked away from the stupid handsome boy grinning at her. It was obvious her glare didn't have any effect on him. After Marvie cut the call, Ellie asked her who he is. "That's Ethan, he just came back from abroad. He's looking at you," Marvie said as she looked from Ellie to Ethan. She noticed the glare Ethan was receiving and his unfazed smile that makes Ellie flustered. She laugh to herself at their funny act, it was a good thing to watch from the side and not butt in.
After what feels like forever, Ellie looked away angrily. It's obvious she's been defeated. Packing her things up, she muttered under her breathe what a killjoy he is. Marvie heard it but decided not to give any comment. Marvie followed suite packing up her things too.

Ethan looked as the girls packed their things and left. He's disappointed. But since it was his doing, he's ready to make it up to her. It was just an attempt to calm her but instead it upsets her.
"Ethan, are you in? We are having a swimming competition", Robert asked jolting Ethan from his thoughts. "Yeah, I'm in"
The boys swim for a while before leaving the beach to their various hones. It sure was the best way to relax; to release stress.
