Chapter 66: chapter 66:Dealing with the Youkai

Upon contact with one another, the flames stopped at the spear's tip, Daniel sighed in relief. "What were you doing with my Daughter, Magician!?" A tall blonde woman wearing a Shine Maiden's Miko outfit exclaimed out to Daniel.
Daniel couldn't help but notice the woman's extremely large chest which was left slightly exposed. 'Those things cannot be natural! They're bigger than my head!' Daniel thought to himself with wide eyes. Barely able to take his eyes away from the woman's chest, Daniel finally noticed the nine blonde tails and two ears within the gold crown on the top of her head.
"Mother!" Kunou stated out as she and Sera rushed to the woman's side.
"Please don't attack Dan!" Sera exclaimed out as she tried to protect Daniel.
"Dan?" The woman asked out loud in confusion before her eyes went wide in shock. "As in your boyfriend Dan? Right?"
Sera silently nodded as the woman turned to face Daniel. "Hello." Daniel weakly waved at the woman. "It's nice to meet you."
(Thursday 24th May - Late Afternoon)
After everything had been explained further, Yasaka blushed from embarrassment as they sat in the Shine's office, which was Yasaka's personal office. "Once more I'd like to apologise for my earlier actions." Yasaka, the Leader of the Youkai Faction humbly stated out as he lightly bowed to Daniel.
"As I said earlier it's fine, I get it." Daniel attempted to calm down Yasaka but his words seemed to be having little effect. "I probably would've done the same if I was in your shoes."
Yasaka softly smile along with Sera and Kunou as she softly sighed. "If you insist. Thank you both for looking after and bringing back my Daughter."
"No problem at all. Sera and Kunou enjoyed watching a few shows with each other last night." Daniel replied with a smile as Yasaka relaxed further.
"Thank you once more." Yasaka stated before she turned to face her daughter.
"Now can you tell me why you were so far away from Kyoto young lady?" The tone that Yasaka used was the same one all mothers used when scolding their child.
"I'm sorry. It's just I remember the stories Sera-nee told me of Dan... So I thought he could help with finding the missing children." Kunou softly replied as she looked down in embarrassment added with a small amount of shame.
"And did you formally present yourself to them first?" Yasaka asked with a raised.
"No I was captured and brought to his home." Kunou's statement caused Daniel to begin heavily sweating. "By a priest."
"I see." Yasaka's soft tone caused both Sera and Daniel to look at one another. "Thank you for offering to assist with our current issue Daniel Cole."
"Well there was also another reason for helping out." Daniel stated as he rubbed the back of his head. "My brother informed me that the a few children have also been kidnapped from an Orphanage run by the Church here in Kyoto. And I offered to help him out since I believe the two might be connected."
"Is this brother of yours also the same priest who took Kunou to your home?" Yasaka asked with a raised eyebrow. "If so, I do not think It was very wise of you to bring up this other reason."
"I'm sorry for my idiot brother's actions." Daniel stated as bowed as low as he possibly could. "But I brought this up because I didn't wish to lie to you."
"He also feels like he should make up for his brother's blunder." Sera added as she bowed down as well.
'Blunder? More like major fuck up.' Daniel thought to himself but remained silent.
"I too am sorry as I was nearby and didn't notice Kunou's presence." Sera's stated caused Yasaka to smile in response.
"It's fine. It's over with for now." Yasaka sigh in her reply as she stood up. "If you'll follow me, I'll show you what we have discovered so far."
Daniel and Sera both nodded while Yasaka and Kunou lead them. Leading them into a records room, Yasksa laid down a map and four files. "We've had four reported children missing so far and we've mapped where they have been taken on this map of the City.
Daniel looked at the files and read into each one. The first was of a boy who was 5 years old. He was an Onikuma or a Bear Youkai. The Second was a 7 year old girl who was an Ougama, also known as an Toad Youkai. The last two were neighbour both boys aged 4, an Amemasu or Fish Youkai, and a Kappa or a Turtle Youkai.
Daniel at first glance noticed a pattern with these missing children. "There's gonna be a fifth child taken soon. And it's going to be a Bird Youkai, but I don't know which one."
"You've seen it too then." Yasaka stated before she began drawing on the map of Kyoto.
"How can you tell?" Sera asked.
Daniel had a serious look on his face as he kept looking at each photo of the missing children. "The children that have been taken are all Vertebrate Youkai. The first was a Mammal, the second an Amphibian, the third is ray-finned fish according to the type of Fish Youkai he is, and the fourth is a Turtle Youkai which is a Reptile. The only one missing is a Bird."
"Then why would they also be kidnapping normal human children?" Sera asked in confusion.
"No idea... Hopefully Killi found something out that might be able to help us." Daniel replied as Yasaka showed the group her altered map.
"I've circled the areas of Kyoto where their are families of Bird like Youkai with children under the age of 10 years old." Yasaka stated before she continue'd. "We noticed the same trend after the last kidnappings but it still just as difficult for us to try and prevent it from happening again."
"I've also personally placed guards within these areas. They are Dog Youkais with the best sense of smell their kind have." There was a determined look on Yasaka's face.
