Chapter 17: Jason

The announcement hung heavy in the air, momentarily silencing the swirling shadows that surrounded them. The Dark Master turned to face him, a hint of curiosity replacing the initial fury in its eyes.

"Explain" he commanded, its voice a low growl.

The informant's words sent a tremor through the chamber. "Modak" he echoed slowly, savoring the implications. "One of the holy rebels who dared to defy our rule. I have found his descendant."

A ripple of excitement coursed through the assembled shadows upon hearing the informant's reveal. The name "Modak" resonated within them, a name whispered in legends and forbidden texts. The Modak, a holy rebel who dared to defy the darkness, now stood awakened, potentially a powerful ally in their fight.

A dark chuckle escaped his lips, the sound echoing through the cavernous hall like the scraping of claws on stone. "This is indeed a most interesting development" he said, his eyes gleaming with a predatory glint. "A descendant of those who opposed us, awakened to a power he barely understands."

It turned its gaze back to the informant, its voice low and menacing. "What is his name?" It demanded.

The informant bowed low, his voice filled with a mixture of fear and reverence. "Jason" he replied.

The name hung heavy in the air, carrying the weight of a legacy forgotten yet potent. The Dark Master pondered it for a moment, a calculating glint in his eyes.

It turned away from the informant, his gaze falling upon the swirling vortex of darkness at the heart of the chamber. "Prepare him" it commanded, his voice echoing with power. "Make him our weapon, our champion."

The informant bowed his head in submission. He knew the stakes were high. Failure was not an option. He had to ensure the awakening of the student's power, to turn him into a pawn in their game, a weapon against the forces of light.

He backed away slowly, his heart pounding in his chest. He had done his part. Now, it was up to the dark entity to unleash its wrath upon the world.
