C76: Tea Time with the Magic Teacher, Beasts fear
Overall Word count = 1856 on 5/3/2024.
(Reminder that next chapter I will be revealing the effects of both development skills for yall. I did not forget even though it's been a week.)
Axel turns around at the sudden words directed to him and the shadow overcasting him in the warehouse to find an 11 foot tall woman with long purple hair that easily reaches her long slim but yellow/black scaled legs (black in front, yellow on back). Her waist is adorned with a simple skirt made out of other monsters' scales and hides. Same for her bra which does little to hide the sizable proportions on her chest. Her eyes are red and serpentine while her arms show similar yellow scales that only run the duration of her forearms and stop at the elbow. (pic here)
"Well, do you have anything to say for yourself, mortal?" The giantess asks intimidatingly.
Axel tilts his head to the side in a bit of confusion before asking, "How many saints have purple hair. Seems to be quite the common color amongst you all." The tall snakely woman pauses then her body shakes before she throws her head back in incredulous laughter that resounds through the warehouse. Her abundant chest also bounces with her every laugh giving quite the display for Axel but his will has both been gradually tempered by Radahn as well as by his new ring. He remains stoic as he knows he would begin to struggle to handle anymore partners unless his techniques in bed improved rapidly. But that isn't here nor now.
It's only after a few moments that her laughter dies down, she has a few tears in her eyes caused by a bit of shortness of breath from the laughing."mmmm, that was quite enjoyable. Certainly not a question I was expecting at all. Raikou has taught you manners well enough. Come join me for tea. " She states and walks off to one part of the curtained area that houses larger than normal furniture. Axel jumps up onto one of them as the seat itself is head height with him. There are a few pieces that are smaller but 2 of the chairs are chained up while the third just seems too cute for Axel to sit on.
After having Axel be seated. She brings out a tray that when the lid is taken off showcases a gathering of different colored cookies and some cupcakes. The coffee table was moved slightly closer to him, though it wasn't needed as he had already begun elongating his hand to grab a cookie. They are normal sized…at least to Axel, but to her they would be bite-sized at best.
"Ha." "oh, no no no no" She goes into the kitchen to brew some tea. An intricate magic sigil is rapidly crafted. Flames that are hotter than Axel expected were summoned and the teapot is soon covered in flames as she scrambles to fix her mistake. The teapot itself remains standing but all the water inside has evaporated along with the tea leaves.
Axel begins to analyze the flames a bit, he also moves to open the sizable windows near the kitchen. He finds that the flames start out hot but without the owner's attention they gradually weaken until they are comparable to normal flames if not at least still a hellfire. Once they reach a suitable level, He manifests his own flames and encircles the rampaging hellfire. With his current high magic and regenerative energy from his ring, he can maintain to isolate these flames before they are properly put into the stove bin with all the kiln. He then takes a few sticks of wood to join in there and keep the fire going while he retracts his own.
"There, that should get your stove warmed up so you can properly brew the tea." He says and walks back to the 'living room'. Meanwhile the tall snake lady is standing up straight with black lines marring her face as she faces an internal battle over how she had never figured out that there was a compartment there before. She thrashes her head around while standing in the same place. Her hair is sent flying about and almost knocks the teapot off but she catches it in time.
"Sigh"
She sighs and then cleans up the burn marks on it before refilling the water and leaves then putting it on the nice warm stove. The tea is soon ready and she brings it over along with a few different sized cups. She sets them in their positions before taking her own and giving Axel his. He gives a glance to the extra cups but doesnt comment, she must have her own reasons.
"My lady, may I know your name?"
"Before that, I must inform you that the last known rex by the guild is the Balor on the 49th floor. There is also Cadmus on the 51st floor but it's an unofficial rex. But on the 61st floor there is the child of Nidhogg, an infernal beast from ancient times that was slayed by the 6 spirits when it was on the surface. Yet even further, on the 75th floor is a special snake creature with powerful petrification powers known as the Gorgon. That is what I am and am known as. That monster's Blood flows through my body."
She takes a sip of her tea from the larger cup, granted she only filled a little bit since the teapot itself is not supersized. "You may refer to me as Gorgon if you must." Suddenly the doors slam open.
"Medusa, I, have returned home" Gorgon shivers upon hearing an angelic sounding voice coming from the entrance. Axel looks over to the door and sees two young charming ladies in black-white goth lolita dresses. They look similar to each as if twins and they sport purple hair but theirs are similar to Axel's in the comparison of the nebula style as their purple hair has streaks of starlight or holiness on it that didn't detract from the violet color. Their appearances can be considered 'perfect' by human standards. One seemingly bears pink colored eyes while the other bears purple. Both seem to be like fairies that just appeared before them but Gorgon's reaction is anything but holy or exciting.
Though Axel does have to question, 'Why did they address themselves as 'I'? Is it because they are twins thus are willing to be referred to as one or is there a deeper situation?' He ponders as the door closes behind the goths lolis and they make their way to their seats. The chains on them fall apart to the ground while the Gorgon pours tea for them.
The duo pick up their cups and sniff them in unison. "Freshly brewed. Did you do this Medusa?" Stheno the eldest questions their youngest. 'Medusa' nods but doesnt look them in the eyes.
"Medusa, look at 'me' when we talk to you. Don't look away. Medusa. Answer us Properly"
An audible slurping noise is heard coming from Axel as he drinks the tea. He felt the need to cut the tension but an awkward silence ensues as the two eldests gaze at Axel with quite a bit of hostility.
"Medusa, why is a monkey in our home?" Euryale questions.
"My, how appropriate manners, befitting a simple human" Stheno follows up. Axel shows no reaction to their words but Gorgon seems to frown a bit but can only drop her head in shame before she trembles and raises her head to look at her sisters.
"He is my new student. I shall be teaching him about the dungeon monsters and destructive magic. I had made my application for this role months ago. Even you two know who he is since the city can't stop talking about him" Gorgon states but then turns a bit meek again as both her sisters eyes widen as they turn to their youngest with smiles on their face.
"Oh cutest Stheno. Have you ever seen our youngest have such an attitude with us before?"
"Oh beautiful Euryale. I have not, at least not since we broke out of the crazed house and had to subdue Medusa back then after she had gone mad."
Gorgon's face turns red in shame over the ancient memory. The duo then turn to look at Axel, observing his body. They naturally notice the parts of his chain like seals sticking out from his neck and sleeves.The two begin to speak one after the other just as the Dis sisters did.
"Axel Gram" "the Titan" "Level 4" "Ahem, Level 5" Axel corrects them and they narrow their eyes again before they continue.
"Level 5" "Record breaker" "Slayer of the Goliath" " Amphisbaena" "and Antares"[1]
"A brute" "A malevolent force" "A destroyer" "A false Saint" "and a sex fiend" "and a future father" He adds on again.
"I have room to change but if this is how you two have been acting for your whole lives then maybe it's you who needs to change. Let Me copy your speech real quick. Gorgon seems to begin to sweat a bit and shakes her head to try to deter him but he doesnt notice this and keeps his gaze on the two of them.
"I don't know your names" "or how strong you are"
"I never heard of you before" "even amongst the other Saints"
"Your Pompous" "Rude" "You bully your own sister" "Practically no different than Koyanskaya"
His every line seems to irk the sisters further and further but when he mentions someone like Koyanskaya who is a calamity, their anger reaches a breaking point.
"You besmirch our divine selves and call us vain?" "Kneel"
they say in unison utilizing their Alluring Euphony[2] upon Axel, His body shakes and he begins to slide off the chair when his gluttony kicks in and covers his body. Devouring their charm only to enhance his own looks. Since their individual charm magic is borderline comparable to Freya using her arcanum. Their combined might is naturally higher which means that Axel's appearance naturally appears even better. All three notice this change as Axel just stands up straight and does not kneel. His height naturally surpassed the duo as he looked down at them.
The mana of the duo seems to flare as they both smirk before saying, "Begone". Axel widens his eyes as a strange force seems to push him back far but with a simple exertion of strength he breaks free before he collides into the kitchen. He finishes his cup of tea and sets the glass aside before walking back towards them.

[1] If it's not made obvious, the immortals/Saints were warned about the existence of Antares in case the adventurers were on the verge of dying to help save them.
[2] Description says something about only affecting females but I feel in the Danmachi world it would work closer to charm type magic and naturally affect both male and female.
