Chapter 2: Chapter Two The Deceiver Plans
To say that Commander Thaddeus Drax was shocked upon hearing what i said is a underestimation.
The highest-ranking Imperial officer on the Devastator was at this point completely paralyzed and unable to say anything, not even a single word.
'Oh i think i broke him' the inquisitor thought to himself but he had no doubts his friend was currently doing everything he can to assimilate the information he had just heard.
On the other hand, the Commander Thaddeus Drax tried to maintain any resemblance of self control while looking like a goldfish while trying to regain his discipline at the same time, which ultimately turned out not to be effective at all.(Who would've thought)
Perhaps i shall witness, the famous imperial discipline and stoicism fails and panic takes its place.
"THE EMPEROR…!" Commander half screamsd and the other half groaned like he was in pain. It was actually a fairly squeaky mix of both, but was perfectly understandable under the circumstances.
"...The Emperor is no longer with us My Lord?"
'Wow he composed himself quickly (Thaddeus fall's into a chair) oh i take that back'
But even now, he did not dare to voice the simple fact that The Emperor is dead. The Inquisitor thought mockingly, but after a short while he mentally chided himself on mocking his friend even though it's hilarious.
After all, it is something completely understandable. In both Canon and Legends, Palpatine bult a cult of personality and built the Empire around himself and expanded, it's natural that the death of the Emperor would not even pass the most loyal and fanatical to the Emperor and his Imperial ideals. Something along those lines would not ever penetrate the mind of many as in Legends due to the lack of any successor in the Empire, would be torn between warlords or fall into the hands of loyalists. Like Zinzj,Thrawn,Giddon and many other's.
Meanwhile in the Canon, the situation was very similar to the Legends timeline, but nonetheless the forces 'loyal' to the Empire on Coruscant were much better organized and were much better at dealing with the New Republic.
After all, on top of all this, there is also the Emperor's contingency plan Operation Cinder, which is to destroy everything according to the Palpatine is that if he does not rule, no one will.
Regardless of this as my existence has altered the timeline not by much but most loyalists will look too me, while any traitors will splinter off to build their own Empire's which is good for me but at this point i should take over the New Territories as f*ck Core I'm not touching that with a ten-foot stick moving then the Northern Dependencies then quickly picking up Bilbringi Shipyards as it is the most defensible way and Bilbringi is a powerhouse of Shipyards i would prefer Kuat but it's not worth it at the moment I'm not sure what timeline or if it's a mix I've got to prepare for the Vong and I've got to find Thrawn but that's for later and after doing that gotta quickly get the Trans-Hydian territories lot's of the old Sith worlds and with Darth Nox's memories a lot of untapped sith relics and hidden caches of resources and technology and Mandalore with that comes a warrior culture and beskar i will have to break them but thst won't take long.
And after doing all thst conquering i shall have a easily defensible territory to work with and then i can watch the unfolding chaos.
As soon as the inquisitor finished his thoughts, he was snapped out almost immediately by a grunt from the Commander. This man has undoubtedly managed to overcome all emotions, and the iron discipline typical of imperial officers has returned. In addition, Thaddeus looks to the inquisitor and his tone serious.
"My Lord are you certain?" Commander Thaddeus Drax asked hoping i was mistaken then seeing my nod he then narrowed his eye's, his gaze steadfast. "What are your order's my Lord and may i ask how you cane to possess such knowledge and is it related to what happened on the bridge."
The inquisitor looked slightly shocked at the commander taking his word for it and quickly decided to speak and relay his plan's going forward.
"Are plan's ahead my friend is to speak with the Grand Moff down on the Bastion below and gain his allegiance then quickly push for subjugation of the New Territories first then the Northern Dependencies as it holds Bilbringi Shipyards and that is vital for are survival then we are too push for thr Trans-Hydian territories and either conquer them or gain the allegiance of the local Moffs and Grand Moffs then we are to fortify the two hyperspace lines and build up are forces for the issuing Galactic Civil war and to how i gained this knowledge, I sensed the death of our Emperor in Force. The incident caused a huge disruption that almost made me pass out a few minutes ago and has alerted all other force sensitives of his demise."
The Commander seemed to follow along and agree with everything i said but is a bit confused when the force was mentioned. "Forgive me, My lord but all this Force sounds at least bizarre to me i do not doubt your power and knowledge."
It is hardly surprising that the officers of the Empire or beyond view the force as merely superstitious and a fairly tale for children.
Ultimately it is hard to believe that twenty years ago the force was well known and feared but it is to be expected when Order sixty-six was implemented the Jedi Order where wiped out and following that all Force sensitive childern or adult's were killed or taken to join the inquisitorius, though i must applaud Palpatine he basically wiped all knowledge of the force from the galaxy regardless i have to show my power off a little bit.
The Inquisitor briefly considered showing him how wrong he was. So he stretched his hand and fingers forward to strengthen the connection with to the force which is not really required but any kid would of loved to have done this, then he lifted the commander up almost to the ceiling twirling him around like a pen, much to his surprise. It may not be the best way to do show off and get Thaddeus to understand that the force is real.
"My lord please put me down" The commander begged slightly and i sighed and dropped him down gently on the chair "My lord what was this show of strength for"
Mainly so that I could show off and show something to you and try to use my power at the same time. That was the main reason for his actions, and he wasn't even in the least disappointed. Thanks to the memories of the former owner of this body and Darth Nox, the Inquisitor was able to successful, and with little trouble, surprisingly due to this being the first time he used the force properly not brute forcing it while he killed Palpatine. The feeling is amazing. Its as if he had a energy field surrounding himself and the Commander separating us is literally bowing against my will. It's hard to put the feeling into words, but it's greater than anything else I've experienced so far like i was connected to everything but i had the power to make it bend to my will.
Commander, this display of force is intended to show you that the force is real and not a mysterious power that only myself, Lord Vader and the inquisitorius have or had in Lord Vader's case." The Inquisitor explained, without changing the tone of his voice and the way he spoke. "But first, let me ask you a question. Tell me, Commander, what exactly is the Force for you? "
Thaddeus blinked several times in surprise, clearly not expecting such an answer. After all, the naval officer managed to return to a relative level of discipline and answer the question he had just asked. "The Force is at least in my opinion nothing more and no less than a set of telekinetic abilities like picking up objects or influencing the bodies of other people and to the best of my knowledge that's all, my Lord."
"Wrong my friend. " The Inquisitor replied shortly, utterly disappointed in the simplicity of an answer on the part of an officer who had not the faintest idea of the subject being raised. "The Force is not a skill set, but an energy field that surrounds everything that exists. This field surrounds everything and everyone and binds them together. Individuals who are Force-sensitive are given the ability to manipulate these energies, with their help to influence other beings or objects, or even the environment itself. Power can primarily be drawn and used, but by no means is it just a matter of killing or displacing, using only willpower and you can use science to explain the force with Midichlorians but that will take a lot of explanations but the easiest i can describe it is a symbiotic organism that allows those with a large amount of them to channel the force through the body."
Thaddeus looks more confused but he somewhat understands my explanation and nods. "My lord i believe i understand and may we continue discussing the current situation and on what to do." The inquisitor nods.
"We must acknowledge the current situation and adapt for the Empire will collapse without our intervention and we must weed out any traitors i do believe most of the inquisitorius will join me but the rest will splinter off and join over warlords and possibly try to make their own factions but they will fail but during these trying time's we must not fail my friend." The inquisitor speaks confidentiality and charismaticly using the force to subtly make the Commander fall under his sway.
The Commander looks at the inquisitor and takes a deep breath and faces the inquisitor with a serious expression. "My Lord as you are the legitimate heir to the Empire as Lord Vader and the Emperor are dead my loyalty lies with you and i pledge my allegiance to you and anyone who goes against you my Lord are traitors." Thaddeus gets on one knee and bows.
I smirk under my mask and I'm slightly proud of myself. "My friend rise we have many things to do and i require your counsel and expertise." Thaddeus blinks and rises and looks at the inquisitor and salutes and looks for permission to go and start the next phase of my plans, i nod and Thaddeus leaves.
I contemplate on what will happen next in the galaxy the politics on Coruscant and within the Empire there are various factions, parties that often compete with each other. Basically, it is extremely characteristic of all state organisations or power structures in general that exist in known history In the case of the Empire the only one who held all these interests together and stood above them was the Emperor. It is to him that the Empire was able to remain coherent for many years and ensure that there was no major civil war's i mean with Vader and myself i guess dealt with most rebellions and insurgencies. But now that the only person who held the Empire is gone, there is literally nothing left to stop all these factions and their members from trying to seize power and take the empty throne which they will never be able to fill.
I have no doubts that when the Emperor's death becomes public knowledge, all of those people will rush into a fierce struggle for power. I won't even mention the local governors and military commanders who will undoubtedly start creating their own mini empires, idiot's if they just concentrated on destroying the fledging New Republic but there all arrogant fool's.
And with the Emperor's death it is a new era where there will be a arm's race of everyone fighting each other for power and positions of power which mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.
The inquisitor meditates and go through all of these memories from both Heusman and Darth Nox and intergrate as much as he can within the next couple of hours.
