Chapter 28: The angry girlfriend

" No, I haven't heard anything from Jayden about the gala after all it ended late at night and Jayden was probably too exhausted to give me feedback aside from that no one has told me anything thing," Petra replied, that she was not in a good mood, she had a major argument with her director just because she came to the set a few minutes late. She was a beautiful lady with needs and had to take care of herself properly, so coming to set forty minutes later was not a big deal.

The director kept on snapping at her for every little mistake she made, and it affected her performance because they had to filmed a simple scene several times now.

" He was probably too busy cheating on you to call," her friend berated from the other side of the line. Petra had a knot in her brows when she heard what her friend said Jayden was too loyal to cheat on her, that she was sure off.

" I doubt that is possible, that not my Jay jay." Petra defended Jayden, she won't stand her friends ruining his image.

" You never know what men can do," her friend sneered. " Just come online, I have enough evidence." Her friend stated before cutting the call.

Petra went online on WhatsApp and saw multiple images of Jayden and another lady, with numerous screenshots of people's comments and the top trend about their appearance at the Gala.

Petra's head was immediately clouded with jealousy when she saw the comments and tweets about how beautiful the lady was and how good they looked together.

Petra had not bothered going on the X app this morning because she was not interested in any drama that was not about her and wanted to focus more on getting ready. One of her motives was to ensnare one of the major stars with her looks so that it would be a good advantage to her in the industry. So she spent so much time dolling up even with the fact she woke up late this morning.

Petra had forgotten the fact she was the one who suggested to Jayden about going with a substitute to the gala because she was not ready to sacrifice her career and the present movie set for just a gala. She had even taken up the job leaving Jayden in the blind because she knew he would disapprove of the idea of her going to another country for our 12-hour fight and a movie shoot, just after she spent months on a drama set.

After seeing the screenshots, Petra's bad mood plunge further. Her face had an ugly expression on it. She immediately logged in to her X app account and searched the trends her friend screenshotted to her to read more tweets and the more she scrolled, the uglier her face got. What made Petra more Jealous was the fact she knew that the Lady with Jayden had a prettier figure and height than her.

She could not accept the fact the lady was better than her, and her insecurities surged up her heart. Her friend kept up adding more Instigating words that made Petra mind to travel and started to think that Jayden was cheating on her with a better woman. She left Twitter because she was unable to stand the tweets anymore.

Petra: Do you have any idea who his date was?

She chatted with her friend, who gave her a heads-up about the situation.

Diana: No I was unable to get an invitation to the gala, but I asked someone who attended, the person affirmed the rumors were true as Jayden had affirmed her identity as his girlfriend, but they were unable to get her identity since the lady did not socialize with anyone.

Her friend Diane split the beans on her findings on Vanessa. Diana and Petra have been friends since college, so she was among the few who knew Petra was dating Jayden and had been jealous of her friend from day one because she couldn't get a partner like Jayden. She has always secretly rooted that Jayden and Petra broke up so that she can try her luck, Diana naively thought.

When she saw the tweets trend this morning she was more than happy to inform Petra who also acted proudly because she was dating someone as outstanding as Jayden. She wanted Petra to realize that Jayden could leave her any second from now and pluck away her peacock feathers.

Petra frowned further when she saw Diana's reply, Jayden confessed that his date was his girlfriend, 'how dare him' she berated Jayden in her mind?

Petra: that's interesting, can you please investigate her Identity for me since you are at Port Marino(teary eyes' emoji)? My hands are presently tied with my present movie shoot. You know potential Blockbusters like this are very stressful and time-draining (exhausted emoji)

Diana: of course, dear even without you asking I would have investigated her what are friends meant for (smile emoji)

Petra: thanks Diana love you (heart emoji)

Diana: it's nothing you know I have always had your back since college.

Petra: yeah, I remember. Okay, got to go now, still have to focus on the set.

Diana: Bye.

Petra acted nonchalant about the news when she chatted with Diana because she would rather not show she was affected by the news. After Petra switched off her phone she started snapping at her assistant complaining about her coffee which her assistant made for her to transfer her anger on her.

The assistant head was bowed and fist clenched. She had to control her emotions because if she said a word to Petra now it would only make things worse for her. Petra always used her as an outlet for her frustration. Her assistant had tried to resign but because of Petra's bad attitude, her assistants always resigned frequently, so Petra's agency had to come up with a tricky contract with made her assistants unable to resign before a year and her present assistant was tricked into signing the contract because she was unaware of Petra's attitude and personality.

She willingly took the job before not only for the pay but also because she idolized Petra before so she was excited to work for her Idol, but that was because she got to know the real Petra who was different from what was displayed online and on TV. Her hands clenched further while she was biting her lips to prevent her from talking as Petra insulted her. At least Petra hasn't physically abused her because they were in public and could only insult her in a low voice Loud enough just for both of them to hear because Petra wanted to maintain her image in front of others.

" Take this away, were you dumb to add cream To my coffee when I have to maintain my figure." Petra snapped at her assistant, who was acting timid in a low voice. Petra still had a lovely smile on her face and acted like she was having a casual conversation.

Her assistant didn't reply because Petra herself had requested cream. Petra was displeased by her assistant lack of reply. " Are you tongue-tied or just dumb to reply to me," she snorted.

" Take this away and get me a Diet Coke immediately, I need to cool my head down." She instructed her assistant, who swiftly took away the coffee to get away from Petra's presence to get the coke. She moved like she was being chased by a monster. Onlookers thought the assistant was a zealous worker, unknown to them, she was just getting away from Petra's anger in fright.

Petra wanted to call Jayden to ask him about the gala but decided against it. She would rather not do anything that would ruin her mood further and affect her performance, which was already bad today. She would call him after she was done for the day.

Furthermore, she had to try to focus more on this movie set since it was a big step in her career, her first Blockbuster, not the regular dramas she played in.

After she had spoken to Jayden and gotten Information on the lady, she would deal accordingly with the situation even though nothing was going on between Jayden and the lady. There was no way she would leave a potential threat to her relationship. She could not afford to lose Jayden's support, which was imperative to her career.

Petra had already fixed her expression to a beautiful smile, but her hands were clenched secretly while she sat waiting for her assistant to get the diet Coke for her. She knew how many schemes and the amount of effort she put in to be Jayden's girlfriend. It took a lot of planning, patience and effort. Now Jayden was in her paws, there was no way she was going to lose him.

By the time her assistant returned with her coke, Petra had already coordinated her emotions better, so she didn't torture her poor assistant further.
