Chapter 12: Chunin Exams
( Hidden leaf village)
As usual, the hidden leaf was bright and sunny like any other morning, but there was an unmistakable tension.
The time had come for the chunin exams and that meant the village now had shinobi from different villages moving around, here to participate in the upcoming chunin exams and seeing that the villages coming were villages that the leaf had fought wars against it was only proper that things were a little sense with villagers and shinobi alike.
( Team 10)
" Are you guys even paying attention?" Ino asked as the three stood in front of a door.
" We are, but we keep telling you Daiki sensei will be fine." Choji answers whole opening a bag of chips.
" Ino, can't you relax I've told you before the ninja from the hidden sand won't be able to hurt sensei." Shikamaru says.
" But spying on the Kazekage? Isn't the Kazekage on the same level as the Hokage so isn't he supposed to be super strong?" She questioned in a hushed tone.
" To put it simply yes, but All kages aren't made equal, from what I've gathered the Kazekage isn't as strong as the third Hokage so there is no way he could beat Daiki sensei."
" Right now all we need to do is pass the chunin exams." He says as he pushes open the door and walks in.
As team ten looks around the room, it's already filled with shinobi from the other villages participating in the chunin exams, and as they were about to find somewhere to sit a voice echoed in the room.
" Hey its Skikamaru, Ino and Choji!!"
Hearing the voice dead ten looked over and saw the rest of their graduating class coming over.
" It's team ten we haven't seen you guys since we graduated what have you guys been doing?" Kiba asked.
" Training." Choji answered and then stuffed a handful of chips into his mouth.
"That's good, you guys must have had it hard having that guy as your sensei." Kiba says.
" And what does that mean?" Ino asked staring at Kiba as if waiting for him to say the wrong thing.
This sudden change caught the attention of the other leaf genin as Kiba was surprised and intimidated as he took a step back.
" Alright, that's enough I'm sure Kiba didn't mean anything by it Ino." Shikamaru says placing his hand on Ino's shoulder.
" Kiba, next thing watch what you say about sensei." Shikamaru warned.
Team ten actions had completely killed the joyful reunion they were expecting, and things were getting awkward.
" Hey, you guys are this year's genin right? You mind stop making so much noise you'll draw attention to yourselves." A teen walked over dressed in blue wearing a hidden leaf headband.
" But I can't blame you all for being clueless, it reminds me of how I used to be." He says.
" You are?" Shikamaru asked.
" Kabuto at your service." He answers.
" So Kabuto is this your second year?" Sakura asked.
" The exams are held twice a year this is my seventh time."
" Wow, that's impressive." Naruto shouts.
" I have collected a lot of information in these four years, like these nin info cards, they are cards that have information burned into them using chakra."
" Like this."
He flips a card and suddenly a map and some figures appear on it as he shows it to everyone.
" This shows all the villages participating in the chunin exams and the number of genin participants per village."
" Do you have information on individuals?" Sasuke steps forward and asks interested for the first time since the genins got together.
" I do, anyone in particular?" Kabuto asks.
" Team ten, Rock Lee, Gaara of the hidden sand, and Daiki Sarutobi." Sasuke says.
" Those are some interesting names you called, it should be easy." Kabuto says
" Ah, Sasuke you even want info on your friends?" Naruto asks.
Looking at all of this was team ten, it seemed that were just looking on, but the three were communicating using small movements.
As the three had had a weird feeling about Kabuto.
"Show me."
" Alright first up is Rock Lee, he is a year older than you guys and has completed 20- D rank missions, 12- C rank and his sensei is Gai a Taijutsu master, other than than his Taijutsu has improved greatly this year and his teammates are Neji Hyuga and Ten Ten."
" As for Gaara, 8- C rank missions, 1- B rank other than that there isn't anything else other than he returned from all his missions without a single scratch."
" Completing a B-rank mission as a genin is very impressive, so shall I continue?" Kabuto asks.
" Yeah."
" Alright next is team ten, the new generation Ino- Shika- Cho, their sensei is Daiki Sarutobi, completed 6- C rank missions and 1-B rank, all three have made great progress since leaving the academy and being trained by their sensei."
" And lastly Daiki Sarutobi, the sensei of team ten, the greatest genius ever seen in the hidden leaf, it's impossible to know the amount of mission he's completed but it's widely known since becoming a jonin he's only done solo S- rank missions and has completed the most S- rank missions in the village, he is the son of the third Hokage, and on the blackmailed has a bounty of sixty million on his head."
" It isn't much, but a ninja of his strength is important to any village, information about him is hard to get."
" Anyways I'll give you guys a warning, everyone here is the top genin in their respective village so you best be careful and not only focus on one or two of them, I'm sure they would all kill you if given the Chance."
