Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Mooncalf

Cedric's Quidditch tryouts were excellent.

It only took him five minutes to catch the Golden Snitch and successfully became the new Seeker of the Hufflepuff house team.

After that, he had to undergo his first group training, so he had to be on the Quidditch pitch all afternoon.

Kyle only met him briefly during lunch.

"Fred and George don't know anyone from Slytherin, but they said they would help us think of a way."

Cedric stuffed a piece of steak in his mouth and said vaguely: "We are going to discuss it in the afternoon. Do you want to join us?"

"I..."

Before Kyle could speak, a strong voice came from the other end of the table.

"Hurry up, Cedric, we're going to start training."

"Okay, Captain!"

Cedric swallowed the steak with difficulty and drank a large glass of pumpkin juice. He turned to Kyle, "I'm going to train first. This year's Quidditch Cup will definitely belong to Hufflepuff."

After saying that, he quickly ran towards the Quidditch pitch.

"Tsk…"

Kyle curled his lips. He wasn't envious at all.

'What was so good about the house team? They had to train on weekends, and couldn't even eat properly. Unlike him, I have enough time to taste the tender and juicy steak.'

Kyle knocked on the table and ordered himself a glass of lemonade to relieve his tiredness.

In the afternoon, Kyle took the piece of parchment and walked out of the castle.

Cultivating Chomping Cabbage was more troublesome than he had imagined. This thing had very harsh requirements on the environment and climate. Only a few Herbology masters could transplant it outside of its place of origin.

But the Room of Requirement could perfectly solve this problem. Kyle only needed to deal with the fertilizer problem.

According to the description in "A Detailed Explanation of Asian Magical Plants", in its natural state, Chomping Cabbage needed fifty days to germinate, and it took about two to three years to grow. The growth cycle was ridiculously slow.

Kyle couldn't wait that long, he was going to speed up the process.

After leaving the castle, Kyle walked across the grass and came to a small wooden house at the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

The wooden house looked very old. The wood on the roof and walls had different colors. It must have been repaired many times. There was also a crossbow and a pair of rubber boots hanging in front of the door.

Kyle stepped forward and knocked on the door.

"Who is it... Oh Fang, step back, you will scare others."

Accompanied by a low barking sound, the wooden door opened slightly, revealing Hagrid's bearded face.

"Little wizard? What are you doing here?" Hagrid looked at Kyle and said with a straight face: "First-year students are not allowed to go to the Forbidden Forest. Quickly return to the castle."

With that, he was about to close the door.

"Hagrid, it's me." Kyle said quickly: "Remember, we met before."

Hm?

Hagrid looked at Kyle carefully, and the more he looked at him, the more familiar he seemed.

"I remembered." Hagrid suddenly clapped his hands and said, "You are that bad boy from Chopper's family. Because of you, Saipan doesn't even recognize his own name now."

"That's because it doesn't like that name, Hagrid." Kyle said seriously: "When you name the owls, you should ask them for their opinions."

"I...Fine, I can't argue with you." Hagrid looked a little nervous and asked a little hastily: "So what are you doing here?"

Kyle did not answer him directly, but looked around, "Can we talk in your hut?"

"No!" Hagrid became even more nervous, pressing his body against the door and saying: "...Well, I mean my hut is a bit messy, let's put it that way. Fang also doesn't like strangers, and I'm afraid it will scare you.

Oh, Fang is the hunting dog I raised and is taller than you."

"Is that so... Then forget it." Kyle showed a surprised expression and said calmly: "I came here to ask if there are Mooncalves in the Forbidden Forest."

As everyone knew, there were two top fertilizers in the magic world, which come from the excrement of dragons and mooncalves.

There were definitely no dragons in the Forbidden Forest, and he would have to wait until the next year. Therefore, he set his sights on the Mooncalves.

"What do you want to do!"

Hearing the word "Forbidden Forest", Hagrid couldn't care less about his nervousness and said seriously: "First-year students are absolutely not allowed to go to the Forbidden Forest. It is very dangerous there. Go back to the castle quickly, or I will go to Professor Sprout."

"Don't be so nervous, Hagrid." Kyle said, "I don't want to go to the Forbidden Forest, otherwise I wouldn't have come to find you."

"Really?"

"Of course." Kyle explained: "I just planted two little cuties and wanted to find some fertilizer for them."

"Is that so? No wonder you asked me about Mooncalves."

Hagrid carefully squeezed out of the room, then quickly turned around and closed the door.

Hagrid took Kyle to the pumpkin patch next to the wooden house, took out a tin bucket from the corner, and said, "You're welcome to take as much as you want."

The iron bucket was filled with silver balls the size of table tennis balls, which were the feces of Mooncalves. There were at least two to three hundred in the bucket.

But Kyle frowned.

No, the color was too dark. It must have been there for at least a month.

"Do you have any fresh ones?" Kyle asked.

"I'm not sure..." Hagrid hesitated for a moment, then thought about it and said, "But we can go and take a look. Come with me."

The two walked along the edge of the Forbidden Forest for a while, and then Hagrid asked Kyle to wait outside while he went to the Forbidden Forest alone.

Kyle agreed and silently memorized the route he had taken and the surroundings in case he needed it.

Since the Mooncalves were only XX-level magical animals, they could not live deep in the Forbidden Forest. It only took Hagrid about ten minutes to come out.

"Here, take it."

He handed a bag to Kyle and said, "Because Mooncalves usually step their feces into the soil at sunrise, I could only find this much.

If you need more next time, you'd better ask the owl to send me a letter in advance, and I can help you them pick up."

Kyle took the bag and weighed it. Judging from the weight, there should be seven or eight in it.

It wasn't much, but it was enough.

Kyle put away the bag and smiled: "Thank you, Hagrid."

"It's nothing." Hagrid scratched his hair in embarrassment: "As long as you don't change the name of the school's owls next time."

"It was just an accident."

When the two returned to the cabin, Kyle once again suggested to go inside to take a look.

As expected, Hagrid refused.

"There's really nothing to see, Kyle." He blocked the door, his eyes wandering from side to side as he said, "Go back to the castle quickly."

Kyle looked at him and wanted to laugh.

Hagrid really didn't know how to lie. Anyone who looked at him would know that there was something with the hut.

"Okay then, I'll go back to the castle first."

Kyle turned around and said calmly: "By the way, I have to remind you that three-headed dogs cannot be kept in a room."
