Chapter 5: CHAPTER 5. IT'S MY BIRTHDAY.
STARLETTE'S POV
There he is, looking mighty and powerful and sexy as hell!! 'I want to talk to him no scratch that I NEED to talk to him' I said to myself. I went over to my mirror to take a look at my reflection. I have green eyes and orange curly hair that I wrapped in a messy bun. I let down my hair, adjusted my dress, squared my shoulders and took in a deep breath. "I'm ready" I said to myself looking at myself in the mirror. My sisters were stunned.
"Are you going to speak to him? Like right now?" Luxury asked looking at me like I had grown two heads.
"Yes, I am" I replied confidently. And with that I left. I went... nope, I ran downstairs and paused at the entrance to adjust and gather my composure. Standing at the entrance I could see him clearly. He was currently speaking with Meher. He came with two people but I had my eyes on him. 'He's so tall' I said to myself. As I prepared myself to go over and greet, my dad came out. He was surprised to see me at the entrance but he just smiled shaked his head and told me to go in. I was so mad, why would he do that. But anyway, I'd see him at lunch, there I will prove myself as a capable Luna. With this in mind I went to my room to prepare for lunch.
ALESSIA'S POV
After leaving my fathers office with my brother, we decided to go to the garden. We saw Said practicing his magic there. "Alex, good morning" he said to me with a big smile on his face. Alex that's what he loves calling me. I'm so fond of Said. Unlike Meher, Said enjoys playing pranks on people with his magic and I love it. "Good morning big bro" he said to Meher. "Good morning to you too" Meher replied. "I'm having my 18th birthday party a day after Starlette's" I
couldn't hold it in.
"Are you kidding?" He asked calmly raising his left brow. "No, I'm for real" I said.
"That's great, how can I help" he said happily.
"I'd need your help with Starlette" I said jokingly. We laughed "I'd gladly help" he responded. Meher and I left Said to continue with his practice. Just then I got a text from Odessa 'I'm at the gate'. 'Come inside' I responded. It isn't news to anyone working in the alpha's house that Odessa is Meher's mate. Dominic and Ophelia loved her to bits, even those workers who always looked at me with hate filled eyes and contempt were fond of Odessa. There they are Odessa and Richard. I couldn't contain my joy, I bolted and jumped on them.
"I've missed both of you, so much" I said.
"We've missed you too" Richard replied. I was expecting a reply from Odessa but she wasn't paying me any attention at all. All her attention was on her mate, all of it. Sigh, I should be used to this by now, right? I took Richard's hand and pulled him to the other side of the garden and let them (Meher and Odessa) be. It must be really frustrating staying away from your mate for long. I heard every minute apart is like a year. Well I don't know. We were about to sit when we heard noise coming from the gate. "Open the gate" Meher said in his alpha voice. Just then a man walked in. He is really tall and breathtakingly handsome. If you'll call Meher a Greek god with his looks then this man in front of me is an actual god. I could tell right away that he was an alpha, he carries an oppressive and domineering aura. His physique is to die for. After taking in his details, I fixed my gaze back on Richard. "Sit down, I've got big news" I said excitedly.
Richard had his eyes on the man. I tapped him "I said I've got big news".
"Huh?" Richard replied looking confused.
"I've got big news" I repeated myself face palming.
"Oh,what news?" He replied curiously.
"I'm throwing my birthday party a day after Starlette's". I replied.
"Are you serious? How did you get the alpha to agree?" He asked excitedly.
"It was all Meher's idea" I told him. I took his hand and placed them on mine "but that's not it, Richard I get to find my mate".
"Oh" he responded with a mix of emotions.
"What's wrong? Aren't you happy?" I asked confused and a bit sad.
"No, I'm happy for you, you get to find your mate and I will help you, seriously. It's just that I've always wished to be the one, your mate". He replied withdrawing his hands and gaze from mine. I knew about this, he has told me before but I thought he said it because I couldn't find my mate and I was very down at the time. I didn't know he meant it, every word. "Cough cough" Odessa coughed awkwardly, I looked up and saw her. "You decided to join us" I said hugging her. I felt really guilty and bad for Richard. He's a good guy. How could I have not known? I looked at him thinking of what to say when he said "so the birthday party?" He asked excitedly.
"Yeah the party" Odessa added. "The party isn't really my concern, my concern is finding my mate". I said
"I know, you've said this a billion times" Odessa said playfully. "But what if you don't see this man in the party" she asked seriously. This is one possibility that I had at the back of my mind but I didn't think too much about it. "I don't know Odessa, I don't know" I said dejectedly. "But I Can only hope for now". That's the only thing I could do for now. Just then I realize something.
"Odessa, you asked what if the man isn't in the party?" I looked at her. "Yes" she answered confused. "But what if it isn't a man but a woman?" This is also another possibility.
"What? No it can't be. This things only happen with humans" Richard replied this time looking at me like I've grown two heads.
"Yeah, Richard's right, it hasn't be heard of ever". Odessa added.
"I haven't been heard of, but look at me, I'm right here. I feel like with me anything is possible". Odessa and Richard were shocked with what I just said.
"Um mm, I don't know what to say Lessia" Richard replied. "Let's get back to the party preparation" Odessa said. Just then Meher walked over to me with the man. "Alessia this is Dylan and he would be staying for Starlette's birthday party and Dylan this is my sister Alessia". I was confused. 'Why is Meher introducing this man to me?' I asked myself. As if sensing my confusion he said "I decided to let you know so you don't get scared when you see him around later at night". Oh, that makes sense. I always get scared seeing strangers around, why? That's a story for later. The man looked at me like I had two heads and just nodded. Just then Dominic came out and welcomed the man named Dylan and they left for his office. Meher came back after awhile for Odessa.
It was time for lunch and Starlette was the most excited. She took her bath and got dressed. She tied her hair into a high and tight ponytail. She wore a pink princess ball gown and did her makeup. When she was done, she looked at her heavily made up face in the mirror feeling excited and quickly went down for lunch.
In Alessia's room, Ophelia had told her to get ready that the man wasn't just any man but an alpha of the most powerful and feared pack so everything must be pleasing. Richard left the room for the two girls to get ready.
"I can't believe that I saw the alpha of Midnight pack. Oh My God!!! He looks so good" Odessa said smiling from ear to ear.
I looked at her and laughed "you have a mate, I hope you remember that". She pouted playfully "so what I'm just complimenting him" She laughed out loud.
"Alright, go get ready". I took my bath and changed into a yellow flowery body-con dress that had a slit which began above my knee. The dress was perfect, not revealing but gorgeous. Odessa got to work. She braided Alessia's hair and applied pink gloss to her lip. She paired her dress with a silver heel and they went downstairs. They all sat waiting for Dylan.
"Sorry I kept everyone waiting" Dylan said descending from the stairs and into the dining area. Dishes were served and they started eating. "I can't believe I'll be eating with you today, but I'll bear with it." Elodie said to Alessia feeling irritated. Alessia smiled at her and focused her attention on her meal. One thing Alessia, Odessa, Richard and Said couldn't help but notice was Starlette. She was laughing loudly at even the slightest joke. She even laughed at everything Dylan said. Alessia, Odessa, Richard and Said would exchange look from time to time.
"Alpha Dylan, tomorrow's my daughters birthday" Elodie said to Dylan.
"Oh" he responded without sparing a glance at Starlette.
"Yes, tomorrow is Starlette and Alessia's birthday" Dominic said in an attempt to correct Elodie.
"They were both born on same day" Ophelia added looking at Alessia lovingly. Elodie rolled her eyes while Dylan focused his gaze on Alessia. Averting his gaze he just said "okay".
"But I'm the one who is having the party tomorrow, so IT'S MY BIRTHDAY" Starlette said with a tight smile on her face.
