Chapter 274: Eldritch Incursion
A large pincer-like appendage swung towards me and Coulson as the smell of sugar and honey filled the room. I ducked and stabbed my dagger upwards through the pincer as I pulled on the nearby shadows and sucked the life force out of whatever attacked us.
A sickly sweet sensation spread through my body as the 'life force' of said creature entered into my digestive system. I felt the urge to throw up and remembered exactly where I had met these before.
"Fucking eldritch shit..." Coulson reacted to my words before grabbing out a small railgun and unloading it into the creature, that was still perfectly fine. 'Do I have to use my domains already?' At that moment the house started to vibrate heavily as the creature in front of us, which was quarter crab, quarter fish, quarter human and quarter squid, keeled over and screamed in pain. Apparently something about vibrations caused it to fall over in pain, using that Idea I pulled on the first domain of mine, Apocalypse. My domain perforated out of the shadows and stuck through the body of the creature, disintegrating it and leaving piles of ash in its wake.
The power didn't stop there however as it also pierced into the wall creating a perfect circle in said wall. Ash floated in the air as the honey smell was quickly annihilated by my domain. I had met these creatures a long time ago during the reign of Caligula in Rome. Some elements of the Senate and Caligula himself were trying to summon powerful beings to grant them immortality, i didn't clean up the mess, I merely aided them in their summoning before finding out i hated eldritch entities.
"They are eldritch kind, we need to find the portal from which they came, otherwise the entire planet will be infected within short order." May and Coulson got serious and started to shout out orders to the other group as Spangle-man was also summoned up to help us. Even Pirate guy said he would come and help. I didn't particularly care for their help but it would at least slow down the eldritch beings before I could seal the breach point. I hurriedly moved forwards and destroyed the beings with my domain, using as little power as possible although it was still a drain.
"Coulson, you and May need to distract the creatures whilst I deal with the main threat, okay?" They seemed frustrated and worried but when I destroyed another couple creatures with one blow they nodded and took off, echoing his decision to the rest of the team, they needed to hold back the number whilst I dealt with the main threat.
Ignoring the talky shit in my ear I took off towards the strongest concentration of honey and cinnamon, a common sign of eldritch activity. I ran into multiple different smaller enemies but they all fell before me as they either turned to ash or were broken down from their base atoms. Screams of different animals sundered into the room amongst my attacks as quickly I saw tendrils of moving muscle, mucous and plant matter writhing across the floor and ceiling of the mansion. Pulling on my original power and my new domain centred around it, a wave of black and red consumed the tendrils and began to turn them into shadows, these shadows merging with pre-existing ones and forming an elemental of shadow. This elemental then proceeded to continue to eat the eldritch infection and grow.
I left the elemental to its job and moved further into the mansion, through numerous corridors and hallways. The scent was getting intense now, exceedingly so, to such a point that I could almost taste it on the air. Another creature ran towards me as my shadow easily consumed it and munching noises followed. Continuing to walk unabated by the actions of the small creatures I gradually reached an infested doorway with countless small neon blue tendrils spilling out from the gaps in the door. The door itself was a dark crimson red as a substance close to blood began to seep out, I had never seen anything like this before...
'This isn't The Greater Intelligence or Cthulhu... What is this?'
I took some delicate and controlled steps as I gathered the shadows behind me and pierced it through the doors in front of me. The tendrils retracted and squirmed, as if in pain, before crumbling into dust and joining the shadows of my domain. I stepped through the doorway only to see a massive squirming shape that continued to change and undulate with eldritch power, a green mass of energy seeping into the room in miniature shockwaves.
Past the portals was the visage of a maddening entity that would have made me insane if not for the recent ascension I had just undergone. 'Yao... You bitch' I could almost imagine her smiling slightly at my realisation. Within moments of stepping through a deep, very deep, voice that sounded like metal screeching against itself and chalk scraping on the chalkboard resounded outwards.
"Heeehehehe, HOHOHOH... WHaT DooO WwwwWWWEEE HAAaaavvvVe HeeeRERE!?" I winced at the noise as my own brain felt like it was being scraped at despite the lack of psychic penetration. I grimaced and summoned my domain around me in the most concentrated form i could.
"W-what are you!?"
"WOulDn'T YoooU LIek Tooooooo KNOWWwww..."
'For fuck's sake...' My mind felt like it was slowly being invaded my the presence of the being as my power fluctuated from the sheer force of presence this being had. 'Is this the level that Emelia is at?'
"OhohohOHOHOH, iT SeeEmSm THaT YOoooOu KkknOw oF AnOTher LiEk MySeLf!"
'Crap...'
"ToooOO BAaaD ThAt I'lL HAVe tO EaT YoOoOu."
The tenctacles around the room swirled in my direction as the power of the room began to bear down on me, my eyesight was becoming clouded as it took all of my domain and powers to simply fight off its rather basic attempts at invading my brain. 'Fucking Creature!' The sound of a few railgun shots firing off and the quaking of the mansion told me the others had appeared to help me, but if i was outgunned then they were as if ants biting a mammoth... No, they were mere stains in front of this being. It cackled at the attempts and scooped them up instantly, their faces going pale as they all went unconscious.
'I have... to... FIGHT!!' My powers flared as I used all of them simultaneously, the being's power lessened somewhat from the display but in almost a nano second it was back and this time much more crushing. 'Emelia...'
