Chapter 349: Slaaneshi Shenanigans Part 3

Smashing through hordes of daemons, cultists and Chaos Space Marines we finally emerged at the front lines of the Blood Angels chapter. The courageous Space Marines jumped from their trenches and aided us in getting behind their battle lines, artillery and flamers pouring over the battlefield like a litany of righteous fury.

The Custodes covered my army's entry as they sprinted into the trenches and began to unload into the various Chaos forces. Swirling purple and black colours started to swirl in the atmosphere as the entire sky lit up in damning unholy purple. Screams and voiced began to flitter along everyone's ears as the madness of the warp started to pour out onto the planet of Baal.

"MADNESS! They have summoned the warp onto Baal, the planet will be lost if we do not kill the sorcerer!" A librarian of the Blood Angels shouted aloud into his Vox as a random bolter round met the right side of his chest-plate, glancing off and exploding against a boulder.

Hearing the words of the man I rushed up to him, my pace unabated as my forces joined the battle brothers in stemming the flow of daemons.

"Librarian! We need to get to Sanguinius's tomb!"

"That is forbidden knowledge, I cannot divulge it."

I was getting visibly pissed when the Captain general of the Custodes stepped up behind me. As i was currently six foot, he loomed over me and looked at the Librarian.

"We come by holy order of the Emperor of Mankind himself! Sanguinius is to be resurrected!" The Librarian looked stunned as he casually cut the head off of a cultist that had slipped through the lines. The other blood angels started to chatter as they were fighting, their entire body language showing the excitement of the statement.

"Lord Commander, I will guide you to the tomb, but If i could bring some of my brothers with me to ensure the safety of the mission and to have some assurances?" The Librarian deferred to the Captain General as he nodded in acceptance of the Librarian's request.

"Bring your forces... We must make haste, we have foreseen the heretics gaining control of the Primarch, we wish to stop this."

The Librarian instantly became angered at the prospect as he grabbed a Veteran Squad from the front lines. The Veterans immediately formed behind him as the Custodes joined alongside me. I ordered my forces to stay here and protect this area. This location was a landing platform for the Blood Angels and also an outpost. We couldn't beam into the fortress of the Blood Angels due to the interference of Baal's atmosphere and the shielding placed around said bastion.

Walking onto the platform we were quickly teleported to the main Fortress, many servitors and Tech Marines working away at the machine we were in the midst of. The environ had changed drastically as instead of burning sand and furnace-like heat it was replaced by cool metallic architecture and the sonorous chants of the Emperor's followers. Power armour started to quickly pound on metal plating as we moved towards the tomb of Sanguinius. The fortress was pounding and humming as battlements and gun emplacements flared in holy fire, Daemons being vanquished per the second by the almighty fire power of the structure.

Servants and Space Marines patrolled the halls as Scouts stood as guards for many of the halls, the up and coming Space Marines taking the duties of otherwise occupied Brothers. The Librarian was treated with upmost respect as the Custodes were reverentially treated, prayers and other holy symbols spoken or taken out in their presence. Hastily I stepped forwards, following the Librarian and the Captain General as it seemed they knew exactly where the tomb was. To resurrect Sanguinius I could do it one of two ways...

First way would be to use Enuncia to breathe life into his body and then take the soul that the Emperor shall give me, imbuing it into his now life-filled body.

Second way is to collect the soul of Sanguinius and then travel back to my Multiverse to easily do the process without having the Warp fuck with things.

Both methods had pros and cons and for the current situation It would be better to do the second one. Chaos couldn't grab anything if I did it in my Multiverse... Where as, if I did Enuncia here, it was like a siren's wail to anything that had even a fragment of true power in the Warp. The first option was not good and the second required a lot of trust from the Emperor...

'...Life is hard...'

Our trip did not take long as we quickly dove deeper into the fortress until we were in front of a bright golden door, the entire thing covered in symbols of the Emperor, Sanguinius and High Gothic. It looked truly like a crypt for an Emperor back in ancient times. The care put into the keeping of Sanguinius was evident as the door gleamed as if it had only been polished minutes ago.

"We need to open it. Now, I must warn you all, I have two ways of bringing him back. The first method requires me using a powerful language that can mould the warp and breathe life back into his body. The second option is that I take his soul, offered to me by the Emperor, and go back to my own Multiverse where I shall repair him without the need of the Warp."

"There is no question, you shall do it here." The Librarian didn't hesitate to deny the second option as he considered it a great privilege for me to even be here.

"Primordial, I am guessing that there is a downside to committing to the first option?" The Captain general was more observant and naturally understood my implied worries.

"Yes, the first method would be akin to a sirens call to the Chaos Deities, they will flood this planet with Daemons and their forces. They will try their best to obtain me and at that, Sanguinius. The second method would be much safer but would require you all to trust me beyond what our relation has allowed."

There was a silence as the Veterans communicated with their Vox, the Custodes looking on in utter stone-faced uncaring nature. The Librarian looked at the Captain General, his face moving through many emotions at once only to settle into a determined gritting expression.

"I will defer to the Captain General."

Turning my gaze to the Captain General I watched as his eyes scanned my body language. His eyes were piercing and seemed to lack all laxness, he was scouring me for any signs that I would betray them. I didn't want to stand there whilst Chaos could be doing shit but it was needed.

"Let us first get to the Primarch, we decide from there." Exhaling a little I stepped forwards and held out my hand.

"You cannot open it that way, it req-"

The doors opened as the locks undid themselves, my very presence trying to move things in the direction I wished... Reality fought me but it could only get so far. Everyone looked at me in slight amazement as it was unusual that their systems could be breached so easily.

"Come, we must get to him as quickly as possible!" I started to quickly walk into the chamber, skipping traps and dangerous defence mechanisms as I went. The Custodes and Space Marines followed along and within a minute we were in a massive chamber.

A casket adorned the middle of the room in golden light and silver details. Around the edges of the chamber were hundreds of lit candles. The room was not empty however as in the middle of it was a thing of utter disgusting corruption.

In its hands was a large staff with a living eye floating without any attachments. Purple and red tentacles whipped around the bottom of its form as a dull chaotic sounding language uttered from its many mouths. The little I could see of the form was utter terror and nightmare fuel.

"҉B҉҉e҉҉n҉҉d҉ ҉t҉҉h҉҉e҉ ҉b҉҉l҉҉o҉҉o҉҉d҉, ҉b҉҉u҉҉r҉҉n҉ ҉t҉҉h҉҉e҉ ҉f҉҉l҉҉e҉҉s҉҉h҉, ҉c҉҉l҉҉e҉҉a҉҉n҉҉s҉҉e҉ ҉t҉҉h҉҉e҉ ҉s҉҉o҉҉u҉҉l҉ ҉o҉҉f҉ ҉p҉҉u҉҉r҉҉i҉҉t҉҉y҉ ҉a҉҉n҉҉d҉ ҉l҉҉e҉҉t҉ ҉C҉҉h҉҉a҉҉o҉҉s҉ ҉r҉҉e҉҉i҉҉g҉҉n҉!"

The words were piercing, psychically, it was as if someone was driving a knife through your brain whilst keeping you alive. It was nowhere near Enuncia but still it had an effect, some marines shaking their heads as the Custodes grunted. The noises alerted the figure, it didn't even move, just continuing its ritual.

Stepping forwards I extended my psychic presence, the figure finally flinching as it turned in sheer fear.

"DAEMON! You re getting in the way... Now, DIE!"

"҉Y҉҉o҉҉u҉ ҉w҉҉i҉҉s҉҉h҉!"

Utter Chaos began...
