Chapter 3: The Awakening (Edited)
Oli (MC's nickname) didn't understand what was happening. When he closed his eyes after bathing in the blood of the fat fuck Kim, as he liked to call the tyrant of North Korea, the last one on his list, he expected to never wake up or to at least see flames or lava, with creatures of nightmares torturing people. But instead, he found himself staring at a blurry, unfamiliar ceiling.
He then heard annoying voices, one after another.
"Wake up, boy, or you won't get food for the rest of the week."
"WE'RE GOING TO THE ZOO!!!!!"
...Yeah, he didn't like this.
As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he noticed how the world was still blurry. Feeling around, finding a pair of glasses next to the mattress he was lying on, he understood that this was not his body, evident by how small he was and how hard and awkward it was to move.
However, something seemed wrong. That's when he felt it - his connection with the Source (the one of all knowledge) was not there, although he still retained what he had learned. He used to get updated every second as new knowledge was found and studied.
Another thing that hinted at the fact he wasn't in his original world was how nature (not only stuff like plants and animals, but also the concept of existence itself) had a different feel to it, like its laws were more flexible, less controlled... (*hint* *wink*).
'Whatever,' he thought, not really caring.
He focused on his eyes and started flexing the inner muscles in them. Veins bulged on and around them, his vision started adjusting to a healthy person's perfect vision, and then it became sharper, better, more powerful than any human could ever achieve.
... Staying like that for around ten seconds to find the perfect balance, then relaxing them, he rubbed his eyes in pain, as this body wasn't strong enough to endure the precise control of every single muscle he had in his previous life.
However, the deed was done, and his new eyes were adjusted to higher than perfect vision. It wasn't on the level he would have preferred, or even close to the one he had once, but it would do for now.
When he finished, he heard the voices again, this time, however, they were accompanied by a feeling he was quite used to previously.
"BOY, DON'T MAKE ME COME IN THERE AND GET YOU MYSELF!"
After hearing that voice, the feeling of information flooding his mind was felt, similar to all those times before, however unlike before, they were now accompanied by emotions... these were memories.
Ah... he got it now, he had become the 'famous' Harry Potter...
'Ok, not like I had anything planned after dying...'
He now understood what was happening, after all he had the knowledge of all gods which were present and governed some of the infinite realities out there, some more than others.
But he also recalled that none of them had the power to do this to him, so it was most likely one of the higher beings, those they call ROBs... and he was about 90% sure it was for their personal entertainment.
'Meh, I don't really mind as long as they don't interfere in my new life.'
With the answers found, he quickly refocused on the world around him, in which not even a millisecond passed since he started thinking, as he retained all his mental capacities as well as his muscle memory... and evolution powers that he unlocked when he was but a baby... which he thought was weird since that was a physical and genetic trait, but he didn't dwell on it. He finally stood up and looked around his 'room'.
'Ah, *the-boy-who-lived-under-the-cupboard* indeed,' mused OLI, amused by this predicament.
After all, he had lived in WAY worse situations and places; this didn't seem too bad... if you forget those annoying insects that call themselves human beings.
'That's it... from now on their names will be Maggot and Maggot Jr!'
