Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Leo

Leo hadn't expected to almost bump into his most recent crush, Jason, when rounding a corner. But he should've, because he knew the son of Jupiter was still working on the shrines for the minor Gods, which would take a billion gazillion million years. There were more minor Gods than Leo could count. But he was confident the next generation could finish, if it came to that. And maybe it would. But, with Romans and Greeks working together, maybe they could finish the shrines. Anyway, Leo sat at the Hephastus table with his siblings, and didn't even have to wait for his plate of tacos. And, yes, he ate them with Pico de gallo. He wasn't a monster! Anyway, he burnt one as an offering to his father, sent out a small prayer-like message, and went back to his table. He ate, then he talked. He also joked. And he even lit his hands aflame, then did the jazz hands, making his siblings smile and laugh. Unfortunately, Chiron ruined all the fun, and let him off with a warning. "I've told you before to not play with fire, havent I, Valdez?" "Yes, sir." Leo answered calmly. "Won't happen again." Chiron nodded, and went back to the head table, resuming his talk with Nico di Angelo and Will Solace. The son of Apollo was a nice guy. Trying his best to save anyone on the verge of death, or making sure someone's ok, or just healing and looking out for them. But Nico di Angelo....gosh, that kid gave Leo some serious I will kill you vibes. Which is why Leo didn't really talk to him. Sure, they had talked on the Argo II, but that was different. They'd been on a quest to save the world. He didn't have to talk to him. That kid had no humor. And he was from a different era. He wouldn't understand about half the stuff Leo said, if not more. He honestly didn't know how a certain son of Apollo, the God of light and truth and healing and music could fall in love with a son of Hades, God of the Underworld and death. But, maybe it is like they say, and opposites do attract. "Leo, didn't you hear me? I said it's time for us to go. Dinner's over." He'd been so lost in thought, apparently, he'd zoned out. "My bad, man. I've got to tend to Festus anyway, see if he's up to date. Duses!" And with that, he went to Bunker Nine, giving his metal dragon his favorite drink. Motor oil and hot sauce. He checked the dragon's wiring, the control panel, and everything else, finding nothing he needed to fix.
