Chapter 2: Birth

"Since after the war, the training of mana had become commonplace after the hard work of countless individuals who continued to train beyond generations, expanding the knowledge surrounding mana all the way to the top."
"Mana and mankind are one and the same in everyday life, and as such, mana is extremely important on the continent. It could be called irreplaceable!"
"Due to the presence of mana in the atmosphere, the life expectancy of ordinary people without mana core has increased to one hundred years, and this increases as the grade of mana core increases. Each increase in mana core rank increases the life span by 50 years, except for Violet rank mana core, which increases the Demigods life span by two hundred, while the lifespan increase for the four True Demigods is unknown as they are the only humans known to achieve that rank."
"Crimson Sanctuary was established by True Demigod Elijah Crimson, one of the four war heroes during the Apocalypse War."
"All over the sanctuary are the statues of Elijah and the other six heroes to commemorate their achievements during the war."
There were many titles attached to the great Elijah Crimson,
"The hot-tempered True Demigod"
"The greatest fire mage"
"The red-haired True Demigod." But his most famous title was "The Greatest Fire Mage, True Demigod."
"He is called the Fire. True demigod due to his element affinity being fire. He is the strongest user of the fire element.
"Due to the fire element affinity, almost all members of the Crimson family tend to have a fiery-like personality."
"Descendants of the Crimson family always tend to inherit their father's mana affinity over their mothers."
Presently, there are hundreds of clan members of the Crimson family. These members are comprised of the direct descendants of Elijah and other mages and mage warriors of fire and other elements that joined the family as vassals."
Currently, there is one true demigod, five demigods, tens of magenta cores, and hundreds of mages and mage warriors whose mana core rank is less than the magenta core.
"Crimson Sanctuary is divided into two castes: the outer layer, where mortals and those with low-grade mana affinity live, and the inner layer, where mages and mage warriors live. The inner layer is governed by Crimson's family and three other powers, with greater power resting with Crimson's family."
"Part of the inner area occupied by Crimson's family is called Crimson City, where the Crimson Estate was located. The estate was an enclosed forest area surrounded by tall walls built with Obsidian ores, one of the strongest ores on the planet."
"There is one main building on the estate, surrounded by many other mansions and annex buildings."
"There are warp gates everywhere leading to other parts of the sanctuary and other parts of the continent."
Descendants of the Crimson family are identified by their red hairs and eyes.
In the hallway of the room of the third wife of the current patriarch of the Crimson's family in the main family mansion, a man was walking up and down due to the nervousness he was feeling because of his most favorite wife, who had been in child labor for five hours.
The man is Augustus Crimson, the first son out of the three sons of Demigod Crimson, and he is the current patriarch of the Crimson family.
"Baby cries resound throughout the hallways. The Crimson house had its third son delivered."
Augustus was very happy after hearing the baby's cry. He quickly went inside the adjacent room, where four women and a baby were found.

The physician and the other two midwives on the side of the bed lowered their heads at the sight of the man and greeted him with respect, "Congratulations, patriarch; your wife has given birth to a baby boy."
"Hahaha!" Laughed Augustus.
"Thank you for your efforts."
"We are glad we could be of help." Responded to the physician and the two midwives.
"Augustus focused on his wife, Clara, who was resting on the bed with the newborn baby in her arm."
"He directly took the baby in his arms and raised him in the air to have a better view of the baby."
"The newborn baby bore some resemblance to Augustus. He has a beautiful set of yellow eyes and white hair with a few strands of red hair in it instead of the usual full red hair usually possessed by the descendants of the family."
"Augustus face suddenly changed from one of joy to one of indifference after inspecting the mana affinity of the baby with his aura."
"In Blue Planet, a person's talent is determined by the grade of the element affinities they are born with, and this determines their accomplishment in life unless they consume a special type of elixir to increase their affinity towards their attuned elements."
After going through a system of analysis, the grades of element affinity were split into seven. They are in ascending order: rank zero, rank 1, rank 2, rank 3, rank 4, rank 5, and rank 6 mana talent. It is believed that there is a special grade mana affinity talent above rank 6, which the people called "Divine Grade Affinity," but nobody on the continent has been born with this type, or they are just kept away as a secret from the general public."
"The grade of the element affinity a person was born with determines his accomplishments as a mage or mage warrior in life. The maximum mana core achievable by a possessor of rank 1 mana affinity is red, orange for rank 2, yellow for rank 3, green for rank 4, blue for rank 5, and magenta for rank 6. Rank-zero affinity possessors are those that can't become mages and mage warriors as they aren't attuned to any elements."
"They are generally referred to as mortals."
"Children of two strong mages or mage warriors tend to have a higher affinity. It is rare for children of two strong mages to have a lower mana element affinity than their parents."
There are also some rare cases of people being born with multiple elemental affinities. It was said that the True Demigod Zeus, the founder of the Thunder Empire, is a dual mage of thunder and wind. He had a Rank 6 and Rank 5 affinity, respectively, for each element.
"Demigods are people that have transfigured rank 6 mana affinity by experiencing a fortuitous encounter."
"Who can tell me what's happening here?"
"How can the child of I, the great Augustus Crimson, be born with a Rank 1 fire affinity?" Shouted Augustus.
The physician and the midwives were shivering due to the violet aura surrounding Augustus body, which signifies that he is a demigod.
The baby also burst into tears due to the aura being too much for a newborn, until his mother covered him with her own mana aura.
"You are hurting the baby, said Clara."
"Shut up!" shouted Augustus.
"As of today, you and your baby are banished to one of the mansions in the outer yard."
Saying so, Augustus gave the baby back to his mother and moved toward the exit. Seeing this scene, Clara said softly,
"Won't you at least name him?"
Stopping at the edge of the exit, Augustus turned to look at Clara and her baby and said, in the most natural manner, Name him yourself before leaving the room and closing the door behind him angrily.
As Augustus left the room, he sighed heavily.
I had to do this to protect both of them, said Augustus, even though Clara did not really need his protection as she is a Magenta core mage.
Clara started crying while looking at the baby in her arms. She pondered for a while, searching for a suitable name for the baby.
"I will name you Leo; yes, Leo Crimson, it's a good name." I hope you will grow up to become a brave person, said Clara.
The physician and midwives left the room after confirming the baby was healthy.
After Clara finished pacifying Leo to stop crying and he fell asleep, she laid him down on the baby's crib beside her bed before laying down on the bed to rest while pondering about the baby's future.
