Chapter 4: Chapter 4

"Now, Aric, take your shot."

Aric, though nervous, drew his bowstring with focused intent. He aimed at the Kobold closest to them, the arrow poised to cut through the air and strike with deadly precision. As the tension peaked, Aric released the arrow, and it sailed through the forest air, heading straight at the heart of the Kobold.

The arrow found its mark, hitting the Kobold with a lethal accuracy. The creature crumpled to the ground, a yelp of pain escaping its snarling jaws. The remaining Kobolds, startled by the sudden attack, momentarily froze in confusion.

"They're coming," Caelum said to his subjects. The urgency in his voice spurred Galen to hold his position with unwavering determination.

Caelum surveyed the advancing Kobolds, calculating the timing for Aric's next shot. "Galen, hold your ground. Aric, get ready to shoot. We need to thin their numbers before they get too close."

The Kobolds, driven by instinct and aggression, rushed towards Caelum and his subjects. As they closed the gap, Galen remained hidden, poised to strike from the ambush point.

Caelum bided his time, waiting for the perfect moment. The first Kobold, oblivious to the impending danger, reached Galen's position. In a swift and well-coordinated move, Galen emerged from his concealed spot, plunging his spear into the creature's neck. A subdued but triumphant grunt marked the success of the ambush.

Emboldened by the initial victory, Caelum urged Aric to take another shot, targeting a Kobold that veered towards them. The arrow found its mark at the head of the creature, felling before it could reach striking distance.

Yet, the remaining Kobold pressed on, undeterred by the loss of his comrades, its eyes fixed on Caelum, lunged forward with a primal determination. In a swift and instinctive move, Caelum dodged the creature's pounce, narrowly avoiding its razor-sharp claws. The Kobold's momentum carried it past Caelum.

Aric swiftly notched another arrow and released it with precision. The projectile found its mark, sinking into the Kobold's shoulder. The creature howled in pain, momentarily distracted by the new assailant.

Caelum, unarmed but undeterred, assessed the situation. With a decisive step, he positioned himself strategically, ready to evade the Kobold's attacks. The forest echoed with the tense atmosphere of the impending confrontation.

Galen, having dispatched the first Kobold, readied himself for another strike. The wounded creature, though weakened, remained a formidable opponent. As the Kobold regained its focus, the trio braced for the Kobolds next move.

The wounded Kobold, in a final act of desperation, lunged at Caelum. Despite his attempt to evade, Caelum couldn't completely avoid the attack. The Kobold's claws left a small, stinging scratch on Caelum's arm before Galen swiftly intervened, dispatching the creature.

"Are you alright, my Lord?" Galen asked, concern etched across his face as he noticed the scratch.

Caelum inspected the minor wound, acknowledging it with a nod. "I'll be fine. We need to be more cautious. These Kobolds were just a taste of what's out there. We can't afford to let our guard down."

[Congratulations you and your subject have killed 4 Kobolds]

After the intense encounter with the kobolds, Caelum felt a subtle shift within him. It was as if the adrenaline-fueled struggle had unlocked a dormant potential.

[You have learned the skill 'Evasion']

[Evasion]

A passive skills that increases your chance to evade some of the opponents attack.

As Caelum reflected on the newly acquired 'Evasion' skill, a realization dawned upon him. It seemed that the dangers he faced in the Celestial Glade held the key to unlocking additional skills. The more perilous the encounter, the greater the potential for new abilities to emerge. With each confrontation, Caelum found not only experience but the possibility of discovering more skills, hidden within the crucible of battle.
