Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Another Mysterious Letter

Cecilia's POV

The rest of the day was filled with short naps, delicious meals and casual walks around my chambers. I did not bother exploring the whole building, which was something I would have done if I had not received a message as threatening as that rose in a box.

I wondered over and over what the message could be referring to or implying, but nothing came up, so I let it be. I also did not bother to tell Anna about it because she would take it upon herself to follow me around for safety.

Towards the end of the day, Alpha Denver sent guards to man every corner of my chambers. It was a bit of a relief to see them around, but nonetheless, I was vexed that he had taken so long to think that my chambers needed to be guarded.

The day was not what I had expected, and having it come to an end was the only thing I impatiently waited for. Whilst I waited for the sun to set and the moon to rise, I busied myself with planting different flowers with the seeds that had been provided.

Of all the expensive things in the building, the only part that humbly stood out was the garden. It had not yet been filled with flowers and shrubs, but I loved the fact that there was a garden for me alone.

I decided to plant as many herbs as I could there, but there were no seeds of those herbs around. Since Anna was in taking a nap, I called to another omega.

"Ma'am." She addressed me.

"I need some herb seeds to plant in this garden, and I can't seem to find any around her. Can you get them for me?"

"We can have them planted for you tomorrow morning, ma'am."

"No, that will not do. I want them now and I wish to plant them myself." I explained.

"Okay ma'am. I will get them for you quickly." She said and bowed a little.

"And you can call me Luna." I corrected her with a smile, but it did not sit well with her.

I noticed her brows squeeze in questioning and then rise in shock.

"Are you really the Luna?" she asked and immediately bowed her head "I am sorry for such a disrespectful question. I will fetch the seeds immediately."

Quickly, she scurried out of the garden in supposed fear, and I could not understand why she had asked such a question and behaved in such manner.

She returned with the seeds in no time and I had them planted. I sat a little longer in the garden and just stared into the sky from the open roof.

The garden was all I wanted, and if possible, I would just erase the whole reality of me becoming a Luna that would not bare pups.

It sounded absurd, but I could only expect that when Denver made it clear that he was not in love with me but merely needed me for my skills and to obtain power.

The sun had finally set, and slowly, the moon took it place. I had already left the garden and returned back to my room. Cradling the comfort around me, I slept peacefully like a new born baby.

The new day was calm, and waking to a different place for the first time in years was indescribably weird. However, when I remembered just what the day held, I was more than happy to jump down the king sized bed and get ready.

I could still not believe I was getting mated to Alpha Denver of the Eagle Eyes pack, and becoming a Luna. Never in my secluded years would I have dreamed of that.

I heard a knock on the door and ushered the person in. It was Anna; she had gotten dressed and was ready to get me ready. She came along with several other omegas from the Eagle Eyes pack, with all they were going to need to get me ready.

"What is all this? I have not even had my bath." I queried but Anna was not having it.

"Sure sure, fine. You can have your bath but you need to be fast about it. It is almost like the whole pack is waiting and I am sure you do not want to keep them waiting for long. Now go have your bath." She pointed out and pushed me into the bathroom.

I had my bath and got out quickly, before settling into a chair in front of the dressing mirror. From powder to hairdo and every other thing that was needed to be put in place for the ceremony; they took care of it while Anna supervised to make sure it was done right.

"You may leave now. My Lady, open your eyes."

I did and I saw a sitting figure that was stunning. I could only smile as words failed me, and I felt tears clouding my vision.

"No crying. You will ruin the whole change that has been made." Anna said and chuckled "You look very beautiful. I will leave you to yourself now and will come back in a few minutes to get you when the Alpha comes out of his chambers, okay?"

I only nodded and smiled. She left and I kept staring at myself in the mirror. It was truly happening, the day I would become someone's mate publicly.

I got up and walked to the window to stare out to the sky again. There, I saw another box, wrapped like the one the guard had brought to me just yesterday.

I was a bit skeptical about opening it, but my curiosity did not let me turn away from it. I picked it from the window ledge that it had been placed and brought it to my table.

Inside the box was another flower; a sunflower, but it was withered. I checked the cover of the box again and there was a message.

It read;

"Even sunflowers wither because the sun does not shine forever."
