Chapter 221: Dragon Valley (5)

Dai Yun'er understood why Tang Wulin spoke those words. It was because of their different origins. If he had been Anping or Le Zhengyu, she would have left without hesitation.

He said that because he was from the Sun-Moon Federation, but also a student of Shrek Academy.

The Star Luo Empire harbored a deep hatred for the Sun-Moon Federation, but as a princess, she knew that without Shrek Academy's help, they would never have been able to migrate to this continent.

Without Shrek Academy, they would not have survived here.

She knew that when the Sun-Moon Federation was still the Sun-Moon Empire, they had advanced far beyond the Star Luo Empire in soul guide research. Even though the Star Luo Empire had improved with the aid of the Tang Sect, they still lagged behind the Sun-Moon Federation, who had mastered this field. And after conquering the Douluo Continent, the Sun-Moon Federation had gained even more resources.

If it weren't for the Shrek Academy members in the Sun-Moon Federation Council who had always opposed war, the Sun-Moon Federation's fleet would have reached their shores long ago. The Star Luo Empire would not exist.

Even with the Tang Sect's support, the Star Luo Empire could not resist the Sun-Moon Federation's army. They were outmatched in both military equipment and top-level strength.

Tang Wulin did not think as much as Dai Yun'er did. Because of the Golden Dragon King's divine core, he had spent most of his time practicing and finding enough food. He had no time to ponder these things.

He felt this way because the enmity between the Sun-Moon Federation and the other two empires was a fact. He would understand if Dai Yun'er left because of that.

Besides, his dream was to join the army. As a soul master, the army was the best place to grow. If the Sun-Moon Federation waged war on the other two empires, he might be sent to the front lines.

So even though he liked the Star Luo princess, he did not dare to get too close to her. Who knew if they would meet again on the battlefield?

Tang Wulin shook his head and smiled. "I'm from the Sun-Moon Federation, after all. Aren't you afraid that I'll become your enemy in the future?"

Dai Yun'er smiled confidently. "Not at all."

Tang Wulin was puzzled by her confidence and asked, "Why are you so sure? Can you tell me?"

Dai Yun'er did not boast, but explained calmly. "It's because of who you are. You're from Shrek Academy. Shrek Academy's mission is to maintain world peace and prevent war."

"Also, you're a member of the Tang Sect. You should know that our Star Luo Empire has a much closer relationship with the Tang Sect than the Sun-Moon Federation does."

"Neither Shrek Academy nor the Tang Sect would let you interfere in the war between the Sun-Moon Federation and the Star Luo Empire."

Tang Wulin thought about it and realized she was right. He nodded and said, "I see. I guess I was being narrow-minded."

Dai Yun'er nodded and said, "That's not all. The most important thing is that the Tang Sect and Shrek Academy regard our Star Luo Empire as the native empire of the Douluo Continent, while the Sun-Moon Federation is the foreign invader."

"They would never allow the Sun-Moon Federation to destroy our Star Luo Empire. If things get to a point of no return, they will surely intervene. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to migrate here thousands of years ago."

Tang Wulin asked, "Didn't you migrate here thousands of years ago because the Sun-Moon Empire was afraid of the gods from the God Realm?"

Dai Yun'er laughed and said, "It's not that simple. Maybe they let us go because they feared the God Realm. But the key to our successful migration was the help of the Tang Sect and Shrek Academy."

"I'm surprised to hear you say such things. You're very different from usual." Tang Wulin sighed, and his words were sincere.

He had always thought of Dai Yun'er as arrogant and haughty, but he didn't expect that she would know so much about the relations between the major powers on the continent.

Dai Yun'er blushed slightly when she heard Tang Wulin's comment. She had learned these things from her father, Dai Tianling. She had repeated them when Tang Wulin asked, but she didn't admit it.

Instead, she said proudly, "Of course, I'm the princess of the Star Luo Empire. How could I not know such simple things? Unlike you, who are a student of Shrek Academy and a member of the Tang Sect, but don't even know this."

Tang Wulin felt embarrassed. He hadn't paid much attention to these matters. He had been busy with his cultivation and finding enough food, because of the threat of the Golden Dragon King's divine core. He had no time to think about anything else.

Now that he knew he wouldn't become an enemy in the future, Tang Wulin felt more relaxed. He said, "I don't know how long we've been here."

He didn't expect to get a real answer. He knew that most people wouldn't last for three months because of the accident. He was the only one who had brought so much food, because he didn't know what Dragon Valley was.

He also knew that the Tang Sect wouldn't expel so many people. The situation was caused by the problem in Dragon Valley, not by their lack of effort.

Tang Wulin looked surprised when Dai Yun'er took out a round instrument and checked it. She said, "It's only been seven days. We still have a long way to go before the three months are up. Do you have enough food? If not, we'll have to give up this mission."

Tang Wulin nodded and said, "Don't worry, I bought a lot when we had a break. It's enough for us to last three months. But you don't need to worry too much. If we can't make it for three months, it shouldn't be a problem."

"After all, it's Dragon Valley's fault, not ours. There must be many people who can't hold on for that long. By the way, what is that instrument of yours?"

Dai Yun'er shook her head first and said, "We can't be too careless. We should try our best to stay for three months. If we get fired because of negligence, it will be a huge loss."

"This instrument is a time comparison table between the small world of Dragon Valley and the outside world. It was very hard to bring it here."
