Chapter 206: Morning II

Nash's day had gone from bad to worse to worst and it wasn't afternoon yet. He looked at the bodies littered on the floor like forgot things and wished he was back at the gate.

Was this the reason why the Magistrate called him? To see bodies? No, even the Magistrate looked surprised at the turn of events.

"Oh? You're finally here."

Nash knew that voice and he raised his head to look at the stairs where Lord Alaric stood, slowly descending, balancing wine bottles in his hand.

They all froze and looked at the man. He was right, judging by the way he was walking. A second man, the one who spoke very little when Nash saw them all at the gate followed behind, his face was like stone but his eyes, snapping like blue flame.

The Magistrate made a small sound and stumbled backward.
