Chapter 213: Are you serious

Percival's eyes widened in shock and he opened his mouth in disbelief before he snapped it shut as he saw that Alaric was serious.

Apostle Ken was also surprised, he was looking as if what Alaric said wasn't what he could ever imagine. "Are you serious right now?"

Alaric turned to the Apostle. "I am."

Percival sat back, he wasn't laughing or smiling. His eyes were so narrowed they almost disappeared in the folds of his face. "You want me to borrow you money." He repeated.

"Yes." Alaric nodded.

Indeed, this was far from anything Percival or Ken ever thought could happen. They had thought Alaric called them to ask for alliances or plead. But gold?

"And why should I...should we borrow you?"

He pointed at Percival. "I want to borrow the gold from you but what I will use it for will favor the Holy Church greatly and you greatly."
