Chapter 38: Chapter-38 Choosing & Experimenting

I looked at all the spells. I had read the details of the spells in one go and now I needed to choose spells according to my current balance. The cheapest spell was 1000 academy points, which was not cheap at all.

I had spent months gathering 16k academy points. I had been hunting without any break. I needed to carefully choose from the given spells. The very first spell that I wanted to buy was the Spatial Compression. It was an offensive spell.

I was really in need of an offensive type spell. I was getting tired of killing monsters using nothing but a blade. I felt more like a warrior than a mage. What I wanted was to kill like other mages do by standing at a distance and firing away the spells.

Spatial compression was going to cost me 3k points, which would leave me with only 13k points. Spatial Telekinesis, Flight and Shield, and Healing were very important spells for a mage. I wanted to buy all four of them, which were going to cost me another 4k points, leaving me with only 9k points.

I looked between Spatial Shifting, Spatial Distortion, and Spatial Barrier spells. All of them were very important spells for my survival in the wilderness. I was different from the other mages who only needed to cultivate in a room to get stronger, while I needed to be out in the wilderness for monster hunting.

Before choosing any of these spells, I looked at the last two remaining important spells, Spatial Delay and Spatial Empowerment. Both of them were pretty impressive but after pondering for a moment, I decided to choose Spatial Delay. I was going to buy the Empowerment spell after getting more APs.

Now I was left with 6k points which I spent on buying the three spells, Spatial Shifting, Spatial Distortion, and Spatial Barrier. After making my choices, I decided to go through once again. After some time, I clicked on the spells that I was going to buy and soon all the spells were stored in the system.

All my points that I worked hard to gather in months disappeared in the blink of an eye. I was pretty satisfied with my choices. I had gained a lot of new spells. Most of them were supportive and defensive, including one offensive spell.

I had bought nine new spells out of ten. The only spell that was left was Spatial Empowerment. I clicked on the Access Area and different rows of information were shown on the screen,

[ Tier 1 Access ]

[ Available ]

[ Tier 2 Access ]

[ Available ]

[ Tier 3 Access ]

[ Locked ]

I had gained access to the tier 2. The tier 3 access was currently locked. I clicked on the option and it showed that I needed fifty thousand points to unlock. I felt dizzy looking at the number of academy points that I needed to unlock the next spell. It was going to take another long time for me to reach that place.

I shook my head and opened my status panel to look at the spells,

[ Spells: 12 ]

Now I had 12 spells in total. I left the room and soon came out of the library building. I hurriedly left for the Ultimate Hall. I had thought about trying the spells in the Virtual Tower but I decided to try it in the real wilderness.

I told Julia about my reason and soon took a mission to leave for the dimension. I teleported to the same area and looked around. After thinking for a moment, I created a small shuriken with the Spatial Blade spell.

When it appeared in my hand, I used the telekinesis to lift it up. Soon, it started floating around in the air. I experimented with it for a while and then dismissed it. I used the Spatial Shield spell and soon something changed in front of me. It looked like nothing but air, but there was a shield made from the space right in front of me.

After that, I used the flight spell, and soon my body started to float in the air. It took me some time to properly fly around and I left to find monsters. I had only flown for a while when I came across the group of monsters. I floated above them and used the Spatial Compression.

Just as I used the spell, all the monsters fell on the floor with high speed and started to let out a cry of agony. Their bones started to crack and blood started to come out from their bodies. I kept using the spell and after some time, they turned into nothing but meat paste.

I landed beside them and looked at the result of the spell and felt goosebumps. It really was an overpowered spell. 'I need to be careful using this spell. I don't want all the monsters to turn into meat paste,' I said to myself and started looking for other monsters.

Soon, I was able to find more powerful monsters. One by one, I tested all the spells and felt satisfied. Slowly, I was beginning to understand why the space element was one of the most powerful elements in the world. It truly was an overpowered element.

Space Mages were difficult to kill and difficult to catch too. There were more spells in the Tier 3 Access. 'I wonder how many offensive spells are there in the next tier,' I thought to myself. After I was done experimenting, I thought about the reason for Sir Wise Mage's disappearance.

He was considered the most powerful mage with the space element. There was no way anyone could have killed him even if they prepared an ambush. I thought for some time but nothing came to my mind so I decided to let go.

What I needed to do was to reach level 11 soon. I was only a little bit away from reaching the next level. I needed 10k exp points to fill the bar. I increased my flying speed and started looking for monsters to get exp. Along the way, I tried to gather the herbs of the mission.

After some time,

I looked at the monsters that were dying under the spatial spell. Just as they died, I heard the continuous notifications ringing in my head. Suddenly, I felt my body becoming a lot stronger than before. It felt like I had become more than just a few times stronger.
