Chapter 2: Chapter 2: I like Coke

The Main Character's name in DC will be Adrian. For the main world it will remain as Chinese since there's subsequent plot in his main world.

2. User and Executor are interchangeable.

Enjoy.

...

Without making any relevant preparations, happily teleporting directly to another world was not Adrian's recklessness.

Well, perhaps he didn't consider so much, but even if he wanted to prepare, there was nothing to prepare for.

The world chosen by the Staff of Power and Wealth for Adrian, a Level 1 Executor, was completely random. He had no way to choose to teleport to a specific world and had no idea what he would face.

The only thing certain was that the world would be stable, with a civilized order, not throwing Adrian into some wilderness.

It was also impossible to directly throw Adrian into places like the deep sea, but instead, he would be teleported to a suitable and safe location.

Clothes, shoes, and small items that could be placed close to the body or carried in hand were also teleported together. However, larger "external belongings" could not be transported temporarily.

There wasn't much dizziness during the teleportation process. For Adrian, the entire process was like a momentary blackout, leaving the room and arriving in another world.

Simple, quick, and giving a sense of unreality.

The place where Adrian appeared was a dark alley, with elements of a modern city visible.

"Black, scan and collect language elements," Adrian spoke.

An invisible wave emanated from Adrian, and after a moment, the voice of Black sounded: "Collection completed. You could choose Direct Infusion or Organized Learning."

"Of course, Direct Infusion," Adrian answered without hesitation.

Organized learning, even if Adrian was a genius, wouldn't have allowed mastering a "foreign language" in a short time.

Besides, learning was tiring. Adrian wouldn't have shortchanged himself when there was a better way.

In fact, during his time in the convalescent home, Adrian didn't truly start learning from the most basic knowledge like a child. Instead, he used the power of the Staff of Power and Wealth for direct infusion.

Most of Adrian's learning time was actually spent understanding the world, which was quite unfamiliar to him, through platforms like TV and the internet.

After mastering the language of a significant area of this world, Adrian had an excited smile on his face as he walked out of the alley.

It was twilight when he arrived. Streetlights were already on, but the brightness was low, not even matching the last bit of light from the setting sun.

The streets were wide, filled with various towering buildings.

A standard forest of steel and cement, even colder than the typical steel forest - the main colours of the city were only black and grey, with even the neon signs of shops inexplicably exuding a sense of grey.

Numerous buildings pierced the sky, sharp as swords, in a Gothic style.

At first glance, this city seemed magnificent, but upon closer inspection, one would have discovered the sense of gloom beneath the glamour.

Fortunately, the various crowds on the streets dispersed this eerie feeling.

If one walked around this city in the late hours, it wouldn't have been too comfortable.

Despite this, Adrian's curious and excited smile didn't diminish as he looked around.

After wandering for about half an hour, darkness had completely fallen, and the streetlights finally came into play.

Just as he was thinking about whom to approach for a transaction, Adrian heard a muffled voice nearby.

Soon, people who were leisurely strolling on the street began to move hastily - entering buildings or getting into cars. Even the speed of the cars on the road increased.

"What's happening?" Adrian grabbed a passing guy.

The guy, about to enter a nearby restaurant, looked a bit anxious but patiently replied when stopped by Adrian: "Look up at the sky."

Adrian looked up and saw a bat symbol projected by a searchlight in the night sky.

"I understand," Adrian smiled and let go of the guy.

"Better hide for now. Who knew what crazy stuff was happening again? It would have been tragic if you got caught up in it," the guy hurried into the restaurant.

Of course, Adrian didn't follow suit. Instead, he stood there, visibly pleased.

Gotham City, the land of talent, and Arkham.

This world, or rather, this city, was familiar to Adrian - well, relatively familiar.

He knew this city, the dark and dangerous underside beneath its surface, where day and night could have been considered different places.

During the day, Gotham City was a bustling metropolis, a steel forest.

During the night, Gotham City became a playground for lunatics and criminals.

Of course, it wasn't to say that one shouldn't have stepped out at night; it was just that the city's security was somewhat lacking, and the crime rate remained high.

However, the appearance of the bat symbol in the sky meant that Gotham City's Dark Knight, Batman, would appear.

The situation that forced the city's law enforcement to turn on searchlights and call for Batman's help was undoubtedly dangerous.

Naturally, people wanted to steer clear as soon as possible. Where would they cry if they got caught up in it?

The once lively streets were now showing signs of emptiness. Adrian extended his hand and hailed a taxi.

The driver stopped and rolled down the window, saying, "Where to? If it's too far, I won't go."

"Iceberg Lounge," Adrian said, "Is it far?"

"Not far," the driver nodded. "Get in quickly, I'm heading home soon too."

"No rush. I want to make a deal with you," Adrian looked at the driver.

"What?" The driver hesitated for a moment, his anxious expression fading. "Okay, what kind of deal?"

"I don't have money. You take me to the Iceberg Lounge, and I'll tell you a joke," Adrian said.

"Alright, get in. It's just another block, a five-minute drive. You could've walked," the driver said after a few seconds.

"Thank you," Adrian got in with a smile. "Indeed, Gotham City is known for its simple folk."

The driver happily accepted the compliment.

"Black, how much wealth value did this transaction get me?" sitting in the car, Adrian asked by heart after telling the driver a mediocre joke.

"0.00005."

"Isn't this basically nothing?" Adrian smirked.

Gaining wealth value wasn't an easy task. Not all transactions yielded wealth value. In simple terms, the larger the transaction, its impact, or the profits, the more wealth value could have been gained. Transactions as small as the one just made were practically equivalent to gaining no wealth value at all.

That 0.00005 wealth value was generated in Adrian's case due to his low level.

If Adrian had some wealth value by now, even that 0.00005 wouldn't have mattered.

The car stopped at the entrance of the Iceberg Lounge. Without a word, the driver stepped on the gas and left.

This Iceberg Lounge appeared to be an ordinary restaurant on the surface.

In reality, it was a den of Gotham City's underworld, an arms dealer - one of the Penguin's bases. Adrian wasn't sure if it was the only one, but undoubtedly, through this restaurant, one could find the Penguin.

At the entrance of the Iceberg Lounge stood two towering figures in black suits, their hands clasped in front of them, seemingly playing the role of guards.

Usually, such figures at a restaurant's entrance would drive

away potential customers. However, in a place like Gotham City, having these guards outside would paradoxically give a sense of security.

For instance, Adrian saw a few people hastily entering the Iceberg Lounge, seemingly because of the appearance of the bat symbol in the sky.

If these people knew that the mastermind behind this restaurant was none other than the famous Penguin of Gotham City, would they scream and flee in terror?

However, compared to other psychologically disturbed criminals who ended up in Arkham Asylum once caught, the Penguin was somewhat different.

He was someone more interested in profits, eager to climb the social ladder.

The Penguin wouldn't have done things like the Riddler, installing puzzles all over Gotham City, nor would he have gone around robbing banks like Two-Face, flipping a coin to decide someone's fate.

He wouldn't have engaged in games with hostages like the mad Joker did with Batman.

Relatively speaking, the Penguin's danger to civilians was relatively minor.

Of course, if anyone thought the Penguin was harmless because of this, the bodies of such naïve people would probably have already been dumped into the sea outside Gotham City.

"I want to see your boss."

Adrian approached one of the guards and spoke.

"Kid, did you know what you're saying?" the guard hesitated, scoffing.

"Of course, I want to see your boss - Cobblepot, or should I say, the Penguin," Adrian smiled.

The two guards exchanged a glance. It wasn't common for people to know that the mastermind behind the Iceberg Lounge was the Penguin.

How did this seemingly frail, perhaps not even an adult, know?

"I know Batman's true identity and want to make a deal with Cobblepot," Adrian didn't give the guards much time to think, directly stating his purpose.

The two men exchanged another look; one of them kept an eye on Adrian, while the other went to the side and made a phone call.

Soon, he returned, "Kid, wait here."

"Aren't you inviting me inside for a bit? At least offer me a drink - Coke?" Adrian pointed at the Iceberg Lounge's entrance. "Or maybe just a glass of water?"

Ten minutes later, having finished a glass of Coke, Adrian walked out of the Iceberg Lounge and got into the back seat of a black car parked at the entrance.
